Romney Gives Presidential Clue: If You See Me on Fox, I’m Running

How will we know if Mitt Romney is running for president? According to him, “If you ever see me sign up for a gig on Fox News, it’ll be a clear indication that I’ve decided to run for president.“ He made the statement on ”The Tonight Show” Wednesday:

Mediaite points out that the statement was meant to make fun of Fox:

It was a gentle yet pointed dig at the cable news channel who includes on their roster a long list of news analysts and commentators who are considered to be GOP presidential hopefuls in 2012, including Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, John Bolton, and Rick Santorum. 2008 Presidential hopeful, and potential candidate for 2012 Mike Huckabee even hosts his own weekend program on Fox News, which has raised some questions about the symbiotic relationship between Fox News and the GOP presidential candidates.

Every ‘12er has baggage of some kind. We do need another Ronaldus Maximus, but if one doesn’t appear then we have to make the hard decision. We have to beat Obama no matter what. Some call Mitt a RINO, Christie is good on money but squishy on social issues, Sarah is Sarah, Huck is great with an audience, Newt is scarred…….so, we wait and see who rises and who runs.

Yes, I too believe Fox News Channel is “in bed” with conservatives who might be running for president. SO WHAT! All other networks and most news outlets like the N.Y.Times, Washington Post, etc., etc. are similarly aligned with every FAR LEFT kook politician out there………Who complains about that or all the fawning done over them by “thrill up my leg” hosts like Chris Mathews and others?

And now, a word about Son of (George) Romney, The Mitt. He’s a handsome likable guy, that’s it. Yes, he has a competent record in business, looks Presidential, etc., but the guy is a PURE COUNTRY CLUB Republican. You know the type: McCain style moderates. These guys are ALL big on BI-PARTISANSHIP and working ACROSS the aisle. He can’t win the Presidency even if he spends millions more of his own money. In fact, he won’t even get past the primaries. Mitt is the most likely nominee for the GOP in 2012 and is far more qualified than the vast majority of potential candidates on either side of the aisle. As said above, if you want our countries issues corrected, then Romney is – as of right now – the smart choice… even for the offended.

Mitt should be the republican nominee for President in 2012….No other republican that has already shown an interest n running can gain enough independant support to win. Sara Palin is too polarizing, Newt has a checkered past, and Huckabee could win the south but has no shot in northern states. Especially if the economy is still sluggish, Mitt has the economic background to get us back on the right track, and is independant enough to let a republican house and senate set a strong path and thus win a 2nd term.

Every time he has been questioned about it he tries to say that the program is working. NOT TRUE — just look at their state’s budget and how many things are now being cut out of that healthcare.

Anyone who would seriously consider Romney doesn’t understand that he would buckle under pressure. That alone disqualifies him. We need someone with BACKBONE.

No, but I am willing to think outside the box. Here is my thought process: Mitt runs, and wins because he can pull a ton of independants. Republicans will also have the house and senate on lock after 2012, which means to me that we can have a republican who’s really more independant in the white house with a conservative house and senate that sets the agenda and the direction for this country. This also allows us to use the “Overton Window” philosophy to take our freedoms back slowly, with independents on board (because they’ll support Romney) and gain more young conservatives who will maintain a conservative view throughout their life. According to everyone we wont be able to make wholesale changes to everything we want to change just because we win in 2012, this will be a lifetime goal, which is why we need to maintain power and think for the long term-not just for 2012. This is a “war on socailism”, and like the war on drugs, it wont be won quickly. There will always be those people who want something for nothing, so we must think long term in accordance with the steps that must be taken.

He told me that Romney dropped out then because he was planning to run again for the 2012 race. He’s been planning this for two years! Why not just have some integrity and admit it, Mitt?

This masquerading around leaving people wondering is a symbol of why Mitt had a big question market over his head two years ago. No one really knows what he really stands for! As a Mormon, I resent that he acts that way. I like Sarah Palin because she is REAL. Romney ISN’T!

Just get this socialist cockroach out of the White House and let America once again be great. I am beginning to understand why Washington DC would so pee in their pants scared of Sarah Pain. She is something that seems to have been lost in DC politics, she is HONEST. Sarah Palin would go into the White House with a big stick and start cleaning house like it has probably never been done before. Chris Chrisit is another one, I mean Chris would just take the corruptos out in the parking lot and start kicking ass. What a sight that would be, but I don’t know if there is a parking lot in Washington big enough to hold all the dishonest politicians. Mitt Romney, sure what not but no matter what we just have to have someone special for Sarah Palin that would allow her to use a big broom to sweep out all the socialist trash in DC.

Mr. Romney is just another Rino. If he were elected president, it would mean more years of George Bush’s and creeping tyranny. The last thing we need is another Rino. Ayn Rand was once asked if she were a conservative, her answer was, “No, there’s nothing left to conserve, I am a Radical for Capitalism.“ What we need in the White House is a ”radical for Capitalism.” not another Rino. Fortunately, we have over a year to decide on a candidate for President.

By the grace of God, our Republic has survived many crises. Perhaps, that “Greater Power” will save us again and provide a “21st Century George Washington” to save the Republic.

At the same time, yes we do have the freedoms to disagree on those beliefs too – that is the great treasures of America’s people we are slowly losing.

Why dont you bypass him and ask God how He feels about the unChrist-like attitude and bigotry you’re spouting on here today. Its okay to disagree with Romney. Just try to be decent about it.

