New RNC Ad Attacks Obama for Saying ‘Sometimes I Forget’ How Bad the Economy Was

RNC Jumps on Obamas Sometimes I Forget How Bad the Economy Was

The Republican National Committee and the Mitt Romney campaign have seized on President Barack Obama’s remarks Thursday that he sometimes forgets how bad the recession was.

“It was a house of cards, and it collapsed in the most destructive, worst crisis that we’ve seen since the Great Depression,” Obama said at a campaign event in Seattle. “And sometimes people forget the magnitude of it, you know? And you saw some of that I think in the video that was shown. Sometimes I forget.”

He continued: “In the last six months of 2008, while we were campaigning, nearly three million of our neighbors lost their jobs; 800,000 lost their jobs in the month that I took office. And it was tough. But the American people proved they were tougher. So we didn’t quit. We kept going. Together we fought back.”

By Friday morning, the RNC was out with a new web ad asking, “How can a sitting president forget the recession?”

In a statement, the Romney campaign hit Obama for other things he’s “forgotten.”

“It’s not surprising that a president who forgot to create jobs, forgot to cut the debt and forgot to change Washington has now admitted that he’s forgotten about the recession,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said. “In fact, it seems that the president has forgotten that he’s been in office for the last three and a half years.”

This is why America is so fed up with Washington DC, they are all detached, especially the President.

And when Obama was asked about this disdain for DC, he pushed the blame off on Congress, like he always does: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2012/may/obama_frustrated_dc.html

Well of course Barry forgets..look where he was last night..whooping it up at a fundraiser with George (C)looney and a gaggle of homosexual activists. Because the most pressing issue in the country right now is making homosexuals can marry each other. Raising $17 million for himself..while homes are foreclosed on, home values drop, people need jobs..etc..etc.

“It’s not surprising that a president who forgot to create jobs, forgot to cut the debt and forgot to change Washington has now admitted that he’s forgotten about the recession“ Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul” Or perhaps he was reinforcing that he forgot how terrible an economy Bush handed him. Pretty lame context and spin on a clear statement regarding how historically bad Bush had done on the economy, despite trying to pump it up with 2 wars and excessive federal debt. Let’s also remember that Bush handed Obama a $1.2 trillion debt run rate. By the time Bush left office his private sector job figures were essentially neutral. And let’s not forget he was handed a balanced budget and a surplus.

I’ll bet that he and George Clooney forgot that there is a recession at the fundraiser last night. Paying over $40,000 per plate, raising over $15million for his re-election….. urgh… for them there is no recession……they are lucky to be living such a blessed life pretending to be somebody else. I don’t understand how they can hate this country and love obama….

barry bought the economy with a 800 billion stimulus that was suppose to stop the unemployment from reaching 8%. under barry it has averaged over 9% and they have only dropped because they don’t count those that gave up looking. Bush avg. 5% also Bush spent 4 trillion in 8 years and barry has spent 5.5 trillion in 3 years. barry spent more money than Washinton to clinton combined, also obamacare will break the country and takes away numerous freedoms like privacy to your own bank account. the can take your bank account without warrent of notice. research it.

I am not a big GW fan either but I am tired of the lying left proggressive socialist like you. you support barry? you are a socialist. as for the mystical surplus left Bush? you need to research that to because it didn’t exist, here’s some help.

I really DIDN‘T forget last four years because I don’t want to have it happen again. He (Romney) better do a good job because we will remind him what happened to previous President that made us lose our freedom, put us in way more debt, no more oil drilling, bad selections, lies, etc and didn’t do the will of all the people.

You can’t have a debate or even a conversation with an Obama supporter without hearing the “B” word. Bush may be the best thing that ever happened to the democrats. If Bush was really a great president, I don‘t think we’d be stuck with the current crop. I know the media did a number on him but, a strong leader would have swung back a little. Bush just absorbed blow after blow until his approval numbers were in the low thirties.

How can a sitting president forget about the recession, you ask….

Simple, because it does not affect him or his family personally.
He doesn’t buy gasoline out of his pocket when he want to take a car ride. He doesn’t go to the grocery store and buy an extra pack of Ramen noodles instead of a 2lb pack of ground chuck…
