Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus on Sunday called Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid a "dirty liar" for claiming Mitt Romney has not paid his taxes. (AP Photos)
Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus called Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid a “dirty liar” for accusing Mitt Romney of not paying his taxes for 10 years.
Reid (D-Nev.) made the claim in an interview last month, saying a Bain Capital investor had told him Romney “didn’t pay any taxes for 10 years.” Romney strongly denounced the accusation, saying last week it was false and that Reid needs to “put up or shut up.”
“As far as Harry Reid is concerned, listen,” Priebus said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.“ ”I‘m not going to respond to a dirty liar who hasn’t filed a single page of tax returns himself, complains about people with money but lives in the Ritz Carlton here down the street.”
Priebus called Reid’s claim a “made-up issue“ and said it was ”ridiculous” to spend time talking about it.
“You say you’re not going to respond but you just called him a dirty liar,” host George Stephanopoulos said. “You stand by that, you think Harry Reid’s a dirty liar?”
“I just said it,” Priebus replied.
Priebus’ Democratic counterpart, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, also appeared on “This Week” but declined to criticize Reid over the issue.
“Everybody is responsible for saying the things that they have information on,” the Florida congresswoman said. “I know that this question is not just generated by Harry Reid. It’s been asked by countless reporters, by voters that want to know more about Mitt Romney’s finances. What is he hiding?”
Wasserman Schultz said Romney could clear the issue up “in 10 seconds” by releasing more of his tax returns.
“He could clear it up just like that, lickety-split, by releasing his tax returns, which every major candidate for president of the United States has done except for Mitt Romney,” she said.

Harry should open the last 10 years of his tax returns.
Debbie should open 23 years of her tax returns and the Seniors in her district should dump her.
Her scare tactics are misinformation. She does not talk about the 15 panels of non-doctor-bureaucrats who will deny new or existing medical tests or treatments for Seniors when Obamacare is fully implemented. Seniors will be the ones who pay, in lowered health care, for the uninsured.

Those would be Dingy Harry Reid, Debbie Wassaman-Schultz, and Nancy Pelosi. Of the current 535 members of Congress only 17 have ever released any tax returns. So far, Romney has released the same number of tax returns as did John Kerry when he ran against Bush. Two. JZS was trying to say that Kerry had released 20 years of tax returns. That’s true, but only in total. He has released previous returns as he ran for the senate five times. I’m impressed that Kerry did this, but after all, the real money is in his wife’s returns.

The truth about his tax returns. Look I dont believe he cheated on this taxes. I do believe though he could have very well paid little to no taxes over the past twelve years. We dont know for sure. The real problem I have is Romney has allowed this to become a issue. Every time this comes up, the focus is on Romney not Obama. Romney cannot win this election with any focus on him because his policies are garbage just like Obama’s. He has to keep the focus on Obama and talking about Romney’s taxes every day is not keeping the focus on Obama.
If it comes out that Romney paid little to no tax over the past 12 years would anyone care? I wouldnt, as long as he didnt cheat. So why wont he release them? You cannot say “well the left will just call him rich” yeah we know, they already do that. The only reason not to release them is there is something embarrassing in them. The left media is not going to let this go. They smell blood in the water. So he better be up front with it. If there is something horrible in it, there is still time to replace Romney(which would be the best thing that has happened to the GOP in a long time).

Sometimes, in business, people negotiate but they learn to not negotiate with themselves. The Feds require less tax returns disclosed than what Romney is releasing (two years), so unless The Feds change the rule / regulation as to how many years of tax returns the candidate should release then it’s not worth talking about… Mutiny, have you ever considered the thought that you post too much? Why not scour through the 2 years taxes that you do have? What do you see in those returns that you don’t like? 8 million a year in taxes paid to the feds to flush down the toilet not enough?
Dirty Liar Reid, the disgusting little man, is lying and we (common sense Americans) know it….Mutiny said also, “It throws Harry Reid under the bus and this could be used to get rid of his his next election” Well foolish Mutiny, your thinking is so transparent and flawed. The unique thing about Ron Paul acolytes is that they never have to worry about winning an election. They get to comfort themselves with platitudes and self-righteous cliches about being the only ones really fighting the good fight. They can protest every candidate, or every bill, but never get their own candidates elected, or get their own bills passed. Like LEFT COAST, they are the quintessential man outside the ring, looking at the two boxers fighting, telling the other bystanders around you how bad the two men fighting are. It is pathetic.

Just admit you want the government to control your life Time. If you allow them to take over things not allowed in the Constitution they will creep into all parts of your life. Posted on August 5, 2012 at 3:10pmTime_2, If what you say about Paul’s foreign policy is correct that it is progressive, then George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were progressives in your eyes. Ron Paul is for “Just War Principles” and is a defencist, the use of war only in defense and as a last resort, in his philosophy. The neoconservative philosophy is to use sanctions and war to spread democracy through aggression (interventionism).
Report Post »Ron Paul is not against war like pacifists are, he believes that when we go to war, it is not just the leaders that are responsible for the horrors that a war brings, but the citizens responsibility also. Therefore, his philosophy requires the permission of the people before taking on such a horrible task, as war, through a declaration from Congress.
You see, most people do not understand Paul’s principles, as they only get a few soundbites and hear from the media that he is crazy. But if you look at his philosophies, you would see that they are more in tune to our founding fathers, more in line with Constitutional principles, and put the power to the people, where it should have been all along.
You just have a neoconservative view in which you like war and the money it generates, and in my mind, that is partly, if not completely evil in nature.

i went to the article. Dont know much about the fine details to be honest with you. Cancelling the joint strike force fighter wasnt a bad idea. The general premise is that we either reduce military spending, or we go bankrupt…… i would rather have the former.
I knew you were confused about what a ‘progressive’ is. A progressive is someone who thinks a bigger government can solve the problems of society. Someone to the left of a progressive believes the opposite. Truth be told, most of the founders were against standing armies. I guess someone could call them radical anti-progressives.

