Rick Santelli Blasts CNBC Guest For Calling Tea Partiers ‘Freaked Out White Men Who Are Unemployed’

Rick Santelli Blasts CNBC Guest For Calling Tea Partiers Freaked Out White Men Who Are UnemployedBanking analyst Meredith Whitney was made to eat her words on CNBC Wednesday after she called  Tea Party members “freaked out white men who are unemployed.” Rick Santelli, who appeared on the program shortly after Whitney’s rant, ended up launching into the CNBC contributor for her comments. And it got pretty heated.

Santelli stated that the last person who said anything close to what Whitney did was “King George” when he was referring to the “colonists.” Santelli inferred that Whitney would have thought our Founding Father’s were “angry” as well when he said, “I don’t need to rant… You know, those were our Founding Fathers.”

Santelli was responding to the following statement made by Whitney:

I would suggest that the debate is really around unemployment, and I think that, you know, call the Tea Party whatever you will, the fringe element is, you know, I characterize freaked out white men who are unemployed and have been unemployed for three years and they’re scared to death. And three to four million of them are just about to roll off of unemployment benefits in the next three months. So, this is only going to get worse. For this reason, you have to deal with structural issues. So, if you are a Machiavellian Democrat, you want to deal with this issue and defuse the Tea Party as fast as you possibly can, because this poses the biggest threat to their reelection I think in ’12.

NewsBuster’s Noel Sheppard adds:

For those unfamiliar with Santelli’s muni reference, Whitney has recently come under fire for having predicted eight months ago there would be widespread defaults by municipal bond issuers around the country this year.

As Bloomberg reported in July, during the first six months of 2011, muni defaults are down 60 percent compared to the same period last year.

Obviously aware of this, Santelli chose to pull that scab off in order to get back at the banking analyst.

Perhaps now CNBC guests would be well advised to steer clear of making negative remarks  about the Tea Party — at least in Santelli’s presence.

Watch for yourself here:

Um . . . the unemployed don’t pay income taxes, so why would they spend their energy with the tea party trying to reduce taxes? Logic is not her strong suit.

I‘m unemployed and I believe in the Tea Party because they’re right. It’s not about greed; it‘s about doing what’s right. I imagine most of the Tea Party is not unemployed though. From all the pictures I’ve seen, it looks like half of them are retired (exaggerating a bit :) ).
The Liberals are stuck in the class warfare mindset. They have no concept of simply doing what is right for themselves and for others. I know because I went to a Liberal college and in all the sociology classes, it’s all they talk about… class warfare, racism, slavery, and there’s no such thing as good and evil. It’s the only way they know how to think and they will not listen to anyone that disagrees with their insane ideology. They’ve gotten away with this for too long. Thanks to the Tea Party, Glenn Beck and Fox News, people are seeing, for the first time, the corruption of and indoctrination by the Liberal Socialists that have infiltrated the media, the public school system, Liberal churches, and the entertainment business. Talk radio and blogs alone were not enough.

I’ve met someone like that. She was on drugs and prostituted herself to blacks. My friend and I talked to her to try and talk sense into her. Neither of us ever mentioned race, we were talking about her prostituting. She said, “You’re just racists! I’m not a racist. In fact, I think black people are better than whites!” She was angry. I just walked away realizing drugs and Liberal stupidity had damaged her mind to its core. She couldn’t even see that she was being used and abused by the men she was blindly believed were better people than we who were trying to help her.

To some point, she does bring up a a crucial point. I have been unemployed and while it sucks, it has given me the opportunity to finally see what is actually going on in the world. While many of us had been working, living a good life and going about our business, we were not paying attention. We voted based on brief news clips and political ads. That is what the politicians had going for them for the past 10-20 years. No one was awake. So I have been sharing what I have learned with my working family and friends, who are starting to wake up (Finally). When you look at the number of people who have been unemployed throughout the past 3-4 years, we can only hope that 1/2 have paid attention and pass the information along. I think that is what has happened. Am I a white, unemplyed TEA partier, NO. I am an educated and well informed American who will make sure to spread the message.

Sure. Santelli really looked great in that clip. He compared the Tea Party to the Founding Fathers. Awesome, I believe that. He seemed to suggest that angry, unemployed people are happy the their unemployment benefits are about to run out because, you know, they’re like the Founding Fathers. Boy, that woman will never make that comment again, whatever it was! She said there could be “widespread defaults by municipal bond issuers around the country this year.“ Of course there were ”widespread defaults”, but they are down 60%! Touche Santelli!

