Roland Martin Attacks Will Cain Over Climate Change PoliticsEver get frustrated that climate change alarmists try to paint conservatives who do not buy into man-made global warming as science-deniers and “flat-earthers?” That‘s precisely what happened with The Blaze’s Will Cain on CNN on Thursday, and when he called fellow CNN guest Roland Martin out on it, things got heated.

The pair was discussing a recent Obama interview in which the president indicated he would be pivoting to climate change during the election cycle. “Okay so liberals might be rejoicing, Roland Martin,” host Carol Costello said. “But some might say, why get into all of that when it’s the economy, it’s always about the economy?”

Martin opened by essentially saying Republicans want to deny science. But Cain wasn’t having any of it. Mediaite has the transcript:

“It’s a very interesting admission by President Obama in that article that he recognizes the number one issue among voters is the economy,” Cain noted. “He won’t forget or let you forget that he spent the first six months debating a cap and trade bill on carbon emissions and restructuring one-sixth of the American economy on health care. He’ll double down this election cycle and talk about the climate again. Where is this importance of the economy that he recognizes that voters see? I don’t understand his dedication to that, Carol, let me say this why is this hot button? Because of this right here. There’s no debate the climate is changing. It would be odd if it didn’t. The debate is whether man is contributing to that change and we can do anything significant to affect that change and whether what we can do to affect possible man-made climate change is worth the cost. We won’t have that elevated debate. We won’t have those. We’ll listen to critical thinkers like Deborah Wasserman Schultz or Chris Matthews saying Republicans don’t believe in science and we’ll be done.” [Emphasis added]

When Cain introduced a thought experiment that suggested dealing with the idea of what would happen if we put everyone on the planet out of work to work on reversing climate change, Marten responded with a personal jab.

“That is the nonsense when we this this debate,” he said. “When you say put everyone out of work, that is a nonsensical statement. So Will, don’t do the histrionics and try to earn an Academy Award right now for acting. Deal with reality!”

      How is it in one lifetime it has gone from ice age is coming to global warming is coming?

      How about that mini-ice age and the peoples of Iceland? Move or die trying to adapt? Didn’t work well for the ones who did not move. With energy costs, thanks to Pres.Obama’s policies, “necessarily increase in cost”, won’t be able to afford heating my home in Mt. & have to move to Arz.or Texas. Naw, won’t do that…maybe I have Viking blood in me & I refuse to leave my beloved home, Mt.. I’ll stay here because when hlth-care kicks in and the death-panels tell me I will be denied hlth-care….just wander out into a Mt. snow-storm…LoL…won’t have to put up with hospital-food!!!

      And have we now figured out how to stop those pesky volcanos that throw all that non man made crap in the air, that one puff equals a thousand years of man (talk about green house gases, acid rain, poison gases). Or those POOR developing countries that are poluting the air and water at a speed a thousand times a day more then what we do in several years.

      @LG the planet has a dynamic atmosphere, i.e. CFC’s were said to destroy Ozone Layer of the upper atmosphere but when science was applied they found that it was not as bad as claimed since the planet was just healed the Ozone layer faster than predicted. What we have to remember is that most of the science here is predicated on “MODELING”or basically guesswork in the future that does not exist. Science no longer deals in reality since the age of computer technology science is now based on “Computer Modeling” with facts manipulated by computer and if the person creating the “Model”gets a piece of data incorrect then that affects the whole “Model”. We need to be extremely vigilant to the data when it is based on “MODELING” by computer.

      Why is Greenland named that way? Because it was GREEN when the Vikings discovered it, now it is ICE. I wonder how many coal burning factories and SUV’s were on the earth when GREENLAND was discovered? LOL, these idiots will do and say anything to steal more money from you via carbon credits. Al Gore is a hack and so are his scientists, and all the idiots that believe man can change the environment that much!

      the Earth is a changing planet, the BIGGEST influence on it is the SUN, you know that disc in the sky that you see every day! At one point the Earth was covered by a mile of ice, then at another point it was 15000 degrees, we happen to be living in a MILD period!!!!!       It always gets down to spending taxpayer’s money. I would ask the guy, how much money does this admin.need & how long will it take to turn this global-warming around & make the weather “just-right”? If he pauses & tries liberal-cheap-talk…stop him & ask the question again. He will say it will take awhile with rules & regulation by the government. I would refer to a weatherman & a “season” of having snow. Reasons for the seasons, & weatherman says, “possible” snow…….just guessing…don’t really know how long it will last or how many inches we are going to get. So, I would ask the guy again, YOU ARE CONVINCED global-warming is man-caused, therefore, THE GOVERNMENT knows how much taxpayer money & how long it will take to CONQUER/CONTROL the “war-on-global-warming”. This is a form of verbal gymnastics but this is what liberals do..so have some fun, nudge them down the “rabbit-hole”. They’ll excuse themselves & go elsewhere & try & dangle a carrot in front of the “simple-little-people”. Of course, the carrot paid by “the little people” LOL

