Via Weasel Zippers comes the story.
The Hill reports:
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine.) said Friday that she will not support the 2012 budget passed by the House last week.
“I don‘t happen to support Congressman Ryan’s plan but at least he had the courage to put forth a plan to significantly reduce the debt,“ Collins said on ”In the Arena” a program on WCSH 6, a local NBC affiliate in Portland, Maine.
Collins is the first Republican senator to state publicly that she will not support the Ryan budget.
The plan, crafted by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), would cut $5.8 trillion in spending over 10 years and transform Medicare into a sort of voucher system, among other measures, to balance the budget by 2040 without raising taxes.

Maybe the republican party of Maine is a cover up for a real democrat party.
RINO…well, YES…she is not a true Republican by any means.
If her people in Maine don’t care…then outside powers need to take the Republican party in Maine in hand and get a real Republican candidate and push her out.

Our House and Senate just passed a right to work bill with a veto proof majority – which will make us the ONLY state in the enite north east with such a law. We don’t have gun reistration in the state and they are working on a concealed carry w/out a permit law. Posted on April 23, 2011 at 12:03amBack in the ’60s, my seventh grade reading teacher (70 year old Mrs. Upton ) told us to always be vigilant because the Russians promised to take over America without ever firing a shot. Khrushchev had banged his shoe on the podium and said “We will bury you”. He or someone else went on to explain that it would take 30 years, but they would take over the colleges and universities, the news media, the democratic political party, turn our lower education system upside down, and end capitalism. In those days, the only people that were allowed to leave Russia were English speaking college professors bound for the USA.

The inmates served their purpose in the last election, but now smart people are trying to steer the ship away from the fringe, a fringe that leads to defeat in the next election.
Jan Brewer vetoed a birther bill and a gun bill. Republicans are trying to marginalize Trump (not Democrats, they love Trump and his campaign). Bachman caved on the birther issue. Romney is being smart by staying out of the news and avoid association with the loony stuff.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but some smart people somewhere are telling Republicans to stop trying to appeal to the fringe and start trying to appeal to the moderates and independents. Posted on April 23, 2011 at 8:08amThe thing is that the Republicans who are holding town halls this week – and who voted for this budget in the House – are also running away from the Ryan budget in their own district’s Town Halls. One declares that what what he voted for wasn‘t the REAL budget but simply a ’road map’; another tells an attendee to ‘Shut-up and sit down’ when that constituent was critical of the budget vote. There are many clips from this week’s Town Halls – which have already been aired in public – and probably more to come. Even Ryan himself was booed at his own Town Hall. Go figure!!
Remembering back to the TeaParty disruptions at the Democratic Town Halls in 2009, I see that the tables have turned and it is no longer the ‘bussed in’ Tea Party Express types who are questioning the Congress-people. It is THEIR OWN constituents.
That tells me that folks are becoming more educated about what is going on in DC.

Posted on April 23, 2011 at 8:31amHow many SENIORS on this site really want their Social Security payments to be cut, changed or delayed??
How many seniors on this site want to see their Medicare disassembled so that they have to look in the private market for policies they can afford as their medical needs become greater as they age – only to find that that insurance policy DOES NOT cover their needs??
How many poor or needy folks on this site want to see the Jan Brewer type of Medicaid adjustments enacted?? That is the one where NO ONE on Medicaid can be eligible for transplants or critical care?? Talk about Death Panels!!
Does anyone on this site want to see these changes for their own parents or grandparents – or for themselves as they age????
Does anyone here agree that their children’s education is so UNIMPORTANT that public school funding should be cut by 25% and class sizes grow to 60 or more?? And do you agree that graduates should NOT have the opportunity of attending college??
Does anyone here actually believe that oil company’s and big business tax loopholes should be made permanent – so that the Exxon/Mobiles and the GEs of this country pay NO taxes?? Just a couple of weeks ago this site was full of those who were objecting to the ZERO taxes paid by GE!
How many people in the area of Tennessee where that massive ‘sludge spill’ (of a year or so ago) that poisoned the drinking water are happy to see that same company get away with more devastation??
Does anyone here welcome the taxes for the very wealthy further reduced while the above programs are cut for children, the elderly, the needy and the ill?
If your answer to any of these questions is a resounding YES, then go ahead and SUPPORT the Ryan Budget.
Thank you Senator Collins!

