The “Road to Repeal” rally took place in Washington D.C. Saturday, despite the rain, featuring speakers like Herman Cain, Michelle Bachmann, Ken Cucinelli, Steve Bannon, Jim Hoft, Tom Price and Louie Gohmert. A website for the event described the gathering:
“Government run health care is the best example of everything wrong with the federal government.
It is financially reckless. No one knows what it will ultimately cost – or where the money will come from.
Additionally, ObamaCare will grow the federal government into every aspect of our lives. It will grow government into a massive bloated bureaucracy making health care decisions that directly affect you. In fact, the federal government must hire more than 17,000 IRS agents to enforce the law.”
The Supreme Court is set to begin considering the constitutionality of the legislation come Monday.
When Herman Cain spoke, he said that if “Obamacare” had already been passed when he was diagnosed with stage four cancer, he wouldn’t be alive today.
“Imagine if a bureaucrat got a report on their desk trying to decide if I should be approved [for] my surgery, my chemotherapy … if they were to say, OK, he’s got a 30 percent chance of survival, I don’t think the government would want to pay for his surgery and his chemotherapy…That’s what Obamacare would do [to] you and me, and that’s why we’ve got to rip it up and repeal it.” He continued by saying that we must “stay inspired.”
Dean McDonald, a business owner from Atlanta, said ”I offer health care to my employees…If this takes effect, that’s done. It’ll get too expensive, with too many mandates. Free enterprise needs to take over, not the government.”
Roger Hardwicke, an engineer from Maryland, said that it is not about Republicans and Democrats. ”It’s [about] those that believe in limited government according to the Constitution and those who want to expand the government beyond what the constitution allows.”
Sonnie Johnson, seen in Fire from the Heartland and The Undefeated, gave a dynamite speech at the event:
As did Michele Bachmann:

Report Post »They are supposed to respect our wishes not a socialist agenda.
Even as I post they know we do not want it but they will not relent.
Their could only be one reason for this.
The bill gives them more power over our lives which will allow them to better control us.
The song that best fits this situation is “What’s Wrong With This Song” http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_9134749

Cain is right. America today has the best health care in the world because it is free enterprise, not socialist like those Commie countries like Canada or England or Germany. It isn’t hard to find horror stories from those countries. Nothing like that happens here.
But just doing away with Obamacare isn’t enough to solve our problems. Look at how much the government is involved in our lives and makes us dependent with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, etc., etc. All those socialistic programs need to be done away with for America to be truly free again. We need a True Conservative President, Congress and Supreme Court to restore America’s freedom.

Report Post »Hey Stevie thanks for taking the time and expense to go to DC. Regretfully I couldn’t go this time around. I did go to DC 2 years ago a day before Obama-care was passed when Michelle Bachmann frantically pleaded with folks to go in hope of stopping Obama-care; big let down when it passed.
I really feel the Highest court in the land will declare Obama-scam Unconstitutional.
Thanks again Patriot!

Posted on March 25, 2012 at 10:48pmChatted with you at the event. Time to reiterate that we want our freedoms back. This bill/law is another monstrosity with few supporters. Those who favor it would rather the government take away our rights, take away our freedoms for handouts that are going to bite everyone in the rear end come 2014. Transformation of H.C. is already happening – and it’s not in anyones favor. Remember Pelosi’s favorite line…only when the Bill is passed do we get to see what’s in it. I gladly road the bus for hours and stood in the rain to get my point across. Thanks to all who did their part that day.

Posted on March 24, 2012 at 11:49pmIn my opinion, this single ruling is the lynch pin to whether we can turn this ship around. I believe if the court says this is constitutional there is no doubt the entire government is coopted to the destruction of America as we know it. This piece of legislation is such an affront to everything the founders had put in place for it people. To think it had to go to this court is just stunning. If this is constitutional this government is clearly on the path to tyranny. I hope this court in its entirity has not been coopted, but I fear it may have been. Let’s see if any of who we are counting on runs to the other side. The commies are a little too confident going in on this. Similiar to the hearing on Obama’s eligibility hearing in Georgia. Something just doesn’t smell right here.

Posted on March 25, 2012 at 5:09pmI agree. The scary thing is that never in my wildest dreams did I think Obamacare would go anywhere because it was just so totally rejected by the majority. I naively thought that all Americans appreciated and understood the great fortune we have to be living in a free country. While raising my kids and working hard to start and grow our business, it never occurred to me that there was such a powerful minority working hard to transform our country into a dangerously oppressive place. We will, I pray, show them in November where most Americans stand. I realize the election will not cure everything, but it will be a loud and hard slap back to those who do not love and cherish our God given rights. And then the work really begins.

Will the radicals interrupt, violently, if there is a peaceful rally by “sensible” citizens that want to voice their opinions? Older people and children getting hurt is my concern. Scary times for this country. Haunting words that need to be repeated as a reminder…Van Jones, bottom-up,top-down & inside-out…I will keep that thought on the front-burner & hope many “sensible” citizens do the same. Posted on March 24, 2012 at 9:42pmPrediction: SCOTUS nixes this federal over-reach. The union/ Occupy / Marxist / anarchist/ Obama people ” re-occupy” the streets of Democrat cities . The Obama people then release their next round of “ divide America ” by pitting the youth ” ( we gave you all free health care and will forgive your student loans – even though that is another economically stupid idea like giving home loans to the poor who have no jobs – ” they are being discriminated against ) against the older ( who will not be able to get health care due to the slashing of doctor’s fees for what was once included AND the health care rationing due to the enormous cost – ho, ho no one ever anticipated these costs ! ) . The Obama Democrats just part of the economically irrational Marxists who believe that by “ redistributing” the money of others you can bring about “ social justice ” for all. Unless you are the ” re -distributee “ w ho would once have been called ” the wallet.” That was back when stealing was called stealing and social justice was called revenge ! Back when things actually worked, and a person had to WORK to achieve success. Not just steal.

Posted on March 24, 2012 at 10:04pmWe were in DC yesterday evening and until 4:00 pm today to see the Cherry Blossoms (they peaked Thursday), and there was very little traffic congestion today , probably because the rain kept people off the road. There was no official inkling that anything major was going on at all. We had no trouble finding a room in Arlington Friday night at the Marriott and we paid $102.00 AARP discounted rates instead of the $189.00 posted rates. We ate the complimentary breakfast in the hotel this morning (Saturday) and there were only 12 to 15 other people there.
As far as we could tell, there was no indication of this rally going down. We have been in DC for the Marine Corps Marathon weekend, and the March for Life rally. Both times, DC traffic was noticeably affected and we had to stay in Lorton and Manassas, respectively to get hotel rooms.
