Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney appeared on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno Tuesday night. During an interesting name game that to some, given the trips and tribulations of the primary, may have been more likely to produce a politically hazardous gaffe than a laugh, Romney gave a hint that Rick Santorum may have a place in the West Wing next year if Romney wins.
“Press Secretary,” Romney swiftly replied when Leno brought up Santorum during a segment when the Republican front-runner was suppose to say the first words that came to his mind as the late-night host ran down a list of potential running mates:
Still, the press secretary reply may have not been a hint at a future job but rather a subtle jab at Santorum following his recent clash with a New York Times reporter, when the former Pennsylvania cursed and accused the reporter of misinterpreting some of his remarks.
Romney eventually cracked that he would likely select Leno rival David Letterman as his vice president.

Report Post »Other jobs Romney could have chosen for Santorum:
Whiner in Chief
Religious adviser
Ambassador to Mexico
Ambassador to the Vatican(that one actually makes sense)
Special Envoy to Iran
2nd Lieutenant to Assistant Anything
Lie-son to the Black Caucus
White House Swimwear Model
Given those options Press Secretary sounds pretty good!

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 4:10pmI love how the blaze left out Mitt’s gracious words towards Rick inspite of his his latest rantings. Mitt even referred to him as a good guy saying he would love him to be in the administration. What a class act Mitt is!

Mitt Romney on Leno last night! EXCELLENT! He reminds me more and more of Reagan everyday! He was very gracious to Santorum unlike everything that comes out of the whiner-in-chiefs mouth. And I’m not speaking of Obama.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 3:48pmActually Romney probably felt that Santorum would make a good Press Secretary. After all, Santorum has been the Republican Conference Chairman, whose duty is being the spokesman to the press for the Republican Party (AKA: The ESTABLISHMENT).

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 1:46pmNo way, I would alternate between Palin and Gingrich as press secretary. The press hates both of them and it sure would be fun with the “you betchaa” line from Palin.
Then Newt would have them spinning with all of his knowledge of how the system works.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 11:20amI’ll give him that, he does look Presidential. It’s unfortunate that looks seem to count so much in a Presidential election, but that’s the reality of it.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 12:06pmGonzo: Such is life in Presidential elections. If you go back to the Kennedy/Nixon debates of 1960, people who listened to the debates on the radio would say that Nixon won overwhelmingly. However, those who WATCHED the debate on TV thought that Kennedy won. Nixon refused make-up and had a 5 o’clock shadow that made him look quite sinister. Kennedy BARELY won the election and we found out how sinister Nixon was when Watergate went down.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 3:41pm@WINEDUDE Nixon was not sinister..He was a noble man..You should watch the movie done on Nixon’s biography..He was a man who would stand in the place of others.and he was offered bribes in money women and drugs by the mafia..all of which he refused..His staff decided that they wanted to know the strategy of the left for the presidential run..so they video taped them..it was unfortunate because all the left guy had going was he was out with a hot dog vendor having hotdogs with the public while Nixon was dining with governor Connelly as I recollect..You think that was sinister? Wow..and look what we have now..
