Romney Recalls Obama‘s ’One-Term’ Proposition in FL Victory Speech: ‘We’re Here to Collect’

“Three years ago this week, a newly elected President Obama faced the American people and said that if he couldn’t turn the economy around in three years, he’d be looking at a one-term proposition. We’re here to collect.”
That was the central focus of GOP front-runner Mitt Romney’s rousing victory speech. He delivered his remarks after enjoying a sweeping victory in the Florida Primary.
“There are fewer candidates than when the race began, but the three gentlemen left are serious and able competitors,” he added. “And I congratulate them on another hard-fought contest in this campaign. Primary contests are not easy – and they’re not supposed to be.”
“As this primary unfolds, our opponents in the other party have been watching,” Romney said. “They like to comfort themselves with the thought that a competitive campaign will leave us divided and weak. But I’ve got some news for them: A competitive primary does not divide us; it prepares us. And when we gather here in Tampa seven months from now for our convention, ours will be a united party with a winning ticket for America!”
He added that leadership is about “taking responsibility, not making excuses.”
“In another era of American crisis, Thomas Paine is reported to have said, ‘Lead, follow, or get out of the way.’ Mr. President, you were elected to lead, you chose to follow, and now it’s time for you to get out of the way!” Romney exclaimed to resounding cheers.
Watch Romney’s speech below via PBS. A partial transcript follows:
Below is a partial transcript of Romney’s speech:
My leadership helped build businesses from scratch. My leadership helped save the Olympics from scandal and give our athletes the chance to make us all proud. My leadership cut taxes 19 times and cast over 800 vetoes. We balanced every budget, and we kept our schools first among fifty states. My leadership will end the Obama era and begin a new era of American prosperity!
This campaign is about more than replacing a President. It is about saving the soul of America. President Obama and I have two very different visions of America.
President Obama wants to grow government and continue to amass trillion dollar deficits. I will not just slow the growth of government, I will cut it. I will not just freeze government’s share of the total economy, I will reduce it. And, without raising taxes, I will finally balance the budget.
President Obama’s view of capitalism is to send your money to his friends’ companies. My vision for free enterprise is to return entrepreneurship to the genius and creativity of the American people.
On one of the most personal matters of our lives, our health care, President Obama would turn decision making over to government bureaucrats. He forced through Obamacare; I will repeal it.
Like his colleagues in the faculty lounge who think they know better, President Obama demonizes and denigrates almost every sector of our economy. I will make America the most attractive place in the world for entrepreneurs, for innovators, and for job creators. And unlike the other people running for President, I know how to do that.
President Obama orders religious organizations to violate their conscience; I will defend religious liberty and overturn regulations that trample on our first freedom.
President Obama believes America’s role as leader in the world is a thing of the past. He is intent on shrinking our military capacity at a time when the world faces rising threats. I will insist on a military so powerful no one would ever think of challenging it.
President Obama has adopted a strategy of appeasement and apology. I will stand with our friends and speak out for those seeking freedom.
President Obama wants to “fundamentally transform” America. We want to restore America to the founding principles that made this country great.
Our plans protect freedom and opportunity, and our blueprint is the Constitution of the United States.
Together, we will build an America where “hope” is a new job with a paycheck, not a faded word on an old bumper sticker.
The path I lay out is not one paved with ever increasing government checks and cradle-to-grave assurances that government will always be the solution. If this election is a bidding war for who can promise more benefits, then I’m not your President. You have that President today.
But if you want to make this election about restoring American greatness, then I hope you will join us.
If you believe the disappointments of the last few years are a detour, not our destiny, then I am asking for your vote.
I’m asking each of you to remember how special it is to be an American.
I want you to remember what it was like to be hopeful and excited about the future, not to dread each new headline.
I want you to remember when you spent more time dreaming about where to send your kids to college than wondering how to make it to the next paycheck.
I want you to remember when you weren’t afraid to look at your retirement savings or the price at the pump.
I want you to remember when our White House reflected the best of who we are, not the worst of what Europe has become.
That America is still out there. We still believe in that America.
We still believe in the America that is a land of opportunity and a beacon of freedom. We believe in the America that challenges each of us to be better and bigger than ourselves.
This election, let’s fight for the America we love. We believe in America.
Thank you. And God bless America.

