WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitt Romney and his Republican presidential rivals competed Saturday in caucuses in Kansas and Wyoming, the latest contests in a grinding campaign for the nomination to oppose President Barack Obama in the fall.
A total of 52 delegates to the Republican National Convention was at stake, 40 in Kansas and a dozen in Wyoming.
Romney, the front-runner by far in the delegate competition, padded his lead overnight when he won all nine delegates on the island of Guam and an equal number in the Northern Mariana Islands.
Romney showed strength in Wyoming counties that picked delegates earlier in the week, but did not campaign in Kansas.
Rick Santorum and Ron Paul both eyed Kansas and campaigned there in the days leading to the caucuses.
Newt Gingrich cancelled a scheduled trip to Kansas late in the week to concentrate on a pair of primaries next Tuesday in Alabama and Mississippi.
Romney began the day with 440 delegates in the AP’s count, more than all his rivals combined. Santorum had 181, Gingrich 107 and Paul had 46.
A candidate must win 1,144 to clinch the Republican presidential nomination at the national convention in Tampa next August.
The Virgin Islands also had weekend caucuses.
In sparsely populated Wyoming, there were 15 county conventions during the day to pick six convention delegates. Another six were chosen earlier, with Romney winning 4, Paul one and one uncommitted.
Kansas drew more attention from the White House hopefuls, but not much more, given its position midway between Super Tuesday and potentially pivotal primaries next Tuesday in Mississippi and Alabama.
Paul and Santorum both campaigned in the state on Friday, and Gov. Sam Brownback appeared with each without making an endorsement.
In Topeka, Paul told an audience of about 500 that Kansas should be a “fertile field” for his libertarian-leaning views but declined to say how many delegates he hoped to gain.
Santorum, who hopes to drive Gingrich from the race in the coming week, lashed out at Obama and Romney simultaneously in remarks in the Kansas capital city.
“We already have one president who doesn’t tell the truth to the American people. We don’t need another,” he said.
The former Pennsylvania senator told reporters he was confident “that we can win Kansas on Saturday and come into Alabama and Mississippi, and this race should come down to two people.”
An aide to Gingrich said earlier in the week the former House speaker must win both Southern primaries on Tuesday to justify continuing in the campaign.
But Gingrich strongly suggested otherwise on Friday as polls showed a tight three-way contest in Alabama.
“I think there‘s a fair chance we’ll win,” the former House speaker told The Associated Press about the contests in Alabama and Mississippi. “But I just want to set this to rest once and for all. We’re going to Tampa.”
Romney had no campaign appearances Saturday. The former Massachusetts governor won six of 10 Super Tuesday states earlier in the week, and hopes for a Southern breakthrough in Alabama on Tuesday after earlier losing South Carolina and Georgia to Gingrich.

Posted on March 12, 2012 at 10:27amRomney didn’t pick up all 9 delegates! Funny how when their golden boy doesn’t win the popular vote they say he won because of the delegates he picked up.
Which way are you going to call it a win? Ron Paul ‘won’ the most delegates in MANY of the caucus states, picking up all if them in a few of them but did they say he ‘won?’ NO they said Romney did because he won the popular vote. Now that Ron Paul WON the popular vote in the US VI, they don’t say that, they say Romney won because of the delegates.
The MSM delegate count is skewed. They are counting full delegates to the beauty contest winners when that’s FAR from the truth. The Real Delegate Score: Romney 93, Paul 82 as of 2/21/12 I‘m sure it’s changed by now but to say that Paul only has 33??? That’s a LIE! SHAME ON YOU

___________
Christians (Catholics, Presbyterians, Baptists, Evangelicals, Lutherans and other CHRISTIAN faiths ALL BELIEVE IN 4 SIMPLE CORE BELIEFS:
1 ONE GOD
2 ONE BIBLE (unchanging and true book)
3 ONE HEAVEN
4 ONE HELL
Christians consider it blasphemy to worship another god or to think they can become a god or equal to Jesus in any way
Mormons believe NONE OF THE ABOVE.
Christians do NOT believe ANY OF THE BELOW Mormon beliefs
1 Mormons believe Jesus is one god among many gods including that Mormons themselves when they die will become a GOD.
2. Mormonism is a POLYthesim religion (See above) unlike the other religions (Christianity-Judaism-Islam) which are MONOtheism.
3 The bible is NOT the only book and NOT even the most important Book of Mormon and most important – Mormon Doctrine and Covenants “improved” the bible.
4 Mormons believe in 3 heavens and no hell.