Sorry guys, you’re a lot more of this. Adults are are taking back the asylum from the inmates.
You guys hate it I’m sure. But it worries me as a Democrat to think that someone or some group, actually understands that the fringe isn’t going to decide the next election.
———————————
hey communist – wanna make a bet on that? sure Mitt sits out, he is the progressives best bet and hope for the Republican nomination, may you twist in the wind.

(skip the GOP) I have made it a regular part of my budget to give to anyone who is willing to work hard defeat these people. You can think of it this way, you can give now until it hurts, investing in a bright and free future for your kids and grandkids, or you can put it in a savings account, 401k, or other investment, and watch as Tim Geitner and Ben Bernake inflate the money supply so much that you will be paying $45.00 for a loaf of bread soon. Think it can’t happen? That’s what you used to say about $5.00 per gallon gasoline too. Believe it!

Posted on April 23, 2011 at 11:45amThere is a Twilight Zone show where 12 yearolds take a government test and the parents are called with the results. The call comes in and they are told “Your son has scored an I.Q. above the government limit. How do you want to dispose of the body?. ” I guess those who score below the government limit are allowed to run for Congress and the Presidency!

I support the Ryan budget. I especially like the 25% cut to Public Education. Do you REALLY believe that all that Federal money trickles down to the students?!
What budget plan do you support? President Dunham’s?! He DOESN’T have one!

Posted on April 23, 2011 at 2:33pmIf anyone primaries her I’m donating! The fact is if you don‘t balance the budget you can’t call cuts deficit reduction. You’re not reducing anything, you are still adding to it. ANYONE who calls it deficit reduction is a LIAR. The Ryan budget doesn’t even balance the budget. It’s not enough. Susan and her liberal friends are stealing from our children. This is child abuse, she is a child abuser. At what point do we say enough is enough and you folks in Washington are going to jail? It should be a crime for congress to spend more than they have. What I say is, get a rope. Because that‘s what it’s coming to. Look at the Middle East, that‘s going to be America in a few years if these crooks aren’t voted out of office.

Preserving the government set up by the wisdom of the framers of the constitution, wanting a federal government limited to the powers enumerated by the constitution that they SWORE to uphold is, according to you, fringe thought.
Placing faith in such a massively ineffective, corrupt den of thieves that will never reform this federal government because it would mean reliquishing power is, according to you, smart. Do you really believe that? Are the only smart people in Washington? Like the one’s who think islands can capsize? The lunar rover is on Mars? That think there are 57 states? You‘ll find those genius’ in both parties. They are smart only by means of amassing money and power through coercion by taxation and donations (favors) and not through creation of wealth and productivity. In other words a job that produces something.
The birther issue is not an issue as demonstrated by Brewer. It’s only an issue kept alive by pundits as a political tool.
Remarks as the ones you make truly show that you don’t honestly think independently. I try not to get into any name calling but you are duped (as I once was) or are a tool, willingly so or not. Your fooling yourself JZS. Your life and everbody elses life wouldn’t suddenly go into the crapper if you had to take up more responsibility on the personal, local and state level. Placing your faith in any political system that only seeks to enrich themselves and create dependency for future votes is foolish. Freedom: the maximum absence of coercion. It works for all people.

Posted on April 23, 2011 at 8:19pmThat is what happens when a state’s Republican party leadership is thoroughly co-opted by the Socialists. Maine voters haven’t had any real choice for Senator in several decades; they are given only the choice between Lib-Original and Lib-Light. Some choice.

Posted on April 23, 2011 at 11:39pmHey Billy. Wait, my sould isn’t vacant. How dare you? My soul is okay.
As far as the word “marxism”, is that different from “communism?” Can you explain the difference to me, I’ve been confused about that. Communism is an economic system (which has always failed by the way), but is Marxism the same as that? Or are you you just using that word as an insult? That’s what I believe. Or maybe you will give us an definition here (hint: use the web).
You say the word “Marxism” but you couldn’t define in a way that would satisfy a high school teacher probably. Maybe you can prove me wrong. You’ve got time, and you’ve got the web. I’m not even going to talk about something a university political science professor would require as a satsifactory answer because, you know, that’s college stuff.
So when you says my posts “reek of marxism” perhaps you can give me your definition of “marxism”. Seriously Billy, I think you’re wrong about me be a “marxist.” But I’m sure you can explain why I am. Remember the Blaze is watching you!