Mitt is actually a conservative. He’s made a few mistakes and has changed positions before, but has stuck to his convictions since he switched. Romney likely to get destroyed by Obamma. MSM media is voting for him big time. Why? Obamma is going to have a field day with painting Romney as the 1%. My teenage son’s could figure that one out. Romney is going to be painted as a flip flopper far more than Gingrich did by the Obamma attack machine. OBAMA ELIGIBILITY COURT CASE…BLOW BY BLOW
By Craig Andresen on January 26, 2012 at 9:25 am
Given the testimony from today’s court case in Georgia, Obama has a
lot of explaining to do. His attorney, Jablonski, was a NO SHOW as of
course, was Obama.
The following is a nutshell account of the proceedings.
Promptly at 9am EST, all attorneys involved in the Obama Georgia
eligibility case were called to the Judge’s chambers. This was indeed
a very interesting beginning to this long awaited and important case.
The case revolved around the Natural Born clause of the Constitution
and whether or not Obama qualifies under it to serve. More to the
point, if found ineligible, Obama’s name would not appear on the 2012
ballot in Georgia.
With the small courtroom crowded, several in attendance could be seen
fanning themselves with pamphlets as they waited for the return of the
attorneys and the appearance of the judge.
Obama himself, who had been subpoenaed to appear, of course was

Except the conviction that Romneycare is right for Massachusetts.
Hardly anybody is really a right-in-the-middle moderate, anyway. Probably most people are against theocracy and against communism and against bribery. They don’t want a moderate, middle-of-the-road amount of theocracy, communism, and bribery.

If Mitt wins 3
http://fathersmind.blogspot.co...
Very insightful
One of the lessons conservatives must learn should Governor Romney win Florida and go on to win the nomination is to start early to plan and to coalesce around a figure or figures that would run. It seems that the conservative movement thought that a leader would rise and find acceptance by all. Most conservatives I know are almost as threatened by the prospects of a Romney presidency as they are by an Obama second term. The Any body but Obama phenomena would loose 50% steam right after the primaries, if Romney wins.
Politics has a myopic sight problem. It only allows one to see now, not even two years ahead. In 2008, the right wing of the GOP would easily have taken Mitt Romney over John McCain in a heart beat, but this year, Romney is almost a political anathema of Obama proportions to them.
Only a handful of political leaders laid proper ground work for a presidential run. Of course that is one thing Governor Romney has done right. So if Romney wins, Conservatives will rue their inability or short sighted error of not preparing for what was obvious all along. And this is why in as much as I love and respect Michelle Malkin, Mark Levin, Glen Beck and many others, their point in endorsing Santorum makes moral sense, but is nothing but political naïveté. (How dare I say so of my heroes)

Not many people agree with every policy of any candidate but they are willing to “compromise” on certain issues. My thoughts are that “compromise” is what led us down this economic collapse. However, I do not think that is the big issue in this campaign for me. I think it the rapid expansion of government in our lives. Who are you supporting?

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:04pmI’m excited that Mitt did so well in Florida. You can honestly say that Gingrich, Santorum, or Paul, could do any better again Obama. It‘s so sad to see all of you jump on Romney’s back to tear him down. I think I can safely assume that most all of you have recieved all of your information about Mitt, his life, his policies, and his record from the liberal media. Have any of you done the research yourselves? Or do you just go to opinion sites to hear little bits of truth that are so sickly and strategically twisted? Mitt is a conservative, you’ll see that when you do your own research. I know you will all slam me for saying that because you are sucked into the “Hate Mitt” train. I’m in the tea party and our local group has vetted him every week for the last 8 months. He has been grossly mis-represented in the media and by the general tea-party establishment. It’s dividing our party, and we must unite to beat Obama! Please research and UNITE!

I’m still infinitely happy, because my egotism is personally justified, but, we have to support this unprincipled uncaring fake?
Someone on NRO made a brilliant point. Saying Romneycare is all right, because it’s only a state matter instead of a federal matter, is like saying the Jim Crow laws are all right, because they are only state laws. Why is socialism okay for a state? Who is he, Howard Dean?
And Massachusetts has the highest premiums in the country — and that’s all right? If you have no conscience. If you don’t care. If you don’t care.
And tell me he isn’t amoral.
Draft Daniels. Newt was a great candidate. So was Cain. They were destroyed by smears. Who did the smearing? Someone with an awful record, and no personal recognition of morality.
If Newt can quick get a good $20 million in superpac money, there’ll be no more need for my surface halfhearted despair, and your less egotistical agonized despair. There’s nothing good about a smearing candidate with a terrible record. Don’t elect a prettier Nixon. Draft Daniels.

Newt Gingrich has an affair and divorces his second wife after she is diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis
Cost: At least some off the 1.6 million from Freddie Mac and all the other money he made influence peddling in DC.
Chances that when Newts sorry campaign comes to an end he will pull an Edwards and has not only another affair but a love child. (Which is highly likely given the record so far)

I spent the whole Gingrich speech staring intently into Callista’s Sacred Golden Helmet and became almost hypnotized. But, in it, I began to see visions of the future. You see, it’s not just hair, it’s a communication device, like a crystal ball, and Newt uses it to guide his campaign. Callista is mute, and cannot speak, but on her shoulders is a magical miracle. I realized though, staring into it without her knowing, that to destroy it’s abilities one only has to mess it up. It would be hard to do, and will require tools of metal, but it can be done. If Deacon Rick can find a way to get to it, Gingrich would be finished and Rick could pick up the conservative mantle, bore us to death and start a gay civil war.