The Catholics believe you get to heaven through confession of your sins. Both of these beliefs are good things to do as Christians, but Christ said the only way to heaven is to believe in him as the son of God. Christ taught the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do to you. Love your brothers as you love yourself, forgive your enemies and also love them as you love yourself. A lot of Cristians and Mormons think the opposite when it comes to the U.S. foreign policy, do unto others before they have a chance to do unto you (pre-emptive strikes) based on reports of nuclear weaponry. That seems to me to be opposite of Christ and what is opposite of Christ is Anti-Christ. Which are you?

They, like you, focused on the differences, or as one pastor calls the negotiables, in the religions–but not the similarities or non-negotiables. The negotiables are whether I raise my hands in church, speak in tongues roll in the isles like the charismatic churches or sit on their hands, pray silently, wear choir robes and serve communion once a month like the Baptist–neither of which are wrong, wouldn’t you agree?. Believing in or practicing these negotiables neither qualifies nor disqualifies one fro being a Christian. The same is so for some of the negotiable in the Mormon doctrine. Whether I believe the Joseph Smith was a Prophet, forever families, that the Book of Mormon is true or that the Godhead is three in one or three in one purpose neither qualifies nor disqualifies me as a Christian. Posted on March 10, 2012 at 8:54pmThe question I have for you is what does qualify on to be truly a christian. The answer is:
1 Believing that Jesus Christ was sent fro God to be the savior of ALL mankind.
2 Believing that Jesus was born of the Virgin birth.
3 Believing that Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life.
4 Believing that Jesus did all the miracles and hearings as the Bible teaches.
5 Believing that Jesus came to this Earth to pay the price, the atonement, for each of our sins. Past, present and future. Why? To pave the way for all of us to get back our Father in Heaven.
6 Believing that after Jesus died on the cross, he rose on the third day, was seen by the disciples and many other people.
7 After Jesus time on Earth was complete, he ascended into heaven on a cloud.
I believe all those things, and so do all my Mormon brothers and sisters. Do you? I hope you do!
Also, the Bible says judge not lest ye be judged. You are judging ALL Mormons as unbelievers. Do you understand the consequence of judging others beliefs/Christianity? Certainly your Christianity will be judged by Jesus himself. With the harshness you exhibit towards others, will it be you who is found wanting on that great and periless day?

Based the many posting I have had to endure, I have determined you are a liberal, Obama-loving, OWS supporting, religion hating woman who really just operates off of emotion and not logic. It really makes sense to me now. I know for a fact you Obamites do not want to face Romney in the up-coming–hence all the support for santorum in michigan, et al. So I see you post your incorrect religion references, your professing to be a “true” follower of Christ all the while doing the exact opposite of what He asked us to do–Love our neighbor–even love our enemies. Oh, but not you. No, you have special dispensation to judge, evoke contention, try to divide by using inflammatory and debasing remarks, all the while saying how you’re “true” religion will save you while damning all others to hell. And so, I believe I have found you out. I read so many others who do not espouse the Mormon religion, but recognize their right to believe they way they want to and admit to their individual kindness, friendliness, honesty, etc. These people exhibit true Christian attributes. But, not you. Now, I’m not JUDGING you, just taking you at your words and deducing the kind of woman you are-hateful.

You are also wrong in stating that Christians have only one Bible, you are wrong in proclaiming that Mormons believe they will become a “God” and rule over other planets, you are wrong in claiming that Mormons believe the Book of Mormon is more important than the Holy Bible, you are wrong in claiming that Mormons believe they will continue to have spirit babies after they die, you are wrong about a magical hat as well as magical underwear.

In reality, it is you who is trying to deceive others into believing that Mormons are not Christian, when they clearly are.

Mormons didnt event polytheism, or the belief we, and you, can receive the joint blessings of Christ (joint hiers of Christ as spoken in Roman 8:14-18) which is to receive the blessing of deity. I refer you to the following:
Justin Martyr (100-165) – Listen, sirs, how the Holy Ghost speaks of this people, saying that they are all sons of the Highest…They know not, neither have they understood; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be shaken. I said, You are gods, and are all children of the Most High…But as my discourse is not intended to touch on this point, but to prove to you that the Holy Ghost reproaches men because they were made like God, free from suffering and death, provided that they kept His commandments, and were deemed deserving of the name of His sons…thereby it is demonstrated that all men are deemed worthy of becoming gods, and of having power to become sons of the Highest…(Dialogue With Trypho, 124)
And we have learned that those only are deified who have lived near to God in holiness and virtue; and we believe that those who live wickedly and do not repent are punished in everlasting fire. (First Apology 21)
Irenaeus (115-200) – Men therefore shall see God that they may live, being made immortal by that sight and attaining even unto God. (Adversus Haereses, Book IV 20:.6)

