Romney & RNC Beat Obama, Dems in Fundraising

Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee outraised President Barack Obama and the Democrats by more than $16 million during the month of May.

Romney and the RNC raised a combined total of $76.8 million, compared to $60 million netted jointly by Obama and the Democratic National Committee.

The RNC announced the latest haul Thursday morning and has $107 million on hand. The Obama campaign, which announced the $60 million earlier Thursday, did not say how much it had on hand.

As Politico noted, May was the first month for a direct dollar-to-dollar comparison after Romney effectively wrapped the GOP nomination in April.

I don’t want an Idol for president. I want someone who will roll up his sleeves and work with whatever congress and senate he gets from us voters. The current POTUS only likes his rules and himself. His ideas and no one else. He has played people for 3 yrs and wants to finish the job of destroying our financial stability. WE were downgraded once already. I sure miss America and the people who use to defend it. Obama has a lot of them conned.

if a constitutional candidate is ‘not electable’ (as you say), then what is the point? If we can only put progressives into power – then we might as well spend our time preparing for collapse instead of fixing the system

Obama will get plenty of money. The problem for the RNC is they picked a candidate that has zero enthusiasm behind him. Yes he is going to get the establishment vote and yes he will pull some of the middle from the disenfranchised but over all this race will boil down to turn out.

Obama has the black vote, the union vote, the liberal vote, the pro choice vote, the gay vote, the celeb vote, the white guilt vote, the anti Bush vote, voter fraud vote, and the on the government doles vote.

Romney has the establishment vote and the ABO vote.

The swing votes will come from independents, anti war, and the Ron Paul supporters.

Well I do believe currently Obama has the edge on the solid votes. I believe Romney is going to have a hard time in the debates and will lose independents but for now I give Romney an edge on the independents. I give Obama the edge on anti war people even though he has continued and expanded them. I believe maybe half of the Paul supporters will join in the ABO group but not enough to give Romney victory. My prediction is Obama wins big.

As a Ron Paul supporter I see no difference between Romney and Obama and refuse to vote for either. I will cast my vote for Ron Paul and stand with principles.

The RNC is destroying all credibility they once had.

      1) It‘s against the RNC’s own rules to endorse/fund a candidate before the candidate has been nominated
      2) A majority of that money is coming from special interests and big banks… and they’re celebrating that?
      3) Romney, at the time of this post, only has about 750 delegates, none of which are bound to vote for him. They called the race before it was even half over.

If Romney is nominated in Tampa, it’s pretty much guaranteed Obama will win. Romney is just another McCain, only possibly worse. and we all know how well that turned out!

Well there you go again MUTINY. You speak 3-6 months out of the current climate and not sure why you insist on doing so. In the end, independent and undecided voters swing to the opponent in the closing weeks and months of a presidential election. Stats show if Romney and POTUS are polling at 45-45 resp., It’s a Romney win. Like I keep telling you, it’s hard to find a good Democrat these days. Most have looked at the big step to the radical left and want no part of it. Vote for whoever you want, it’s your right. Know that GOP with the influence of the TEA Party has won every key election since 2008.

Also look at these #’s from Progressive WI. PPP’s sample found that 28 percent of likely voters were Democrats, and 35 percent were Republicans. In 2008, 39 percent of voters were Democrats and only 33 percent were Republicans. That’s a 13-point swing. In PPP’s poll, 17 percent of voters call themselves liberals and 41 percent call themselves conservatives. In 2008, the exit poll numbers were 23 percent and 31 percent — an 8-point conservative lead, not a 24-point lead. Source: SLATE.com May 16, 2012. Currently Obama and Romney are within any margin of error in WI…who’da thunk after a 14 point trouncing in 2008 by POTUS.

      @inlight

      There I go again?

Look Obama crushed McCain last election by over 10 million votes. You have a divided GOP and independents are going to be hammered with ads showing Romney is rich guy that has no idea what is going on. Romney has been on the same side of every major issue Obama is on now. Or he can point out the 2007 debate where he called for a national health care mandate. Or he can go to the clips of Romney praising Obama for using his plan in 2009.

Point is Romney is a fake. He might be better than Obama but they both take us to the same place which is bankruptcy.

      MUTINY:
I think I effectively dispelled your enthusiasm statement. National surveys are showing a similar trend as the field is set…or at least most people feel is set.

Even close to 40% of union households voted for Walker. San Jose and San Diego voted to cut municipality union bennies. People are starting to get this figured out and Romney will only be worth a darn with more conservative wins in the Houses. As much as everyone tends to beat up on POTUS, it’s the 90% around him and the pending SCOTUS selections coming up.

Unless I’m mistaken…The Constitution established a division of power between the federal and state governments developing units to support the fields of defense, foreign affairs, control of currency and the control of commerce BETWEEN states. Romney can be pushed down this path…

Romney has zero excitement for him. The only excitement in the GOP comes in two forms the Ron Paul crowd and the ABO crowd. Scott Walker won because Scott Walker is doing a good job. Romney is not going to feed off that. Also the cheating has begun on the left yet. As I said earlier though, neither option is good and I dont vote for the lesser of two evils.

Is he the first president to be in recess most of his 4 yr term in our nation’s history? and then be the first president to transform this nation as much as he has while in recess? In other words, the super-elite wanted both wealth and power, and this meant placing the rest of us at a systemic disadvantage in our own pursuits. Later, Quigley outlined the truth about the two-party system in America:

“The chief problem of American political life for a long time has been how to make the two Congressional parties more national, and international. The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea, acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers.

Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can “throw the rascals out” at any election, without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy… [E]ither party in office becomes, in time, corrupt, tired, unenterprising, and vigorless. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of those things, but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.” (pp. 1247-48)

Quigley identified shadowy organizations, such as the Council on Foreign Relations, based in New York, and the Royal Institute of International Affairs, based in London, as front organizations for the Round Table Groups he mentioned—sometimes specific individuals such as J.P. Morgan, the banking titan.

While the article was written in the Bush2 era, the current establishment reaction to Ron Paul pretty much proves its main point. You might want to re-examine yourself – I have – it ain’t easy or comfortable. I’ll be looking for more of Mr. Yates’ articles at Mises.org.

Professor Quigley was openly telling us of a hidden power system—a super-elite—operating behind the scenes. He identified it as the “Round Table Groups.“ These controllers ”wish to remain unknown” as they work out their plans for the world. What are their plans for the world? Quigley elaborated:

“[T]he powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands, able to dominate the political system of each country, and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion, by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements, arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences.

The apex of the system was the Bank for International Settlements in Basle, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world’s central banks, which were themselves, private corporations. The growth of financial capitalism made possible a centralization of world economic control, and use of this power for the direct benefit of financiers, and the indirect injury of all other economic groups.” (p. 324)
