Rick Santorum Looks Ahead Following Fourth-Place Nevada Finish

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum was in Colorado, not Nevada, Saturday night to see his disappointing fourth-place finish in the Silver State’s Republican caucuses. With a Nevada win eminent for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, a still optimistic Santorum told CNN that he expects to do better Tuesday when caucuses will be held in Minnesota and Colorado, as well as the Republican primary in Missouri:

“If you’re a swing voter, who are you going to believe?” Santorum said to a crowd packed into a hotel ballroom in Colorado’s Western Slope earlier in the day. “America is not looking for well-oiled weather vanes. They are looking for leaders.”

The Associated Press reports that Santorum will head to Minnesota late Saturday where he has planned a full day on Sunday, including a church visit and a stop at the factory that produces the sweater vests his campaign sells for $100 each to raise money.

Since winning the first-in-the-nation Iowa Caucuses, Santorum has placed fifth in New Hampshire, third in South Carolina, third in Florida and fourth in Nevada.

Everyone wants to be President. Even I want to be President. But Rick Santorum, you will never be President. I know politicians have big egos that causes some of them to deny reality, but you, sir, are taking that to extremes. Had you gotten out weeks ago and thrown your support behind Gingrich, we might not now be facing the prospects of watching one far-left loon, Obama, battling it out with a liberal Republican destined to lose. Thanks Rick. You guys are unbelievable!

I don’t want to be President, but I do want to fix it. Vote me in & watch. I wouldn’t do it for the perks, I would bring the nation back because I believe in our rights & I would like to see us re-instated where we should be. With radical changes I could turn it around in four years, eight would be better to stabilize everything. But I could do it in one. I would do it for the love of this country & I would not expect anything other than the opportunity to do the right things. I would reduce the pay levels of all government back to amounts that are commensurate with what regular working class people make. It was never supposed to be a career, but an honor to serve this country. I would serve the people & be glad of it. So decide… You all want the right thing to happen? By the people, for the people. I‘m voting conservative Santorum because I don’t believe in serving self-interests so I can’t even vote for myself.

Rick Santorum is a fringe candidate. His theocratic beliefs are not shared by the majority of Americans. He has zero appeal to Democrats or Independents. Gingrich is weighed down with his unsavory behaviour both in his private life and in his public life. Romney at least seems like he may be a capable manager.

Ron Paul strikes me as the only truly likeable and trustworthy Republican candidate. I completely agree with his policies on the Drug War and Foreign relations. But of course, no Democrat or Independent would support his proposal to dismantle so much of the Federal government. I certainly wouldn’t. ButI hope that President Obama will keep in mind how many Americans agree with Ron Paul on the Drug Policy and War issues and incorporate these policies into his own governing plan.

Democrats will vote for 0bama and independents are going conservative for the most part. Most people don’t vote for a candidate based on their religion. I have never seen and therefore never voted for a candidate who believes exactly as I do and I doubt anybody else has. If you believe exactly like any candidate on all points, you probably need to have a good look at yourself.

I have been on the fence since the mid point of Bush’s 2nd term about leaving the Republican party and becoming a registered independent. The only reason I have not to this point was the rise of the Tea Party and the influence I hoped that it would have on changing the GOP. Another worthless primary has made that seem unlikely. I am joining the local Tea Party/912 Project group soon and have already learned that the Ohio Republican Party is in battle with the Tea influence, so I think the real battles will be fought locally and statewide before it can be waged on the national level.

If you agree with the military industrial complex and want undeclared wars, military intervention into foreign countries while we spiral into massive debt then go right ahead.

Just remember the people who started the Tea Party back in 2007 and look at where it is now and who they endorse.

The problems of the United States are now too big to be overcome. The country’s debt can NEVER be repaid and default is inevitable. It is not going to matter who is president. The Titanic will sink. Nearly half of the country is drawing government benefits. The only hope we have now is, after the total collapse, the people will be on their own and those who survive can start something new in government that remains limited and can function on a very basic level.

Can’t verify truth of this, but that‘s why I’m voting Santorum & drawing up suggestions for government cuts on my own. I will submit them to my reps. if he wins. If not, I will probably be off the grid as soon as possible because I think it will fail with anyone else in office. I believe most Fed. level government positions can be consolidated to local levels & everything except military concerns & stabilization of national economy can be put on temp. hold ’til we stop subsisting on borrowed foreign funds.

Santorum had the endorsement of Tea Party darling, Sharon Angle. On Friday night, Angle publicly appeared on Santorum’s behalf for the first time in Nevada. The event can only be categorized as a disaster.

“Twenty-eight people showed up, including Angle’s handlers, Santorum’s local staff, and one attendee’s two kids,” the Las Vegas Sun reported. “Stepping up to a microphone and smiling, Angle tried to make the best of an obviously bad situation.”

Santorum‘s landslide loss in Nevada comes a day after Indiana officials announced that he had failed to qualify for that state’s ballot in May. Santorum vowed to challenge the decision, but it put a dent in the campaign, making it look disorganized.