I can give 31 pages of reference to common teachings of the early Christian fathers synonymous with LDS (Mormon) belief including pre-existance, baptism for the dead, separate nature of Christ to God, eternal marriage. Your respective religions have been hi-jacked. Catholicism calls these teaching heresies yet the men they glorify as saints and pope’s intructed these teachings for 1000 years without condemnation. But it is your history– if you are a Christian..a TRUE CHRISTIAN whether Catholic or a break-off (and every church but LDS is a breakoff)…then you should believe these things; because the very founders of the Roman church taught these things.
Now, if you wish to prejudice your vote as due a man’s Christian belief you are doing our nation an injustice. The nation is a business and we need a man who excels at business.
Quit your lying and spewing bullsh it–its pitiful, its doing this nation and yourself a disservice. Vote on the REALITY for what your candidate represents.

Mitt Rooney’s father is a Mexican citizen & this disqualifies him also. Republicans joined democrats in trashing anyone bringing up the topic.

“Don’t be distracted by the birth certificate and Indonesian issues. They are irrelevant to Senator Obama’s ineligibility to be President. Since Barack Obama’s father was a Citizen of Kenya, and therefore subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of Senator Obama’s birth, then Senator Obama was a British Citizen “at birth,” just like the Framers of the Constitution, and therefore, even if he were to produce an original birth certificate proving he were born on US soil, he still would not be eligible:

You state that “The US Supreme Court definition of an Article 2 Section 1 natural-born citizen as stated in Minor v Happersett is strictly limited to those persons born in the United States to parents who were citizens.” But that is not true. Here is what the Supreme Court said:
The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CASE IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO SOLVE THESE DOUBTS. It is sufficient for everything we have now to consider that all children born of citizen parents within the jurisdiction are themselves citizens.
Minor v. Heppersett, 88 U.S. 167-68 (1874)
The Heppersett opinion concerned women’s sufferage. The Supreme Court expressly noted the limited scope of its words. Did you read the opinion yourself or were you just repeating what someone on the internet told you?

That’s the key, but don’t tell that to the Santorum supporters; they don’t appear to have any foresight, and they actually believe Santorum can beat Obama in November. It’s beyond laughable.

Posted on March 10, 2012 at 3:22pmwe need a brokered convention so that the media is not the ones deciding who our nominee is. It happened in 2008. We need to get this down to santorum/romney/paul – the three of which represent the three wings of the republican party. Once we get to that point, we can figure out who has the most chips

Gingrich should just drop out. Stop it with the posturing and such, and get out. This country has no love for, yet, another Narcissist in the White House.
Paul…I know he wants to keep going, but he better start thinking about Rand’s future. We all seen what happened after Bush left office. People began demonizing the family name to the point that anyone resembling him gets the sharp end of the stick. And Rand has a very good future ahead of him. Don’t kill it out of spite.

Fun how people just love Rand but hate Ron. They almost have the same exact policies. Ron and Rand are fighting to keep the Constitution alive. Some people like to be slaves.

Not all the candidates are backed by corporations like Romney and Obama. Do I want Ron Paul to win? Yes. Is he the only candidate that supports the Constitution? Yes. Does Romney share most of the same views on real issues as Obama? Yes. Can Romney, Santorum, or Gingrich beat Obama? No.
If the talking heads supported the Constitution and Ron Paul the GOP would have a chance. Since its clear the sheep dont get it, I am just preparing for the storm that is coming. If you would like to support a candidate that wants more war, cuts nothing, and allows our freedoms to be slowly taken away just like Obama fine. I will not support that person, I will not do another Mcain.

Since I have been old enough I have voted for Dole, Bush, Bush, and Mccain. I was a sheep before the 08 election but did what people like Sean, Bill, and Rush said to do and got behind Mccain. Then I started watching Glenn Beck and he opened my eyes to these issues and I started doing my own research.
I am 35, married, 4 kids, own my house, Southern Baptist, live in the south, and have never done drugs. I am supporting Ron Paul because I want my kids to have a better life. If we elect people who are ignorant to our debt issue, keep the fed, keep up the spending, continue the wars, and take away our freedoms my kids have no chance. You can call me names, call Ron Paul names, but you never seem to address the issues brought up. Have you ever even mentioned an alternative for people who want freedom, to stop the spending, cut the debt, and end the wars?

Probably the worst name I ever called you MARTINEZ was a Ron Paul supporter/acolyte (sorry, did call you a possible McKinney supporter), Lol.
I address the issues you speak of all the time. I just don’t do it in your favored format like a campaign commercial. AND THAT ticks off all Ron Paul supporters. I would rather spend my time talking about what Ron Paul acolytes want to hide or ignore regarding your, their messiah. I find THAT better time spent and more informative than repetetive campaign speeches here.
I chose a different path.
