Romney Scores Easy Win In Puerto Rico GOP Primary

(AP) – Mitt Romney scored an overwhelming win Sunday in Puerto Rico’s Republican presidential primary, trouncing chief rival Rick Santorum on the Caribbean island even as the two rivals looked ahead to more competitive contests this week in Illinois and Louisiana.
The victory in the U.S. territory was so convincing that Romney, the GOP front-runner, won all 20 delegates to the national convention at stake because he got more than 50 percent of the vote. That padded his comfortable lead over Santorum in the race to amass 1,144 delegates to clinch the nomination.
Nevertheless, the GOP nomination fight is unlikely to end anytime soon, with Santorum refusing to step aside even though Romney is pulling further ahead in the delegate hunt.
As the day began, Santorum claimed he was in contest for the long haul because Romney is a weak front-runner.
“This is a primary process where somebody had a huge advantage, huge money advantage, huge advantage of establishment support and he hasn’t been able to close the deal and even come close to closing the deal,” Santorum said. “That tells you that there’s a real flaw there.”
Yet, Santorum sidestepped when asked if he would fight Romney on the convention floor if he failed before August to stop the former Massachusetts governor from getting the required number of delegates.
Romney, in turn, expressed confidence that he’d prevail.
“I can’t tell you exactly how the process is going to work,” Romney said. “But I bet I’m going to become the nominee.”
Both are aggressively competing in the next two states to vote. Illinois, a more moderate Midwestern state, is seen as more friendly territory for Romney, while Santorum is the favorite in the more conservative Southern state of Louisiana.

Anyway, Romney is a perfect vapor-headed conscienceless liar, and if you’re impressed with him, you’re pretty near sick. As sick as — I’ll get off that topic. There’s no reason to support him other than that you have totally given up, and you don’t care any more. Because any lying idiot would do an ideal job compared to Barack Obama. Because any lying idiot can be President, just as long as they aren’t the other lying idiot. That belief is why we’re here. That belief is why this country is on the edge of literal destruction.

Posted on March 19, 2012 at 11:27amOn Thursday, Romney called a radio station in San Juan (Noti-Uno) for an interview with a local reporter. When asked if he would support requiring that English became the principal language of government as part of a petition for statehood, Romney said no. When asked if he thought the legislature should have English as the principal language, once again Romney said no. He even opposed requiring English in the courts and public schools.
In Louisiana and Alabama, Mitt Romney is for English as the official language of the United States. In 2008, when Romney sought the GOP nomination, he was upfront about his opposition to bilingual education and his support for ending it in Massachusetts. But in Puerto Rico, he is a strong advocate of bilingualism and opposes requiring the state to make English the principal language of the legislature, courts and public schools. This only makes sense in the Romney World of Flip Flops.
But Romney took it a step further. He stated that a simple majority of 50% + 1 was enough for him to aggressively support statehood for Puerto Rico. As Rick Santorum said during his trip to Puerto Rico, “We need a significant majority supporting statehood before it’s considered. Why would we want a state where nearly half of its residents do not want to be part of the Union?”

Posted on March 18, 2012 at 8:51pmIn 2008 Romney was the 2nd-3rd runner in the primaries. When he saw he could not win by pure electoral and popular vote, he did the HONORABLE thing and backed out, giving his delegates to McCain. This allowed the ‘weak’ fontrunner to mount the best contest he could against the democratic candidate. Originally this was thought to be Hillary, but resulted in Obama. When that happened NO ONE was going to beat him. But the point is Romney did what was right for the Republican party and conservatives.
But, what’s happening now? Gingrich has ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE to get the nomination and has declared to stay in until the end. Why? To prevent Romney from getting the delegates he needs early on– His words, not mine. Not to further his presidential aspirations but to limit Romneys–the one cadidate with the most votes and delegates to date. And Santorum? The same applies. They both call Romney a weak fronrunner but their votes and delegates combined don‘t equal Romney’s. Where is their honor in allowing a strong frontrunner go forward and start beating Obama NOW?! They must know to draw out the nomination process will weaking whoever gets the nod. But, that’s not important. It‘s pride and personal agrandizement that’s more important.
We only have one chance to beat Obama and we need to start now. Everything else is secondary to this goal.

Posted on March 18, 2012 at 9:31pmYou guys need to stop listening to the media Gods. Paul is in second place in delegates. There are more Paul supporters as delegates than Santorum and Gingric combined. The media just does not report that fact. I am willing to bet we go to an open convention, and I also bet on the second round of voting, when the first round fails to nominate, that Paul will have a chance at securing 1144 + votes. I also bet that the dishonest GOP will try to silence that majority with some kind of fraud. If that happens, we will call for a third party run and then we will have an interesting general election. The GOP will at that point become irrelevant. Oh it will be sweet.
By the way, if it comes to a third party run, I will be calling for all Paul supporters to boycott all GOP candidates at that time. If the GOP continues to do fraud in the process, I will do my best to campaign to Paul supporters to put an end to the GOP. I have been a Republican my entire life, but am appalled at the GOP’s actions.

Quick, cover up – your ignorance is showing!
Did you know that German was almost our official language? This was due to the large number of German immigrants during the formative years of our republic.
Did you know that the conference which inducted New Mexico was conducted in Spanish?
There’s nothing wrong with allowing people the freedom to pick a different language as their official state language. Our Constitution was designed to allow greater autonomy among the states then we currently have.

Posted on March 19, 2012 at 1:14amNot to mention that our imposing English on a territory/state where practically no one speaks it as a first language is the moral equivalent of what the illegals are attempting to do the predominately English speaking states/regions in the south and mid west.
