Romney PAC Raises $6.6M, Spends $13.9M on Ads

Endorse Liberty, one of Rep. Ron Paul’s super PACs, spent more than it raised in January, The Blaze reported Monday. The Blaze also noted that this probably wouldn‘t affect the PAC very much considering that it’s backed by the generous support of PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.

Today, there is another story of a PAC spending more than it raised in January. However, this time it’s not one of Rep. Paul’s PACs. The PAC belongs to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

The Romney super PAC, Restore Our Future, spent $13.9 million in January and only raised $6.6 million, according to a report filed Monday afternoon with the Federal Election Commission.

The lion’s share of the $13.9 million went towards online and television advertisements. The rest went towards direct mail, phone banking, and polling by a pair of Alexandria, Va., firms: NMB Research and TargetPoint Consulting Inc., according to Politico.

Overall, and as mentioned in the above, the Romney PAC spent far more than it raised. However, much like Rep. Paul’s Endorse Liberty PAC, Romney staffers probably don’t need to sweat it too much — there’s plenty more where that came from. In fact, the Romney PAC finished January with $16.3 million in the bank.

And although the Romney campaign has lost some momentum in regards to fundraising, according to The Federal Election Commission report, it continues full steam ahead with heavy, heavy spending. In fact, much like yesterday’s Paul PAC report, the main contributors to Romney’s PACs aren’t even close to scratching the surface of their total net worth.

“The report reveals 25 six-figure donations, many from repeat donors, which accounted for $4.9 million of Restore Our Future’s January haul, though it doesn’t include any of the million-dollar donations that allowed the group to raise a whopping $30.2 million last year,” reports Politico.

“Restore Our Future received $500,000 checks from three separate donors: coal company executive Joseph W. Craft of Tulsa, Okla.; Bruce Kovner of New York City and David Lisonbee of Sandy, Utah,” the report adds.

Indeed, Romney pulls in a larger percentage of his money from major donors than any major presidential candidate dating back to 2000, said Michael Malbin, executive director of the Campaign Finance Institute, in a recent Wall Street Journal report.

“A total of 81 [percent] of Mr. Romney’s donations have come from people who have given at least $1,000,” he said.

And even if his fundraising has seen a slight decline, Romney can take comfort in knowing that his war chest dwarfs that of his Republican rivals.

“Comparing Romney to his rivals is like comparing the Dodgers to the local high-school team,” said Mike Murphy, a former adviser to Mr. Romney. “He has a huge financial advantage.”

I am getting sick of the MSM using Obam’s numbers against the individual raing powers of the Republican candidates!!!! These numbers of “if the election were today” are just as unfounded as “fair share” and “unemployment numbers” they are in the realm of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck total fantasyland!! Romney should spend all that money on our returning Vets from the wars that he has promoted over the years. His idea of winning the nomination is to belittle and outspend the opponents so that they have to drop out.

Sounds like what the far left Democrats do to win elections.

He should be ashamed of himself and his religion should be ashamed of him. I know that’s not what they teach.

This entire campaign crap is shenanigans. What a waste of money and time. I am sick of all the idiotic Republican debates with the name calling, accusations, etc. I will not vote for either of these candidates. None of them are giving the correct answers to fix this country which is massive debt and spending so why should I vote for them. They are the least of two evils scenario? BS. Tired of that old phrase. This country will continue to decline due to the two party system. Both parties don’t care what is in the best interest of the country. Foreigners come here only to promote, use, and strip this country and promote ideals for the country they came from. This country is on the verge of collapse. They pass laws to steal more money from your labors. There will never be change that is really needed.

I thought that Chris Christie would be the person who has the guts to turn this country around but after he made the decision to lower the New Jersey State Flag to half staff for that drug addict and abuser Whitney Houston I realized he is just another dope in a long list of “leaders” that cannot get the job done. Lowering the flag to half staff is for military people who gave the ultimate sacrifice and NOT for Drug Addicts no matter how popular they are in the BLACK community.

Let’s face it. Romney has so far “BOUGHT” many of the votes he’s received.
Without his negative adds and the millions of dollars spent, he would have lost some of the states he’s only won narrowly. With all the money he’s spent…he should be WAY AHEAD of the game….not even or behind.
Personally, I can’t stand him for starting all the negative campaigning in Iowa. He can’t win on his record in Massachusetts, or his vision, he had to resort to attacking every opponent that has seen a surge in the polls. He’s is responsible for the negative tone of this campaign.

If he’s the nominee, I’ll “HOLD MY NOSE” and vote for him, because I dislike Obama more than Romney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to say that the R3VOLUTION has been around for the last several years and we are gaining momentum. Romney is the epitomy of the establishment candidate. He sounds fake, he says different things to different groups, he is a politician through and through. He is backed by the same people that backed Obama, and some still do. He has moved his position, depending on the situation of the time. and that makes me ill. If they have to change a position, even in the slightest, they are lying to you.

That is why I choose Paul. Nobody is the perfect candidate, and Paul acknowledged that himself when he said: “If anyone thinks that I am perfect, they are in for a rude awakening.” He is an honest man that can even talk about his downside. He is for the Constitution completely and faithfully, and you cannot say that about any other candidate! Santorum is showing his crazy side by saying the Devil is out for America, and everyone says Paul is crazy?! Give me a break! How long will it take you all to see?

