RNC Chair Fires Back at Chris Matthews After Tense Exchange: Took Prize for ‘Biggest Jerk in the Room’

Following this morning’s blow up by Chris Matthews during a segment with RNC Chair Reince Priebus on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Priebus spoke with a small group of reporters inside the Google Lounge at the convention center and offered his reaction, throwing out the term “biggest jerk.”
TheBlaze was on hand and asked the question, “Mr. Chairman, on Chris Matthews… when you went to commercial after the conflict with Chris Matthews, was there anything said between the two of you? Did you shake hands? Was there a hug?
Mr. Priebus answered the question fully for TheBlaze, and delivered one of the classic lines from the convention today:
“When someone wants to take the prize of being the biggest jerk in the room, he made the case for us.”
Priebus also said the the two shook hands and that someone from MSNBC had been trying to call him all day, possibly to make amends. And while he said no amends was needed, he did refer to Matthews as an Obama “surrogate.”
But he wasn’t done there. After mentioning that hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski were unhappy with Matthews, he took a parting shot, saying that “if more than 10 people actually watched his show I’d actually care.”
After our question and a follow up about future appearances on MSNBC, we informed the chairman that his MSNBC segment was the #1 story on TheBlaze today.
He smiled.

1. Doing something and then accusing others of doing it. For example-RACE BAITING. Sara Palin, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Allen West have all race baited in 2012. And NO GOP Anarchists’ said anything about it. Yet, when Biden used a metaphor to elude to Wall Street’s binding the middle class, the conservatives jumped on it like flies to a rotted fish.
2. Labels a network biased, if it does not pander to their Anarchist ideology. Calling MSNBC commies. While the Racist FOX and Rush Limbaugh shows do nothing but brain wash it’s sheep, with fear and conspiracy theories.
3. Fear Mongering, this is a tried and true tactic of conservatives. You all have been trying for years to scare white people, who have little to no contact with African Americans and Latinos, by making them seem so foreign and un American. Which shows that you think they are idiots, who don’t know that there are tons of minorities who have contributed greatly to this country. And who are upstanding, law abiding citizens, who work hard for their success, the same way we do.
And the last thing conservatives are good at (DRUM ROL PLEASE) drumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumdrumSYMBOL.
4. They are great at lying to themselves that they are winning, when they know darn well that they are losing.

1) What is your definition of “race baiting”? It’s easy to throw around accusations, but can you provide just one example of the people you mentioned race baiting? Usually, the left can’t, which is why the come back argument is something like “Oh, c’mon, everyone knows it!” then change the subject to something else. So step up, do the left proud, make your case!
2) Another common tactic is calling anyone that disagrees with your POV a racist. How is Rush Limbaugh and Fox News racist? As mentioned in #1, do you have anything that you can point to showing how racist they are? As a watcher of MSNBC to see what they are saying, the political opinion shows (Mathews, Maddow, etc.) are VERY biased to the left. I can give you specific examples if you would like. One is Chris Matthews and what he said with regards to this very story! Got lots more, just ask, be happy to belt them out.
3) This is another popular phrase that is used to describe conservatives from the left. What are conservatives doing that is “Fear Mongering”? By telling people a different POV? By warning the public that if we continue down the path we are on that the country is in serious trouble? What if that’s true? Should they not say anything so that they don’t scare anyone?
4) Look at any poll. Really, take your pick. Even the ones that are biased show that the majority of Americans think that the country is on the wrong path.

Hmm, I was selected as a delegate in my hometown, and what I saw was an overwhelming vote for Romney by the public who voted in the primary; however almost all the people left after casting a ballot, so almost no-one saw that the people who stayed behind were Paulistinians who ignored the will of the people who voted and elected each other to the delegate slots at the national level. Strange, but that’s exactly what happened when Obama was elected, on top of all the fraud.
The problem with Ron Paul is 10% his policies, and 90% dishonesty by his supporters, who seem to subscribe to the lefty mantra that the end justifies the means- so screw the public and the rule of law.

Withing a year, I knew this wasn’t going to happen so my wife and I moved out of the country. Where did we move? To a country that we are a 12 % minority and where there is no thought of color. Our black friends here, and we have many, think it is atrocious that the US black population separate themselves by calling themselves African American. They say there is no other country that does that. There are no African Candadians, Afircan Jamaicans, African Dominicans, etc. The term was only brought about to cause division and separation. Yes, they can be proud to be black, but they are Americans. I and my wife are of German decent, but have never called ourselves German Americans. Even though we live in an almost totally black nation, we love it here and most of all we love the people. So don’t get yourself off by saying that conservatives are racist. Racism is when 95% of the black people in America vote Democratic. Just proves that they are doing what they are told and not even thinking about Obama doing nothing for the poor black communities while in office. Every thing has gotten worse for them and the Latino community. But they will listen to the talking heads on the mainstream media. Your want to get away from prejudice? Posted on August 27, 2012 at 4:40pmChrissie was really upset at Priebus….I guess it‘s pretty difficult to defend Obama’s increasing the debt by $6trillion and an unemployment rate over 8% for Obama’s entire tenure.
If I was Priebus I‘d have added that Obama’s advisor and former head of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Don Berwick is on record as being “in love” with Britain’s national health service…so yes..Priebus was right on the money by saying Obamacare is a step towards a European model.
And much like Chrissie Tingles Matthews doesn’t like anyone to question Obama, Berwick doesn’t want the great unwashed questioning Obamacare..just obey…

Gov Romney made a joke — a funny joke, not awkward, not bad, not off the mark. You say it was a joke and if the Pres and his minions cannot take a joke — then they are losers, and egos that must be checked. The Prez has made jokes == and everyone yucks it up. Do not ever while on TV, radio or interview apologize for what our candidates say or do — unless it is unlawful. WE need support not criticism which will be picked up by the media and used over and over again. We look weak and you Mr. Chairman look wimpy.
