Romney: If Obama Wins — Iran Will Get Nukes

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney says that if President Barack Obama wins a second term, Iran will obtain a nuclear weapon.

Romney opened Saturday night’s GOP debate with strong criticism of Obama, the Democrat he hopes to challenge in 2012. He says that a Romney administration would prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon — even if that means using U.S. military forces.

Rival Herman Cain says he would not use military action but says he would move warships to the region to deter Iran. Instead, Cain says he would prefer to aid the resistance to Tehran to overthrow the regime.

And rival Ron Paul, a congressman from Texas, says any use of force against Iran would require approval from Congress.

No, but said monkey is (1) not a human being born “equally free and independent”, or (2) a sovereign nation as we are ourselves. Further, if Iran (your symbolic monkey) gets nuke, wouldn’t it be best to stay out of their (monkey) cage. The problem is, defense does not work quite as well when we don’t stay out of their land. This is because, any moral high-ground (bringing heaven’s blessings) we gain by refusing to strike first, is lost when we enter their nation to correct their flaws, whether real or imagined.

He’s right. Iran will get Nukes if Obama continues because Obama doesn’t have the stones to do anything. For that reason, Romney should drop out. Because if he stays in Obama will win. Because a lot of conservatives, me included, are not inspired at all by Romney.

I’m not looking for an entertainer, tough talker or preacher in chief.

I’m looking for a competent, experienced, intellectually and organizationally prepared candidate…..who does NOT have integrity issue baggage/skeletons in closet…….to get to work on Day 1 in the WH.

Cain showed he wouldn’t be ready on Day 1. After 10 days of “heads up” on the sexual harrassment story, he was still NOT ready in an honest and coherent way. His lack of “meat” to his rhetoric/verbage on foreign policy as well as passing the buck to Newt twice in their dual discussion is telling.

Newt has all kinds of baggage and certainly canNOT be considered conservative. Find what he’s been doing since 2008,,,,,,,,,,,hardly Tea Party acceptable.

The United States is not the only one to think, wish or hope they do not get nuclear weapons. Its called responsibility to protect yourselves and your friends. Would you give a monkey a loaded machine gun and then walk into his cage to feed him?

They do not have the ability to create nuclear weaopns on their own. Its our responsibilty to make sure those nut jobs do not get the help they need. They are the cancer of this universe……

The US has been economically neutered – a self-inflicted wound, by the way. We have no more capacity to police the world. The troops are coming home for good soon, regardless of whatever carnage happens across the globe.

Republicans and Democrats are solely responsible for this economic mess, and it is permanent – there is no recovery coming, and the next recession is a LOT closer than Bernanke would lead you to believe. So goes Rome and Greece, so goes the USA. We learned nothing from posterity, and so we are doomed to repeat it.

It doesn’t who wins the WH, Iran will HAVE NUKES BEFORE THE ELECTION. It depends on who wins as to whether they will be allowed to keep and use them. If either Newt or Perry win, I think they will be able to stop or get them to give them up – either by allowing them to turn them in or taking them from them – Iran’s choice.

Sorry Mitt, but it doesn’t matter if Yosemite Sam wins the President Iran is going to get Nukes and eventually we are going to have a Third World War. If Israel attacks Iran they will only slow them down not stop Nuke development. The result of an attack will be a war between Israel and Iran that will eventually involve the West and other Middle Eastern Countries plus China and Russia. Israel is a small country and the only way they could survive an Iranian onslaught would be to eventually Nuke Iram.

If Israel does nothing the Iranians will get the Nukes anyway and export them to terrorist groups. Eventually in keeping with their Twelver mentality they will Nuke Israel and we will still have a another world war. I believe the time to do anything effectively short of a major attack by Israel and the USA is over.It is only a matter of time till the SHTF no matter what crook is President.

Anyone who thinks that the Israelis will let Iran get nukes is living in a bubble.
It will make no difference who is president Israel will not allow it. They stopped it once and they will do it again wether we help then or not. Israeli nukes are a possibility, they will do what it takes to survive, losing means they no loinger exist.
We could stop it with a couple of stealth bombers and some bunker busters – come in below radar and at Mach 1 drop the smart bombs and scram. No more nuclear reactors.

Israel is allowing Iran to get nuclear weapons RIGHT NOW. The US allowed North Korea to get nuclear weapons already. Any saber rattling we hear from the candidates is just that – lies.

That said, it’s none of our business and we need to stay out of the middle east and just let those heathens kill each other.

      Secessionista,
The biggest problem is that the U.S. has gotten so involved about what Israel does or doesn’t do, to the point that they are bordering on dependence upon the United States. They dare not attack if the U.S. is against it.
My opinion is that, if Israel is directly threatened by Iran’s nukes (i.e. Iran gets them and shows immediate intention to fire at Israel), then Israel should blow the snot out of Iran and be done with it. But, either way, such should be Israel’s decisions and should not be unduly influenced by the U.S. public or political opinion in any way other than the simple influence of example (which example is pretty poor in the U.S. right now).

Romney is a liberal RINO and we’ve been there done that. We need a Ronald Reagan conservative. I’m shortlisted down to Gingrich, Santorum and Bachmann. Romney not so much.

Asking Congress to declare a war like in the bad old days? How inconvenient for the likes of Obama, et al. They would much rather deploy military might at the wave of their hand, against whomever they so choose. No matter that the “Arab Spring” is evolving into a playground for the Muslim Brotherhood. The repression in Egypt has already begun.

The question that nobody will ask of the Republicrats: Sir or madam, if you were elected President of the United States, would you invite organizations named by a federal judge as “unindicted co-conspirators” in a terror trial to dinner at the White House like Mr. Obama? If not, why not? Oh, that will get the blood flowing in all those Saudi Princes! Nobody wants to offend the fount of so much campaign cash.

Keep voting for those who would sacrifice your liberty to gain power and reap your rewards.

The msm want Romney to run. Just like they wanted McCain to run. Sure bet for BO to be elected to a second term. The American people need somebody that is fundamentally different than BO. Romney is not. Romney is an establishment good ole boy.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe Romney has America’s interest at heart , unlike BO who’s list ranks America last.

The trouble with Romney is his tenure as governor of Massachusetts. Did he leave that state in a better financial state than when he became governor of that state? NO. What makes anyone think he would do better with the 50 states than he did with the one state?

Okay, he saved the Salt Lake City Olympic Games from financial collapse. How many times is Salt Lake going to host the Olympics? It was a one shot deal. He failed in Massachusetts and won at Salt Lake. Make your choice.

Mitt Romney is consistently confident and seems to make a lot of sense. I’d feel quite comfortable with him as President. He has a great record of managing and solving big problems. Some say he saved some companies by cutting jobs. Isn’t that what we need with the Federal government, that is, streamline by getting rid of deadwood, overly paid jobs??