Whatever. The woman gave her un-PC opinion that the TP consisted mostly of angry, unemployed white guys, and Santelli made a ludicrous analogy to King George and tried to “pick a scab” about some past predicition this person made. Real class. But again, you read the lead-in, then watch the video through the eyes the Blaze gives you. Like very, very young people.

Typical Sol Alinsky deamonization is what you heard from her.
The TP is not about race and never has been. Our chapter has a black ex-Air Force officer who speaks regularly and happens to be very respected. He sees what is going on with regards to racist remarks like the ones made by the bimbo at msnbc. That idiot seems to ignore J Wright‘s rants at Obama’s church of 20 years. She probably is ok with the attacks on whites at the Wisconsin fair, too.
Those remarks just make us TP’ers stronger. Oh, and btw, I don’t think too many at our meetings are unemployeed.

decendentof56, what was it she said? That the Tea Party is mostly white people?
And your objection is that you know a black guy who is in the TP?

Sorry decedent, nobody is talking about racism here. I’m just talking numbers. The US is about 12% black, and about 15% mexican, asian and so on. The TP is not anything like 25% minority. I’d be utterly surprised if it was even 1%, including your friend.

That doesn’t mean the TP is racist, although opinions differ on whether that shoe fits. But the simple math is that the TP simply doesn’t appeal to the vast majority of minorities (if you know what I mean). Stare at a photograph of the crowd at GBs rally at the Lincoln memorial, or any TP rally. Count the number of minority members (not the PR shots, the crowd shots). Actually, if you can find one minority member there, you get a bonus.

I am also an employed Tea Party Patriot. My guess at why progressive socialists see the tea party this way is because most people with jobs don’t have a lot of time for political rallies, so one might see a lot of retired people organizing and attending these things. Only when they started seeing younger people there did they make up the “unemployed” tag. The race thing is not a reflection of the type of people who would relate to our cause, but a reflection of the reality of the state of African/American culture in the United States and the fact that the majority of blacks are being used by progressive socialists for their own political ends. I think the black population is open to the truth though, and more and more will see liberty and responsibility as a way out of the socialist misery the Dems constantly peddle to them. They will see that individualism is better than living in the race based box the dems want to keep them in. I welcome all liberty lovers, no matter the color.

“freaked out white men who are unemployed and have been unemployed for three years and they’re scared to death.”

Umm I am one of them and Im not freaked out. I am royally PO’d! Am I wide awake on whats going on b/c of this DEPRESSION we are in? YES Oh an I dont get a dime of govt money either. So your figure of 3-4 million is way off too, Id say double it at the least Meredith. We are just punching bags for whomever is on air like yourself looking to trash ppl for your “journalistic” goals and pushing your final prophecies! Again kudos to Santelli standing up for us this guy is so restrained when he speaks even when he goes on the attack. Love to hear him really speak his mind. http://SavingtheRepublic.com

Tell a lie often enough and it will soon be the truth….. not an exact quote but you get the point…. We the American People – THE TEA PARTY have to be destroyed so that this administration can continue to put this country on a path of decay. I have never seen such a divide in our country, the administration and the media will regret their decision in 2012….

He called her on her comment. The “snarkiness” as you call it, is to point out her feigned innociece!

She either thought she was sharing a “private joke” (yea, right on a national cable program), or she thought others would agree with her (well, guess what libs, not everyone does!). Or, when called on it she had to feign stupidity about WHY someone would disagree with her.

      Maybe her stupidity wasn’t feigned!

I’m a little confused as to what the liberals really think the Tea Party is. At first, I believe they were described as a bunch of old, white-haired racists. Next, they were extreme right wingers. Recently they were described as Hobbits and terrorists. Now, they are described as fearful, unemployed white men? It seems to me that liberal journalists must live in deep, dark caves that don’t have access to the Internet and communicate via smoke signals–no I take that back. Indian smoke signals were more reliable with their information. My apologies to our Native Americans.

how about we have massive cuts to the federal employees. I’d rather pay them $1300 a month in unemployment than $7,000-$8,000 on average a month for a job we do not need.

Exactly, though those media sorts edit out any non whites within the tea party. I known plenty of people of all sorts of ethnic groups that are proud tea party members. But then again I expect nothing different from the progressive left. They are completely insane.