    Cain said what we’ve all been thinking: Conservatives, Republicans, and Christians all accept science to a degree. It’s interesting though how many on the other side of the argument leave out facts that they used years ago to make their points because those facts are no longer valid. The hole in the ozone layer that we were all so worried about in the 80′s has repaired itself. Polar bear numbers are actually flourishing. The glaciers at the top of the world have melted but have grown in other parts of the world. The sea levels aren’t rising at an astronomical level. And there is no daily acid rain storm. But sadly because they have to keep changing their tactics and facts and stories, it always comes down to name calling. We “flat earthers” as Chris Matthews dubbed us are not unintelligent people who have our noses buried so far in our Bibles (or Book of Mormons in Romney’s case) that we don’t see what is going on around us. We are probably more intelligent because we question everything, even our own faith sometimes. We don’t just blindly listen to scientists who are constantly getting caught lying or changing data. If you want to talk about renewable energies and energy saving then let’s do that, but don‘t force it down people’s throats with legislation because it is what you want. That is a dictatorship. It is a dictatorship whether it is enacted by one man or an entire congress of representatives and congressmen who do not listen to their constituents…

This year bids fair to top it. The ten or fifteen warmest years on record have been concentrated in the 2000s. An increase of .29 degrees celsius equals about .5 degrees Fahrenheit–over 20 years. Extrapolate. Do some math.

      Thank you for acknowledging that the debate is about the cause, not about the ALLEGED (-:)) fact.
      Since you showed an inclination to a scientific parlance, which in my mind signifies that you respect science, I am happy to mention that many scientific works that I’ve read recently, confirm my assumption that the “anthropogenically” produced CO2 and other warming components are negligible in comparison with natural sources, and the entire alarmist hysteria is a compound of ignorance and greed. As a scientifically inclined person, you hopefully can easily analyse what ignorance and what greed I mean.
      I don’t remember in which one forum have I posted an information that the Earth had at least 5 glacier periods and each of them was ended by a period of Global warming, after which another glacier period started. And since it all happened hundreds millions and hundreds thousands years ago, when no humans existed, it’s clear that anthropogenic activities have nothing to do with global warming.
      That’s why creatures like al-Gore, Peter Gleick, and the likes make me puke.

    Man made climate change is a socialist ruse for their control over energy and ultimately their control over the economy. By controlling energy, they control everything and everyone. High energy costs are their avenue to this control. Their intent is evident.
    Back in September 2008 Obama’s energy secretary, Steven Chu, spoke to the Wall Street Journal. “Somehow,” Chu said, “we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”
    Back in January 2008 Obama himself told the San Francisco Chronicle,
    “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”
    The control of energy is just another tool in the arsenal of the socialist. And believe me when I say that it is the ultimate tool in the control of the economy. It’s the economy, and we’re not stupid. If I wanted America to fail, I’d continue doing what Obama is now doing.     When I woke up this morning it was a cool 68 degrees…now it is 72. Later on today the temperature is expected to reach 82 degrees. This is obviously caused by the star that our planet revolves around. A 14 degree change in a matter of hours. Is it possible that simple temperature fluctuations on that star (which we know basically nothing about) may have something to do with climate change here on our planet?

    The Hot-Earthers say NO. The sun is not a factor. I say any scientist that decrees that the sun is not a factor on this alleged climate change is a joke and a huckster.

      Without the SUN the entire galaxy would be a deep freeze cryo chamber with the earth having an ice crust a few hundred klms thick. -250 C…..The SUN has many cycles of heating up and cooling in conjunction with sun spots and other storms raging across it’s entire surface.     It was nothing fascinating in this conversation, no matter what the host said.
    Crazy “warming”-mongers don’t want to listen to any arguments, reject any facts, event the fact that there were 5 glacier periods on the earth, and each of hem was eventually ended by a global warming, and every global warming period was then ended by a next glacier period, and everything that happened millions years ago, then hundred thousands years ago, and the last one – some ten thousand years ago.
    Which clearly means and proves that the human activity has nothing to do with global warming, simply because there were global warming periods when humans did not exist at all.

