Rick Perry Would Send Troops Back to Iraq

Rick Perry Would Send Troops Back to Iraq

During Saturday night’s ABC News Republican presidential primary debate from Manchester, New Hampshire, Texas Governor Rick Perry took a stand when assertively declaring that if president, he would send troops back to Iraq to prevent Iran from taking over the country. Gov. Perry slammed President Obama for allegedly acting on political pressures in pulling out U.S. troops from Iraq, and in his opinion, opening the door for a possible takeover by foreign powers:

“I would send troops back into Iraq . I think we start talking with the Iraqi individuals there. The idea that we allow the Iranians to come back into Iraq and take over that country, with all of the treasure, both in blood and money, that we have spent in Iraq — because this president wants to kowtow to his liberal leftist base, and move out those men and women. He could have renegotiated that time frame. I think it is a huge error for us. We are going to see Iran, in my opinion, move back in at literally the speed of light. They’re going to move back in, and all of the work we’ve done — every young man that has lost his life in that country will have been for nothing. Because we‘ve got a president that does not understand what’s going on in that region.”

Perry is a former Air Force pilot and says that unlike President Barack Obama, he understands what it is like for those on the front lines.

The Los Angeles Times notes that Perry’s stance on Iraq may play well in certain upcoming primary states such as South Carolina, where there is heavy interest in defense policy, but poses a risk nationally:

“An ORC/CNN poll from December, when U.S. troops left Iraq, found that Americans overwhelmingly support the withdrawal, 78% to 21%. Sixty percent of Republicans and 78% of independents approved of the decision.

A majority of all respondents, 51%, said the decision to send troops into Iraq was ‘dumb,’ and 57% said they believed the Bush administration had deliberately misled the American people about whether Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.”

Do you think the risk that Perry describes of Iranians going in and taking over Iraq, is worth sending U.S. troops back?

If we go back to Iraq, it should be for the purposes of glassing it over. The politicians will never let our troops fight and win a war, because it always comes down to money, power and political maneuvers….with the troops caught in the middle. We haven’t fought an all-out, in it to win war, since WWII.

The only way to Finish a War is not to pump tons of money into their economy and bring tons of people to our shores. We have paid dearly for this crazy war in Iraq. Now we have people living here illegally from Iraq.
The only way to Finish a War is to defeat the enemy. Not to build up the Frackin schools, roads, bridges, and all infrastructure just to have it blown up by these backward fools. Their religion and their lack of education does not make them good allies at all. Read about the wars that YHWH had the Israelites fight, that is the way to win a war.

Technically, yes, at the speed of light.
They have been AWAITING our withdrawal, since odumbo obama was dumb enough to ANNOUNCE a withdrawal, so they are PREPARED and waiting.
That means that when they SEE (we SEE @ the speed of light, btw)…
when they SEE us leave they will move in…
Thus, the time from our departure to the time they begin moving will be at the speed of light.

Actually we do not see at the speed of light, since it is impossible for information to be delivered from our eyes to the occipital lobe at that speed. The electrochemical activity necessary to relay thought (including sensory perception) is limited to around 30 or so meters per second. That is a far cry from the 3 x 10^8 meters per second that light travels at.

Since our nervous system is an information bottleneck, the true speed at which we process visual stimuli has an inverse relationship to the distance the object or event that we are viewing is located. Think of it like taking the interstate at 80 mph for 15 miles on your way home from work, and the remaining 1 mile being done at 30 mph. Average speed over the course of the journey is approximately 77 mph. If the distance on the interstate is cut in half, average speed becomes approximately 74 mph.

Same thing with our ability to see. Only since the speed of light is so much greater than the electrical transmission network of our nervous system, the bottleneck has a much lower effect so overall transmission speed from event to lobe is effectively much closer to the speed of light, but it will never equal it.