Luke 10:25 ¶ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

We have been led here by two families that have been in power postions in Washington for over three decades. The Bushes and the Clintons. Think about that and the positions they have had. There has been one of them in Washington non-stop since 1980. Even before that if you count GHW Bush as director of the CIA. Do we really want to continue to elect the establishment picks for another three decades? They are talking about Jeb coming into the brokered convention!! That is scary as HeII.

We desperately need someone who is completely different, someone the establishment fears enough to cause the media to not report him. Ron Paul is that man.

So far this year, Bain Capital donated $123,200 to the Democratic National Committee. They also donated to a Romney super PAC; $1.25 million!

Romney’s companies have sent 25% of this year’s donations to the Democrats, while in 2008, 2/3 of their money went to Obama!

Romney‘s top contributor is Goldman Sachs who was Obama’s top contributor in 2007-2008:

“According to Federal Election Commission figures compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics, Goldman Sachs’ political action committee and individual contributors who listed the company as their employer donated $994,795 during 2007 and 2008 to Obama’s presidential campaign.”

Who funds him? 10 percent from small individual contributions, the rest from Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse Group, Morgan Stanley, HIG Capital, Barclays, Kirkland & Ellis, Bank of America, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, EMC Corp, JPMorgan Chase. You guys know what these companies are, right?

Let’s look at Credit Suiise Group. “In 2009, Credit Suisse settled on charges that it violated sanctions regulating financial transactions with IRAN!! The charges included “stripping”, the practice of removing the identity and origin of funds used in transactions. Credit Suisse employees stripped the identities of Iranian banks enabling funds to be transferred to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the Aerospace Industries Organization, entities respectively involved in the production of nuclear weapons and long range missiles!!” Wow, I would love to have them filling my pockets, wouldn’t you?

Ole Mittster is such a phony. Just like most establishment repubs. I hope Santorum or Gingrich takes him out this next debate and upcoming primaries. So sick of the perpetual running of Romney. He’s just the worst possbile choice of them all.

Romney is a fake while Santorum and Gingrich are not? That is funny. All three of them are RINO’s!

He’s a clear plastic mold and I can see right through him. I never bought into the Mick Camp. I’m still a Ron Paul supporter, Santorum too. Mick is clean and good looking but that‘s all he’s got going for him outside of all the PAC money and interest he’ll have to pay back if he were to win. He’s the worst person for turning this country around. If you want real change, and, one man cannot do it alone, I say Ron Paul is a good start, or maybe Santorum. I know Ron Paul gets blasted for foreign policy, could it really be any worse than Obama.

I agree; none are close to what I would like in a candidate. I do believe Santorum and Gingrich could beat Obama. I do not believe Mitt or Ron would do as well against the poser-in-chief.

Tron, watch the clip above about koolaid. You are drinking it right now. Paul has the Independent vote hook, line and sinker. He could copyright the Independent vote as his own. He has the young vote, he also has the disenfranchised Obama supporters from 2008, which also includes the young vote. All he needs is the Republican vote, and guess what? He is actually a Republican. I talk to a lot of Democrats as I live in a Dem state. They all, and I mean all, tell me they would vote for Paul if he gets the nomination, but there is no way they would vote for the other three. That means, if Paul is not the nominee, they will hold their nose and vote for Obama again. What will it take to wake up all you, follow what the establishment media says, bunch??? Paul would win the election by a landslide making Obama more like Mondale. Wake up you golden oldies radio host.

Personally I’d say Obama=(Bush)*5. In other words, both are bad but not to the same degree.

…Romney Super PAC spends $13.9 million on NEGATIVE ATTACK ads…

Romney’s ridiculous, EXPENSIVE, egotistical, arrogant, 100% negative campaign is well past its expiration date. America is no longer interested in anything Romney has to offer, unless he offers to drop out.

I think anyone who is not the status quo will be painted crazy, PJ. Do more reading and listening to what Ron Paul has said. He’s the most consistent and has a history. Speak with facts! Fact, Ron had a first meeting about the fed reserve, seems like he’s the only one interested in how the fed reserve is run or should I say, printing funny money. Fact, he would like to eliminate several departments such as the dept of education, what a waste of money. At least we know what Ron Paul would like to do.

PJL, Was Ron crazy when he said this???? http://americanvisionnews.com/1052/ron-paul-knows-nothing-about-foreign-policy-video

I think not. If we want to get out of the mess that our country is in, we need someone who had the vision of what was coming in order to stop the progress that we are in. Wake up and see that Paul is the only one that is talking about the real problems and is the only one that has the real solutions to these problems.

Romney took in 6 millions in donations, spent 13 millions on hit ads. Seems to me Romney has a spending problem. He’s just the guy to turn this nation around.

      @COMMON—–

Yeah, I read that part too. Romney will continue the Obama way. He is the white Obama. Don‘t mean to be mean but that’s the truth. Research his history, if you do, it will be like opening the bedroom window shades on a sunny Sunday morning.
