Roman Catholics in Poland Claim Spot on Communion Wafer is Part of Jesus’ Heart

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Roman Catholics in Poland gathered Sunday for a special Mass celebrating what they see as a miracle: the appearance on a communion wafer of a dark spot that they are convinced is part of the heart of Jesus.
The communion wafer in question developed a brown spot in 2008 after falling on the floor during a Mass in the eastern Polish town of Sokolka. Two medical doctors determined that the spot was heart muscle tissue, church officials have said.
Bialystok Archbishop Edward Ozorowski said during the Mass that in history, the “substance of Christ’s body or blood has become available to the human senses, and this also happened in Sokolka.”
“For God, nothing is impossible,” Ozorowski said.
The dark-spotted wafer was carried aloft in a reliquary by a golden-robed priest in a procession and was put on display in the town’s church of St. Anthony as about 1,000 faithful looked on, according to a report and footage carried by the TV station TVN.
Catholics believe that the bread and wine that priests use during the sacrament of communion – or the Eucharist – are changed into the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

The wafer was dropped by a priest celebrating communion in 2008. In accordance with church practice, the priest placed the wafer in water to dissolve it. Several days later a nun found that the wafer had not dissolved completely, and found a red mark on it.
The nun’s discovery sparked huge interest among the faithful in this deeply Roman Catholic country, sparking large numbers to flock to Sokolka. Though some believers consider the object miraculous, the Vatican is still examining the matter and has not yet officially decided whether to declare it a miracle, church spokesman Andrzej Debski said.
A group of rationalists complained about the matter in 2008, and called on authorities to investigate if a murder or other crime was involved if human flesh was indeed found on the wafer. Police say they have no evidence of any crime.

The start of the Atonement which was in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Christ prayed to take the cup from Him, but still did His Father’s will, yes was in secret, although some were invited to pray with Him.
His crucifixion was revealed prophecy come to pass that many would take part in and witness. The Resurrection was not wholly witnessed because Christ did many things between dying on the cross and showing His fully glorified resurrected body to “certain” people that were prepared to understand

Curing the blind man was also used with some symbolism, for the man had to have faith and actually go wash the mud from his eyes. And though many heard of Christ’s miracles they were for the glory of God and not on public display in such a manner as to confuse and divide.
.
We are to test the spirits, as to not be deceived, we should not use our eyes and the final “word” of the World Health Organization?! or scientists, doctors to discern a miracle it should be by the powerful influence of the Holy Ghost or the perfect discernment by the gift of the Holy Ghost.

This miracle, if it is a miracle, may be only for Roman Catholics that don’t believe in the true presence. I wonder why it took place in Poland because it is a very Catholic country. It was the orgin of a powerful devotion and maybe a dry martyr. Is Jesus truly present in the Eucharist. I can’t prove it, but I believe. Can a person see contaminated water with radiation? Can a person see the radiation?

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 5:50pmDLG The word private or intimate would be a better choice, although much of Christ’s works were in secret to keep from knowledge or view because of the sacredness.
As such I cannot see comparing Christ’s humble yet powerful miracles when he walked the earth to a media show as being the same. We are warned of the many anti-Christs and false prophets that could “deceive the very elect”. Proving a miracle to the world is not of God, proving it to yourself if it is from God is necessary and commanded.
Walking on water was only in front of those certain Apostles. The crowds to which Christ wrought miracles was because of their faith, humility and “child like” heart, and they were intimate and in private compared to international media. The millions of sacred private miracles that edify men and women every day are true miracles not made into a spectacle.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 3:17pmIt is not possible to give an exact year when the Catholic Church began to be called the “Roman Catholic Church,” but it is possible to approximate it. The term originates as an insult created by Anglicans who wished to refer to themselves as Catholic. They thus coined the term “Roman Catholic” to distinguish those in union with Rome from themselves and to create a sense in which they could refer to themselves as Catholics (by attempting to deprive actual Catholics to the right to the term).
Report Post »Even today many Protestants who have no idea what the origin of the term is cannot bring themselves to say “Catholic” without qualifying it or replacing it with an insult.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 3:52pmJesus Christ, the Son of the Living God Our Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ, Jehovah of the Old Testament, who by instruction of the Father created this world, paid for our sins with his blood and died so we could live again, and this is something He would do?
Common Sense and a discerning heart cry out no. Seriously, I love the dedication that Catholics have, but displaying bodies, pictures of supposed ghosts/angels, blood tears and blood infused wafers is just a wild show. Miracles are for those who believe but miracles are pure and sacred and not on show for the world. Most miracles Christ performed were in sacred secret, “tell no man”, because they were for the humble heart, and not for public “display”.
Being in awe of such things is just nonsense. The sacred, true miracles done by faith in Christ are not to be rewarded, publicly announced or made into a parade or worldly worship. True miracles are for edifying and for the humble seeking heart. Miracles are all around us, the fact that we live on a huge sphere floating in outer space, the creation and birth of a baby, technology and intelligence poured down from heaven to man. Why would Christ want us to display His “miracles” irreverently, before the world. Miracles are mostly silent, pure examples of faith, that go unnoticed by the world because the world cannot understand. Christ rode in on a donkey because He was humble. His mighty miracles one day will be for the heathen and believer alike, and all knees