      Using c = 2.99792458 x 10^8 m/s
And generously assuming a thought transmission speed of 30 m/s
And assuming we are viewing an object from, say, a mile away
And estimating that the distance between lens of the eye and the occipital lobe is about 10 inches:

Overall speed from source to brain is approximately 2.99745 x 10^8 m/s
Or, in other words, a 47 meter per second difference, or 0.0000157% slower.

The man was IN the Military and not in some ***** KP duty – got it! I’ve no doubt that if Perry were President, the Secret Service would be running circles cuz the guy would hop Airforce {helicopter} and go take care of business by HIMSELF! OK- so apparently, America wants a great debater for a President…like we didn’t learn from the current one…all I can say is that this man, Perry, would cover his squads azzes vs. Obama who would wave a white flag AND GIVE $$$ to just be nice, Rommney who would let things slide, like Clinton did which DIRECTLY led to 9/11/01, or Paul who will further the coming of the 12th Iman….geez!

I got to tell you as a Veteran of the front line I didn’t watch my buddies die so that we could run up a 15 trillion dollar debt (and most of it being Iraq and Afghanistan) and hand the billions if not trillions of dollars in oil to the Iranians and the biggest local bad ass that can steal it and sell it on the black market. We took out a crazy leader, a man that gassed 250k+ of his own women, and children of Iraq. We gave women the right to vote, have a job, go to school etc. We handed them a Democracy and now they pay us nothing? We just foot the bill for these people, whom most of which want to kill us? Are you Kidding ME!! We need to stay their and protect our interests (start drilling their oil) to pay off our own debt and charge this economy a little. I think we’ve earned it.

Well Jonny we may agree more than we disagree. I was there on the front lines too and for us to spill our blood over there without receiving any compensation from the host nation is absolutely stupid by us. We been in Iraq how many years?? 10 years and we have not receive one dime for liberating them?? And so much of our blood have been spilled over there for what reason?? The more time we spend over there not being compensated, the more our debt rises. If we are not gonna collect, then I say bring everyone home. If they want us to stay over there to protect them from the big bad wolf, then they better pay us something in return. We can’t stay over there forever, Iraqis are big boys who should be able to defend their own homeland. The same go for Afghanistan too. We trained them long enough, it’s time for them to grow up and defend their own land..

I mean, its obvious as all hell we didnt take their oil as so many have claimed we did (gas prices anyone?) And while the iraqis I interacted with ranged from cool guys to shitbags, I dont think we were ever truly welcome. Here’s a metaphor, If someone kicked in the door to my house, emptied a mag into my entertainment center, tossed a grenade into my kitchen, shot my dog and then offered to move in and help me replace everything, I dont much care how long they stay or what they fix, Im mostly gonna remember the first impression. Well, Perry certainly does speak his mind and I admire that, but this position is not going to be embraced by many, and in my estimation it puts him very close to finished in this campaign. You can debate all day about whether clearing out of Iraq when we did was the right timing. Fact is, we are out now and folks don’t want our boys going back. The place is a powder keg ready to blow from within – even without the Iranians coming across the border. Even if we had the resolve, we could not afford the continued expense in dollars and young lives when the chances of success there are so abysmally low.

Why DR. Ron Paul is our best bet to beat Obama (more so than Romney)

We are ALWAYS told that elections are determined by the “independents and moderate”.. Well guess who wins those voters?

CNN did exit polling in Iowa and found the following (google cnn exit polls Iowa for more info)

    • Ron Paul won the Independent vote by more than 2:1 (43% to 19%) over Romney
    • Ron Paul won the Moderate vote by (40% to 35%) over Romney
    • Ron Paul won the first time voters by (33% to 17%) over Romney
    • For voters who want a “True Conservative” (37% to 1%) over Romney
    • Paul and Romney tied (26% each) for the urban vote – typically strong democratic vote.

Dont let the Media fool you that Romney is the only one who can beat Obama by “winning the Middle”

I was deployed there as part of the “surge” in ‘07 and in my 15 months I saw alot of improvements and headyway being made, especially in the ability of the Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army to handle themselves.
