Road Rage: 65-Year-Old School Bus Driver Suffers Violent Beating in NYC After Minor Car Accident

CBS New York is reporting that a dedicated and popular bus driver is in a coma after he was nearly beaten to death in the Bronx following a minor car accident.

Having accidentally side-swiped another car, reports indicate, the owner of the car flew into a violent rage, punching the driver and throwing him to the ground, where he slammed his head. Doctors say the driver, Juan Delvalle, has suffered permanent brain damage, and his family will have to decide whether to take him off life support later this week.
If that isn’t shocking enough, DelValle was reportedly mere days away from retirement, only needing to finish up the current school year.
“I feel horrible. I mean what can you feel?” his daughter Marilla said. “Your father is lying in the hospital dying and you can’t help him to survive.”
The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Joey Scott, a career criminal who could face an upgraded charge of murder, police said.
“This is somebody that took my father’s life. He’s not gone yet, but attempting to take my father’s life,” Mariella DelValle said.
CBS has video of the beating from a nearby surveillance camera but warning, it’s difficult to watch:
The family hopes for a long prison sentence for the suspect, but Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson still has to decide whether to upgrade the charge.
Of the video, Delvalle’s daughter commented: “I recorded it, and I watch it all the time. I do because I can’t believe this is happening to my father.”

Adults screaming “burn in hell” to children who are singing “God Bless America”, low life mutants fighting and destroying a Denny’s, and now this. For all intent and purposes this man is dead. Killed by a low life because of a minor traffic accident. I keep hearing about “the WIld West”. Perhaps a little historic perspective might help. The wildest time in the West was when the criminal and low life element ran rampart until it got bad enough that the vigilante groups or law enforcement deputized a large group good citizens and they went out and cleaned things up. By the way, most of the time they just warned the people to get out of town or they tar and feathered them and helped them decide to relocate. There were not that many hangings and those were for the hardcore murderers.

Justice is working for the most part, but sometimes it does not. I will never allow my family or myself to be a victim for some low life without getting due Justice. Hopefully Justices through judges and/or jurors who should dispense it. When people get too sorry to do their jobs, then Americans have to do what they must do. If people honor their stewardships and do their jobs many people will not have to look beyond the courts for justice for the victims.

My first wife was from NYC and she refused to have my LEGAL guns in the house. She said all we had to do was call 911 and the police would take care of it. When the apartment two doors down was broken into at 2AM, the 20 yr old wife was raped by 4 guys and the husband bled to death from the stabbing he got trying to protect his wife after he had called 911 to tell them that someone was in their apartment. The police showed up almost an hour after the 911 call had been placed. MY EX STILL DIDN’T WANT ME TO KEEP MY GUNS IN THE HOUSE.

Discipline at the hands of the family and community is whats needed here. There is no reasonable doubt in this case of violence.

Many drivers have little regard for the laws designed to help keep us safe. Our freeways look like reenactments of a Mad Max movie. There seems to be very little accountability in a society where civility is hard to find.

This horrible incident is a loud and clear argument FOR the need to carry guns by all LEGAL and qualified citizens AFTER training and after weeks or months or years of practice. It is also a loud and clear argument FOR getting the trash heap (politicians) out of control up there. Are people in nyc brain dead? It’s obvious their souls are terminal.

Not long ago a 69 year old woman flew into a rage in the Pittsburgh area and beat another 60 something old lady over a minor road event. What is sad it usually occurs over something stupid or something that can be fixed. The really scarie part it’s only going to get worse.

Posted on June 20, 2012 at 6:34amOnce in a great while a case comes along that is so vile and reprehensible, it screams for the Death Penalty. This is just such a case, in my view. Under the self defense laws of many states today, such an outcome would have been legally justified by 3rd party citizens witnessing this near-fatal beating. It’s a shame this was New York City and not Kansas City, for example. The outcome may have saved the Taxpayers untold money in trials and confinement, IMO.