Frontpagemag’s editor is David Horowitz, who has had a hard time through life deciding who or what he is. He was raised by a Communist family who thought they were spies. He then went to Europe, where he thought he was Marxist. He came back to America and considered himself a liberal, then he found Ronald Reagan and decided to vote for him. He admits that he was a supporter of Bush’s interventionist policy in the Bush Doctrine (neoconservative). He has also been accused of racist ideologies and he has been married four times.
“We cannot be serious about reining in federal government spending if we take the military budget off the table, We must focus our resources on defending the United States rather than on building and maintaining an unsustainable trillion dollar empire overseas.” – Ron Paul

There WILL BE over twenty thousand active duty military and veterans for Ron Paul at the convention in Tampa, look for them, not all of them served during actual war time, I guess, according to you two, they are nothing.

Ron Paul Vets are for the most part the whiners that couldn’t cut the heavy lfting of their obligations, drummed out of the Service for poor Service records, a lack of coping skills where hard work is the norm, whined about being taken out of their “Military bennie” Reserve/Guard college classes to actually have and go do something for their country in a combat arena and PO’d about it, Service record embellishers, disgruntled Kerry and Murtha Vet types, bunker mentality Vets, Jane Fonda impersonators, Vets that see Bradley Manning as hero instead of a traitor, Adam Kokesh as a font of Military professionalism and knowledge etc, etc, etc…

At the end of the day, it is all about doing what the Constitution requires. If you cant see past your own spin, then you are have other things to be concerned about.

We have to cut military spending. We have to cut all spending. Are you people not seeing we are going into bankruptcy? We are add 1 trillion plus in debt every year and Romney doesnt stop it. Do you honestly think we can keep spending like this.
Since you brought up Ron Paul and his cuts in spending. He never said one time to cut defense spending. He wanted to cut offensive spending. I dont believe we should be in Afghanistan till 2024 like Romney, Obama, McCain, and other feel. Do you think we should be in Afghanistan that long? Do you think we should be supporting Al Qaeda in Syria? Romney, Obama, and McCain do. Do you really see Iran as a threat on our national security? They are a third world country who have zero military threat to anyone outside of their region. Yes Israel is in their region but Israel has the strongest military in the region. They can easily handle Iran solo.
I dont want to go bankrupt over fear Iran one day might build a bomb. One day might have a missile that can deploy a nuke, and one day be able to get through the Iron dome missile defense shield we gave them. All before Israel blows it up on their own.
Iran chances of hitting Israel with a nuke like 1 in a billion.
US chances of going bankrupt trying to be the policemen of the world, 99.999999 percent.

Posted on August 5, 2012 at 6:59pmLEFT COAST. Lmao…. you go with those assumptions. Combat Veterans have a unique bond, a unique pride and a unique take on their Service time that even a Vet who may have had a 20 yr career can‘t relate to if he’s never seen, or participated in conflict or war (and there are plenty of those)… there are plenty of Ron Paul acolytes talking the talk, but trip over their own feet trying to pose as someone who did the walk.
I have all the love in the world for anyone who took the time to serve their country (combat or not, Retired or not), by draft or by choice, but will not tolerate fakes, frauds, record embellishers, posers, liars, the lame and the lazy. The Ron Paul Code-Pink ranks are filled with them (especially the internet) to bolster their anti-war argument with slight of hand and BS.
Ron Paul acolytes are known for their cheating and gaming the system to to make Ron Paul look good (polls come to mind, not to mention the donation ruse I debunked very easily early on). You whiney bass-turds complain about GOP fraud during the primaries? Lmao. You twits defeat yourselves at every turn and make your movement look weak by your actions (running over and stampeding Jews in a Special Las Vegas Caucus, lying, cheating,,, buffoonery as a prime example) So I’m only to assume most all of you are full of dookey from A-Z… especially the Military frauds for Paul here and elsewhere on the internet who have only seen a foxhole in their backyard.

The new and unimproved Tea Party is endorsing someone who supported the bailouts, when the bailouts was the reason the Tea Party became active in the first place. They’re the same people that call me an anti-Semetic, a leftist, a neolib, OWS anarchist, dope fiend, etc. I would love for enough people to write in Paul to shock the world, but I know that isn‘t going to happen and I’m not a huge fan of Gary Johnson. I’d be more inclined to vote for the Constitutionalist party. I mean, I wouldn’t believe anything the anti-Paul trolls have to say on here either.

Posted on August 5, 2012 at 8:52pmJust, I am not an Obama plant, and I think you know that, but I am going to write Paul’s name in if he does not get the nomination unless, Ron Paul wishes us to do something different. I will wait and see. I do know from blogging with many Paul supporters that they are going to do the same thing. I am not so sure about Obama plants calling for us to do that, I am skeptical on that one, but I do know that the RNC and Romney’s campaign have treated us so unfairly, that we will not even consider voting for Romney. I respect all the posts you display and you seem to have your act together. I respect the fact of your service and the adversities that you have to endure from your service and I wish you God speed in all you do. Thanks for supporting Dr. Paul all this time and keep your fingers crossed as I believe he still has a chance at the nomination. I never give up hope for miracles.

Posted on August 5, 2012 at 11:26amthey don’t go far enough calling Ried out.. I don’t want to see him get down in the mud with him… But Beck had a good idea, when he said what Romney needs to do say is …..I will be in front of the IRS building at this time_____ on this day____ and if I haven’t paid my taxes, then come and arrest me…. when they don’t come and arrest him then it turns the table back on Ried.. put up or shut the – - – - up.