UGH! This sort of crazy-town nonsense is EXACTLY why believers get a bad reputation! All of Jesus’ body parts are with HIM now – not in a bunch of crackers. COME ON, people!
Every miracle that Jesus performed was for a REASON. John 10:37-38; John 5:36-38; John 14:7; John 15:24 that people would believe His claim to be Messiah.
How does blood-spatter on a ******* do that? It doesn’t. This is nonsense for the gullible. I do not say that with any sense of joy, or antipathy for the Catholic Church. I just really wish that people who claimed to believe, and ESPECIALLY religious leadership would walk away from this voodoo, and take a look at the promises of REAL miracles that Jesus said would “follow believers” (note – believers are not to follow signs, but signs are to follow believers). Posted on October 5, 2011 at 3:45pmSome Protestants will tell you that the only acceptable version of the Bible is the King James. This position is known as King James-onlyism. Its advocates often make jokes such as, “If the King James Version was good enough for the apostle Paul, it is good enough for me,” or, “My King James Version corrects your Greek text.”
Report Post »They commonly claim that the King James is based on the only perfect set of manuscripts we have (a false claim; there is no perfect set of manuscripts; and the ones used for the KJV were compiled by a Catholic, Erasmus), that it is the only translation that avoids modern, liberal renderings, and that its translators were extremely saintly and scholarly men. Since the King James is also known as “the Authorized Version” (AV), its advocates sometimes argue that it is the only version to ever have been “authorized.” To this one may point out that it was only authorized in the Anglican church, which now uses other translations.
The complete KJV was published in 1611. Over the last three centuries, numerous minor changes (for example, of spelling and grammar) have been made in the King James, with the result that most versions of the KJV currently on the market are significantly different from the original. This has led one publisher to recently re-issue the 1611 King James Version Bible.

THis is my 2nd attempt…. Blaze glitches… in any case, my sincere apologies if you felt I was mocking Holy Communion. Jesus explicitly asked us to remember (eating a piece of bread, sipping wine) how much it cost Him personally for us to experience forgiveness.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 11 to recieve it with reverence and respect and an inner “spot check” regarding our relationship with Jesus Christ, and also with the “the body” – which he explains in chapter 12 is every believer.
I do believe in miracles. Recently a friend of mine was healed from a serious medical condition. She has doctors reports which verify that this was not accomplished by any medication. She is a God-fearing woman of prayer.

But no I do not adhere to “scripture only” I believe that God cannot be shut up by any means and He speaks when He wants to. I believe in revelation by means of the Holy Ghost. I believe that all the “Bibles” are true as far as they are translated correctly, man does make mistakes. I believe that understanding the scriptures and translation of them cannot be done by private interpretation, but by the power and direction of the Holy Ghost, it’s the only way we can discern scripture, besides common sense.
“This is My Body” **
Christ spoke to the humble heart, the heart that was open to understanding. We are to humbly take the sacrament which means to spiritually “feast” upon Christ’s works, message, Atonement, understanding, etc. He was speaking how the Jews and people of that time understood, their language.
Even the book of Revelation speaks of eating a book, we “feast” upon by taking upon us everything that is Christ, wholly accepting and trying to be like Him, it is a metaphor. Even the Apostles and Disciples were like “children” and needed simplifying of something greater.
Much symbolism in scripture is why we should not try to interpret ourselves but wait for the Holy Ghost to truly reveal to us, and trust in His ways to bring forth the truth.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 9:55amJesus fed the crowd with 5 loaves and 2 fish. The feeding of the five thousand was a genuine, supernatural miracle that could not have been accomplished by any natural means whatsoever. It was not a “miracle of sharing” or anything similar to that. It was a supernatural event. The Gospels tell us that there were five loaves of bread and two fish, but after Jesus blessed the food, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples who in turn gave them to the crowds, more than enough bread had been supernaturally generated (cf. Mt 14:15–21; 15:32–39).
This miraculous feeding is a foreshadowing of the miraculous feeding of the Eucharist. We read in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that “the miracles of the multiplication of the loaves, when the Lord says the blessing, breaks and distributes the loaves through his disciples to feed the multitude, prefigure the superabundance of this unique bread of his Eucharist” (CCC 1335). We also see a connection between the miraculous feeding of the five thousand and the Eucharist in John 6, where we read that Jesus gave his first public teaching on the Lord’s Supper immediately after the feeding of the five thousand. This supernatural event prefigured the holy sacrifice of the Eucharist, in which “all who eat the one broken bread, Christ, enter into communion with him and form but one body in him” (CCC 1329).