My Pastor has NEVER mentioned other faiths. I read the Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price, Doctrines and Covenants, and I invited the local Mormons into my home to persuade me. They couldn’t answer simple questions about their faith. I prayed with them, to their god, and all I saw was lies and deceit. They twist the Holy Scriptures to mean what they want to believe instead of taking it at face value. There is not one piece of evidence to back Joseph Smith’s claims. It is a figment of his imagination and millions believe his fantasy. All I am saying is that if I can see through the lies with some careful research, I would expect the same of my president.

HEY REPUBLICANS, how were you guys “fighting tyranny” when you supported warrantless wiretaps and detention without charges?

Oh yeah, I forgot, you are the ULTIMATE hypocrites.

      @Konservative PUNK

I don’t know what “lies and deceit” you are talking about in my religion. Nor do I think it’s pleasant you speaking in such harsh words against my faith, or anyone’s faith for that matter. You obviously haven’t read the Book of Mormon nor the Pearl of Great Price enough as I have. Cause all it teaches in those books is about Christ’s love and how faith can overcome adversity.

But alas, all you do is spew hatred and personal doctrine for one’s religion. I don’t think that is what Christ preached in his teachings as he taught to love thine neighbor as thine self, and if you read the Book of Mormon, or the Bible you might of known that.

Again though, I wish everyone who believes in God could come to love each other and understand it is we who are under attack by a great evil in the world. We should be standing together, not hating on others because of their certain religions. I love all whom say they love God and stick to Christ’s teachings. I also love those whom love God and stick to the teachings they believe in as long as it doesn’t involve being extremist.

I hope it doesn’t sound like I am preaching, and I hope that you forgive me if you have or anyone else has taken it that way. But I am just saying that all religions need to stick together in the dark times we are facing.

If you want me to acknowledge the Book of Mormon as Holy Scripture, you must first acknowledge that the Koran is the word of God. They are the same to me. I do not hate you nor any Mormon, including Beck, Romney, my own brother, etc. I am very familiar with the Holy Bible and that is how I know that the Book of Mormon is inconsistent with it. It is not hatred to call a spade a spade. Research your ficticious author and the Truth will set you free.

I acknowledge that the Koran is believed to be the words of God by Muslims. Same as I acknowledge that the Book of Mormon is the word of the prophets in the America’s by those in my faith. It is called accepting others faith whether you believe it or not. Not criticizing others faith as you preach, I don’t think that is the teachings of Christ.

But as I said I am not going to get into a religious debate here. Though really if you are one to have read the Book of Mormon, then I would urge you to consider what you have found in the Book of Mormon to make you feel the way you do. What it preaches is about loving others even thine enemies and the words of Christ. Even if you don‘t believe in the Book of Mormon I don’t believe that you read it thoroughly enough to criticize the way you do.

Yeah, why would you republicans nominate a seemingly sane, mediocre politician when you could elect a ****** like palin who would hand obama reelection on a silver platter?

I agree with you. I’ve always had great respecti for Romney but he has Mass. healthcare hanging around his neck which was the open door for Obama to make it national. I understand Mass. is has a hugh debt because of Romneycare! Don’t think a lot of people who had great respect for him before now feel the same way! Don’t think he has a prayer of being the nominee in the near future.

Yeah and doing things like taking command of the Salt Lake Winter Olympics that were headed for disaster and turning them around to becoming the most successful Winter Olympics in history. What about RomneyCare? RomneyCare, signed into law by Romney in 2006, is a state-based healthcare plan , unlike ObamaCare, RomneyCare did not raise taxes and the people overwhelmingly wanted it. If the Democratic run state would have left it the way Romney had it there would not be all the problems that have happened with it. But the bigger and more important difference is that RomneyCare was a state program and not a federal one. If states’ rights and federalism are truly important to you, you would readily recognize this distinction. And on top of all this, Romney has consistently voiced his support for the repeal of ObamaCare, this the same Romney that saved Mass. from demise caused by the Democrats? Not once but twice? The ones that fattened up said health care bill. Romney literally saved the 2002 Olympics from economic doom and under his tremendous leadership turned it from deep in the red into the black. Romney saved dozens of companies from closing down & thereby saving thousands of jobs? As a highly successful leader in business, he made money by turning around financially struggling companies like Monsanto, Dominos Pizza, Burlington, Corning, among many others, saving thousands of jobs.
Later he ran a venture capital firm which provided money to numerous startup companies such as Staples Office Supplies, enabling them to expand and create thousands of more jobs. During the 14 years he headed the company, Bain Capital’s average Annual rate of return on investments was 113 percent.
As Governor of MA, he worked to turn around the state’s economy from a 3 billion dollar deficit to a surplus, balancing their budget in less than 4 yrs. And never accepted a salary while in office.
When the 2002 Winter Olympics struggled under scandal and financial disaster he went to Salt Lake, took over for a one (1) dollar salary, leading it to be one of the most financially successful Olympics in US history.
What is wrong with America not wanting the best possible leader we have available? It’s the economy, stupid! Mitt Romney is one of the greatest leaders this country has, after what you have experienced with Obama you should easily recognize this.

Romney also showed great character when did not press charges and remained calm when a drugged-out rapper tried to start a fight with him on an airplane ready to take off .. the same rapper now calls him his homeboy.

His record as fiscal conservative Governor is good. It is just a question of who has more experience and less unpopular policy baggage. His experience of only elected office as one term Governor is signifcantly less compared to Gov Palin who worked her way up over a decade through the ranks holding elected offices as Council Member, Mayor, President of Alaska Conference of Mayors, Governor and then having contested an election on a national ticket. She also has good record as Governor without the baggage of a policy like Government run health care. It is plain record, experience and ability to get voters enthusiastic which would decide the nomination.