    So, actually, it‘s rabid warming Liberasts who don’t believe in science and think that the Earth is flat, not Conservatives who are normal people without mental disorder.

    P.S. Very recently, the most radical of Global Warming alarmists James Lovelock has recanted:
    “The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books – mine included – because it looked clear-cut, but it hasn’t happened.”

      According to the manipulated data that was published back at the turn of the milleium wew were to see temp rise of roughly 2-5C by 2030 and 5-10c by 3000…..the truth has been the opposite…we’ve actually begun to cool down instead of heat up. The 90′s was warmer than the 2000-2011 period has been and yet these eco fascist’s were sounding all kinds of alram bells warning of impending catastrophe if we did not reverse course immdiately. The EU brought in cap and trade on the basis that that report was solid data ….they were duped and it cost the EU billions if trillions for nothing to show. Climategate blew the lid off the scam, so much so thatUN dismantled it’s Global warming committee, laucnhed an ivestigatio into the mess, the scientists in the UK caufght lying about the data and how they made it for thier model forever discredited and yet 4 years after that debacle the leftists simply shrugged thier shulders and then changed the name of it to Global Climate Change. They do what they always do…change the rules, the definition and the words to arrive basically back at the same solution that the rest of the world must adopt or we all pay the price. Professional chicken littles the lot of them.

    Roland Martin does not understand science. It is unscientific to say that man made sources cause climate change because the climate has changed while man-made sources have increased.       This is a belief system for these folks. Science got nothing to do with it. We have been cooling for 10 years and co2 has continued to rise. Oceans will swell and blah blah blah. Oh, no they have actually gone down slightly. And by the way co2 makes up less than 5% of atmospheric gasses, water vapor is 95% and methane is less than a percent.

      My favorite question to ask people who believe man is the cause of climate change is, could you be convinced otherwise?

    Which is more dangerous for our health and well being: So called global climate changes or the likes of Islamic terrorist with nuclear capabiliies like Iran or Venezuela? What is more dangerous global climate changes or drugs? What is more dangerous global climate changes or people starving? What is more dangerous global climate changes or law breakers? What is more dangerous global climate changes or unemployment and the debt that gets larger every second?

The mortal sin of pride and an almost fanatical devotion to voodoo eco activism has ursurped a large sector of the once proud naturalist scientific profession.       If the United States were to destroy it’s economy, but cut CO2 levels in half would that stop increases in the atmospheric CO2 levels? Maybe. Temporarily. But China and Russia, and the developing third world will continue to pump green house gases into the air at an ever increasing rate. So, say the man maders are right. We’re all going to die. This is redistribution of wealth on a global scale. They want our economy to fail so the poor unfortunates around the world can reach the promised land.     I am always amused by these people (most of the AGW believers) who probably never took a science class after high school biology, have never read any critical articles regarding the issue, and still opine as if they have some solid basis, other than thaat Al Gore, another scientificignoramus, said so.

      For a large segment of these folks (if not all of them) this eco-activism has indeed replaced traditional spriritual practice with what I called Pagean mysticism. It’s hard to separate the objective data from the Pagean BS. Many so called scientists have abandoned objective cold hard fact based research for a quasi eco avtivist / semi spiritual alien process at odds with both science as it practised in the other disciplines but sprinkled with what once was taboo in the filed…Spiritualism (atheism of another kind like mother Earth worship etc). IMO the only folks elidgable to do such things are Indiginous peoples who know nothing of Western Science nor do they let it cloud thier thinking.

      You are right on Spanks ! Inventing an entire system of pseudofinancial equalization of the ‘damage’ done by carbon emitters allows governments to exert a type of shadow control over vast portions of the economy. They don‘t really care about the ’weather’ or they would put more effort into being able to effectively predict what it would do. Many refuse to admit they just CANT PREDICT IT! As it stands, all of the complex variables inherent in meteorology only give us a rough picture of what the weather is doing. Multiply weather on a grand scale and you get ‘climate’. So until people can predict weather accurately, I surely remain a skeptic in terms of the overall climate.

    Talk about not understanding Reality: There is not enough Money on Earth… nor Technology… to fix or alter the Climate. In Reality: it is Insane… to hate, to desire to prohibit Energy, or to want people to live in primative ways… in order to follow an ideology. In Reality: if Humans create a Climate Problem and contribute to it… then the best solution is Extermination of the Species!
