Romney: I Would Vote for Ron Paul Over Obama

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, with Texas Rep. Ron Paul during a GOP debate in October, said Wednesday he would vote for Paul over President Barack Obama if Paul were to win the GOP nomination. (AP File Photo)
GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said Wednesday he would vote for Ron Paul over President Barack Obama, a day after Newt Gingrich said voting for either of the two “would be a very bad choice for America.”
Romney made his comments to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, who asked whether he would vote for Paul if the Texas congressman were to win the Republican nomination.
“You know I’ve already crossed that river, if you will, by saying on the stage a number of times — as I believe Speaker Gingrich has — that all of the people on stage would be superior to the president we have,” Romney said. “So yes, I would vote for him.”
Pressed about Paul’s stance on security issues, particularly his statements about a nuclear-capable Iran, the former Massachusetts governor added that he disagrees with “a lot” of what the Texas congressman says.
“I don’t agree with a lot of the things that Ron Paul says and I would vehemently oppose many of his initiatives,” Romney said, adding that he believes Paul could be moved “in a direction that’s more productive.”
Blitzer asked, “So you think Ron Paul would be a better president than Barack Obama?”
“I have said that and I think Newt Gingrich has said the same thing on the stage when we’ve spoken about our Republican contenders,” Romney said. He added, “This is not a race about people on the stage who I don’t think should be the nominee — my race is about getting me to become the nominee.”

By ALEXANDER BURNS |
12/28/11 8:27 PM EST
In a shock announcement Wednesday night, Iowa state senator and onetime Michele Bachmann campaign leader Kent Sorenson declared that he is now supporting Ron Paul for president.
Sorenson made the announcement at a Paul rally with veterans here in Des Moines, telling the crowd: “I believe we’re at a turning point in this campaign.”
Calling the decision to abandon Bachmann a painful one, Sorenson said he felt obligated to join Paul as the “Republican establishment” tries to undermine his campaign.
“I thought it was my duty to come to his aid, just like he came to my aid during my Senate race, which was a very nasty race,” Sorenson said, pledging to go all-out for Paul over the next few days.
To cheers from the crowd, he continued: “We’re going to take Ron Paul all the way to the White House.”

Johnson told The Daily Caller that his supporters should vote for Paul in primaries, but support his own candidacy in the general election.
“Yeah,” he told TheDC when asked if he believes supporters should vote for Paul — with whom he shares many libertarian policy positions.

Posted on December 29, 2011 at 4:12am@13th: hate to say it but I believe Young may be correct. With the President set to ask for another $1.2 trillion increase in the debt ceiling within the coming weeks, it will lead to another downgrade, falling stocks, and then it gets interesting. All the money that’s been digitized by the Fed, but held from circulation might come into play to assuage doubts in the public’s minds, but then we instantly see the inflation spring in. At that point the $100 bill is worth $50 and a $3 gallon of gas is $6. It gets worse with scarcity of products as people rush to get their prep on. When that happens it’ll be NDAA time. The solution to the problem already exists. They’re just setting the for the house of cards to fall according to their timeline. I sincerely hope my “wargaming” scenario is 180 degrees off.

All we have is his time as Mass Gov and his ‘excuse’ is that he was a ‘R’ in a ‘D’ state so had to ‘conform’. I think he‘s really a ’D‘ pretending to be a ’R’ (RINO) and was more than happy to govern as he did. But will the rest of the country wake up to that in time? I pray they do.

Posted on December 28, 2011 at 8:41pmThe Neo-cons (Newt) and the Democrats are basically the same. Both parties are warmongers and are for big central state governments. This is why Obama is going to approve yet another 1.2 TRILLION budget debt increase in a few days. The Neo-cons will do nothing about it.
Recent world developments indicate that we could soon be in a military conflict with Iran. There goes another 10 trillion dollars and how many lives lost yet again? Can people not see that we are bankrupting ourselves by being the world cops? Walk through the Vietnam memorial in D.C. 10 times like I have and then tell me if that war that took 58,178 U.S. military lives and wounded 153,452 was worth it.

By voting for a man who would not abide by our Constitution solely on the basis that he has been shown to compete well against the current “President” by a progressive and federally regulated media, you are not upholding that oath to your fullest. There is only one candidate that even attempts to live by the Constitution and that is Ron Paul. Independents for the most part decide elections, and polls suggest the majority favor Ron Paul.
Virginia Gov Bob McDonnell has helped usher in the use of a decade old law that, until now, wasn’t utilized. They’ve just begun using the rule that every GOP primary candidate must have at least 400 signatures in every district to get on the ballot. Some coincidental stroke of luck/genius that pits Paul against Romney as the only two candidates on the Virginia ballot. Now the GOP establishment won’t have to worry about a 3 or 4 way split of they GOP voters that would give Ron Paul a likely victory. Unscrupulous! Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli isn’t taking it laying down. Ken will also be running for Va. Gov..

“Porky Paul” sounds like you don’t understand earmarks.
Earmarks are money that’s scheduled to be spent (one way or another)
States vie for the money
If money is left, the president gets it to spend however he wants.
Dr. Paul’s voting on pork/earmarks reflects the fact he doesn’t want to president to get a “blank check”
I support that. Don’t you?

Think President McCain, the guy who just destroyed the bill of rights with Carl Levin, would have been better than Obama?
The same people who presented you with McCain as your choice, are arranging the players that you will pick this time.
Sort of like how the FED chooses the candidates that the President of the United States gets to choose from, to head the FED.
Just keep believing whatever media you’ve sided with, and keep thinking that only one side is attempting to change our way of life.

Posted on December 28, 2011 at 8:37pmWith the EPA, FEMA, DOT, DOJ, and Miltary all gone wild with the will of Obama, we don’t need more of the same with Gingrich, who is a member of the CFR, and Bilderbergers and totally has his own grand ideas like Obama, he is for green energy too. and pro Agenda 21 Perry is a Bilderberger member and pro Agenda 21. If we don’t get someone in the Presidency that is willing and able to take the control of our country back, it will be a very short period of time and we will be living in fear….either in FEMA camps or in the wilderness hiding from the military under martial law.
We need to all come together to save this country. Even though you personally don’t like someone, it doesn‘t mean they wouldn’t make a better President than we have now. I would hope that you would care a little more about saving our country than acting like a spoiled child that doesn’t get their way. Under martial law the option of living in a concentration camp must be happy thought for you, may heaven help you before it is too late.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=13594541#.TvvEaJg5tLQ
You’re aware that the Tea Party began as a Ron Paul movement, which frightened the establishment with the 6 million dollar-in-one-day money bomb that kick started the movement?
A lot of people believe, that Fox news brought in a certain host to help pry the movement away from Paul, and toward “Republican” tea partiers, who actually were just meant as a diversion.
Ever wonder why all those “tea partiers” that came in in the last election, aside from Rand Paul, all voted for the NDAA?
Of course, if you start to look at their records it gets a little tricky trying to wrap your mind around why they’ve voted the way they have.
Here is a Ron Paul video, from ten years ago. Listen to it. All of it. Listen to his prediction about the Arab Spring. The economy. All of it.
These other “tea partiers”, literally came out of the woodwork and took over. Yet, none of them in reality wants to address the core problems. They just want you to vote against Obama, and the “liberals”.