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 4:44amI agree with Violinda333. You can also look up the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, Italy. I personally went there to see it for myself in 1992. Many scientific tests were performed on the Body and Blood, also confirming there that it was indeed heart tissue (muscle, artery, and nerve fibers) and AB human blood. Please research more… Do not be afraid of the Truth.
Reading further in John 6 after hearing Jesus’ “Bread of Life Discourse” many found this teaching difficult to accept and some no longer followed Him.
Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?” Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:67-69)
Ask yourself this… Why, if Jesus was only speaking symbolically about eating His flesh and drinking His blood, would so many find His words difficult to hear? Why would Jesus need to ask the Twelve if they also wanted to leave?… Could the Catholic Church’s teaching of the Real Presence be true?

Posted on October 7, 2011 at 12:30amI am not a Catholic or a Protestant or a Jew. However, I am a follower of Christ and I believe in miracles. No doubt Jesus did many while He was on the earth, and still does today. His miracles, however, are never in doubt as to what they are, as is the case with this host or wafer. Jesus’ raised the dead, healed the sick, calmed the sea, fed the masses with little, and so on. There was never any doubt as to what He was doing or intended.
The Sacrament or Eucharist is for believers to demonstrate to God that we are worthy and we remember what Christ has done for us on cross. I am very grateful for that opportunity to partake every Sunday.
However, transubstantiation is a perversion of the sacrament the Christ instituted at the Last Supper. The bread and wine are symbolic of Christ’s body and blood, not literal. Literal transubstantiation is a pagan ritualistic belief that was gradually incorporated into the Catholic church during the Middle Ages, and perpetuated into modern times. A simple experiment to prove you right or wrong is to simply take some of the host and wine after they have been consecrated and test them for human organic material.
I find it very telling how by me merely quoting a verse from the Holy Bible gets such a negative reaction. Don’t be so quick to criticize another that you look past the truth. Sorry Catholics, you’re wrong on this one. And by the way, do you really need this to keep your faith strong?

17:10, “And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth ANY manner of blood ; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people”…
17:12, “Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, NO soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall ANY stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood”.
17:14, “For it is the life of the flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of NO MANNER of flesh: for the life of ALL flesh is the blood thereof: “whosoever” eateht it shall be cut off”.

Jesus in the Old Testament condemns the consumption of ANY manner of blood, and the eating of human flesh is an abomination unto the LORD God.

I do not care how it is categorized as, it is a bunch of baloney. A hoax. A load of poop. A big fat lie. A scam. A deception. A false truth. A manipulation.

Do you always speak with curse words when posting on a religious topic? Sure hope not…
Are you an expert to declare it is Jesus’s heart tissue? Does the Vatican have Jesus’s heart tissue to compare it to? So know one can say who’s “heart tissue” it is, IF it really is “heart tissue” right?
Were DNA samples taken to compare to a database? I bet not. Why? Because we all would see it is a load of garbage. Boloney. Manipulation. A lie……Just one of many…….All this did was attract tourism to this Church as stated in the article above…..Hoax……..

Some of us get tired of the Catholic bashing which seems to be a Protestant sport. Most of us choose to ignore the insults. Very rarely do you see a Catholic call a Protestant a heretic, quiz them about snakes as props in their services or why bible publised in 1611 is “the bible.” But we get mighty weary of being called pagans and cult members. Just keep in mind if there had been no Catholic Church in Europe we would all be Muslims.

Anytime you want to debate God’s Word, bring it. Until then, go kick rocks, go look at Mary in grilled cheese, or go eat some heart tissue. You are a fake!
@Dismayed Vet
No one is bashing but I do speak truth, especially about some phony baloney “heart tissue” that is a hoax…. You do not like it? Well, that is your problem is it not? Leave the phony Church and seek truth and God.
The wafer and wine is not turned into Christ’s blood and body by the Pope or Priest. That is 100% lie and can be proven so by God’s Word, if you want truth. Or you can continue to live a lie, your choice.

Report Post »Billy, if your going to single out Catholics may I suggest covering today’s story of the head of Catholic Military Chaplains, Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who is standing up to the Department of Defense by not allowing the West Point Chapel to be used for same sex marriages and even stated the DoD is violating the Defense of Marriage Act. Might be the start of something big, kind of an important story but making fun of Catholics is pretty fun too I guess.

Posted on October 4, 2011 at 10:14pmSo, let me get this straight, if I take communion and my wafer falls on the floor, I’m going to not eat it and save it thinking that it HAS to be a sign!
I will put it with my other little religious collection, along with my half-eaten cheese, apple, bread, peanut butter, etc. Wonderful how they assume that it is automatically Jesus‘s heart and not someone else’s.
I‘m sure Jesus was thinking that even though he’s in a heavenly body, he’ll just give them a pinch of his heart muscle in the year 2011. This group of people will be looking at that smudge while I will be looking in the clouds for the whole person.
Geesh.