Think of it as a game with money at stake, a socio-predict-the-masses game. They want to control everything & tell everyone what to do. I believe it’s a form of self-delusion, but then again, I am not swayed by things like money. Money is a form of exchange & it is not everything. Earned respect is far more valuable. Living well without living rich is a good thing. Being a real Christian is a way of life, not a church on Sundays. Wisdom is the ultimate goal. Truth is a choice not an option. Politicians are generally corrupt because they are bored with themselves & therefore useless. Therefore they play. If they were useful, they would be occupied in a gainful fashion. Even if they were occupied by today’s definition of the word, someone would be sitting on them & they would be more useful that way than where they are now. The nation’s people could live without them… Think about it. What do they do for us?

BIGDEG, something to think about with Iran — I copied it from a Syrian man and thought it pinpointed the problem:

Israel and the US are openly talking about an attack on Iran and Syria, which would quickly draw Russian and Chinese interest into the conflict. Setting the stage for a World War 3 scenario. It is the Wests war mongering, and all out quest of conquere that is threatening humanity and the global community.

Iran basically has two choices. Either go the Saddam Hussein / Iraq, Gaddafi / Lybija way,… trying to please the West as much as possible by making concessions over concessions, dismantling and disarming, to the point that they are teethless and get invaded after all (like Libyia).

Or go the other direction (North Koreas foreign policy) and stand strong against the Imperialists. History has shown, the West only invades countries that overly cooperate with the UN and disarm themselfs like Iraq, and leave countries alone that can present a credible defense.

Thats why obtaining nuclear weapon could be the only way for Iran to archieve peace and security. As long as they dont have a weapon that impresses Israel and the US, they will always appear weak and vulnerable. Only the nuclear powers in this world are safe.

The Iranian Mullahcracy absolutely loves Ron Paul, and for Iran’s propaganda war against the West… Ron Paul is a beloved ally of the Islamofascists in Tehran.

The enemies of the USA love to interview and quote him for their propaganda purposes against this country and the West of whom they seek to either destroy or subjugate to Sharia Law.

One of the major key reasons for my long opposition to this usurper-Republican running for the presidency for the 3rd time, is his absolutely insane and moronic positions regarding foreign policy, notwithstanding his anti-Jew conspiratorialist agenda and past racism that only now, some of his own former associates are beginning to bring to the public’s attention.

As further evidence of what I consider to be Jane Fona-esque treason, whether willful or by clueless idiocy, Ron Paul provides the enemies of the United States, his own anti-American platform and anti-semitic positions to arm themselves with ammunition to wage their own war against the infidel Great and Little Satan.

Ron Paul stated he would have never gone to war against the Nazis (and definitely not to save Jews from the Holocaust), so we can assume he would also not dare raise a hand against the Islamofascist’s in Iran either. In fact, the Jihadist regime play video of Ron Paul justifying their “right” to make and have nuclear weapons. This, after Ahmadinejad stated Iran had a right to USE nuclear weapons and promising Israel will be ‘wiped off the map’. A more dangerous and clueless nut job cannot be found, excepting only that Hussein Obama II runs a close second to Paul’s dangerous insanity.

The enemies of America and the West have an ally in Ron Paul, and the current occupant of the White House. For the Jihadists, their future seems bright. God help us all, as blinding brightness may one day visit our cities if either of these two clowns continue in the chair at 1600 Pennsylvania.

Have you all not noticed their general paranoia about an armed populace or people taking matters into their own hands? They are all dirty & Gringrich is daring them to try & take him down because I have no doubt he would expose them as well. We all lose at that point. It’s a game to them & a house of cards at best. There may be truth to the proposed opinions that he is not mentally stable. He could have an underlying condition from all his philandering. STD’s are nothing to scoff at & some are not treatable & some don’t present symptoms in men until later in life. We don’t need a potential problem, we need a conservative. Rick, give it up already and come back home to Pa. We don’t even understand WHY you are running for President when we kicked you out of the Senate and got a great man in Senator Pat Toomey.

I voted agains Santorum because he backed Specter for re-election! As it turned out his endorsement was highly instrumental in the appointment of Justice Roberts to the Supreme Court, giving conservatives a slim 5-4 majority. Specter turned out to be a non-starter and Toomey is marginal at best! I accept Santorum’s explanation and will support him now and in the future! He is the only true conservative running for president! Go Rick! Don’t give up! Stay to the end!

I still think a Romney-Paul ticket would be practically unbeatable.

Only if I believed that Paul wouldn’t be treated the same way Obama treats Biden, and would instead have some actual sway over the running of this country despite his VP berth. Otherwise, VP is really irrelevant unless you are trying to launch a political career from the office, IMO.

That said, I’d consider voting for the Romney-Paul ticket. But if Paul isn’t on the ticket, this Republican voter is going to write him in.

I wonder what Newt will complain about when Santorum outright WINS Missouri (not just a second place to Romney).

Keep dreaming. Santorum was only able to win Iowa because he practically lived there – he has no chance in Missouri or anywhere else. He’s even railed against the Pursuit of Happiness, and most people find that offensive in a supposed conservative politician, if not downright crazy.

Santorum along with Newt are not on the ballot in alot of states. Those states have like 500 plus delegates. Its almost a no shot of either of them getting the nomination.

This race is between Romney and Paul. For all the people that know Romney is a progressive and has no issues he can fight Obama on its time to wake up and go for a candidate that can actually put Obama’s views on trial.

Ron Paul 2012. I will be writing his name in if I have to.
