Mitt Romney doubled down against same-sex marriage Saturday, using his commencement address at Liberty University to reaffirm his belief that marriage is between “one man and one woman.”
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee told graduates of the Jerry Falwell-founded evangelical university “culture — what you believe, what you value, how you live — matters.”
“As fundamental as these principles are, they may become topics of democratic debate from time to time,” Romney said. “So it is today with the enduring institution of marriage. Marriage is a relationship between one man and one woman.”
President Barack Obama came out in support of same-sex marriage earlier this week.
The statement was one of Romney’s loudest applause lines during his keynote speech.

We know who the real front runner is, we do not listen to the lame stream media like Fox, we see the truth. Paul supporters are very motivated, loyal and knowledgable about how elections work. We follow the rules, even though the GOP does not, and we are using the rules against the GOP to get our delegates in place. We have taken over seats at the local, district and state positions and we will continue to prevail.
Rule 38 will give us the ability to get Paul nominated at the convention. The RNC attorney solidified this in ’08 when she wrote a letter to Utah stating that delegates cannot be bound, but can vote their conscience on the first round. The RNC has nothing to do with election law as they are a private club.

Never had one single important piece of legislation in all his terms or however many…30 years in Congress and the ONLY time we heard from him was when he’d run (4th time) for President always backed by Idealist Libertarians attracted by the legalize drugs and prostitution and isolationist views of Paul. I like his son about a zillion times better…why don’t you go back him for future office?
The same demographic of males aged 18-28; loner-types; as vengeful as the gay rights advocates; demonic and frankly, crazed follow Paul. They (like the Liberals) MAKE UP FACTS – twist accounts and edit truths about their ‘opponents’. Paul lost most of us, however, on his stance on Israel.
I’m sorry, dudes, but there are SOME THINGS that we DO have to stand up for. Protecting Israel and Jerusalem as open/free city is one of them. We do have to have some rules or we wouldn’t be in any thing but chaos. We are here on earth thanks be to GOD, and therefore not just living for ourselves. You take the individual freedom way too far. You are doing it now. Posted on May 12, 2012 at 4:33pmPatty, If you only had a clue. The Revolutionary War was started by less than 20% of the people. We are in a r3VOLution again with less than 20% of the people and we will win. As Adrian Monk would say: “You will thank me later.” It is time that we pull our heads out of our A$$E$ and get back to a Republic instead of continuing a socialistic democracy. I cannot help it that Romney does not have the base to fight for his nomination like the Paul supporters do. We are in this to win and win we will.
Report Post »Romney says whatever he thinks you want to hear in order to win your vote, Paul tells the truth no matter how much you do not want to hear it. If a candidate has to move to the center, left or right in order to win your vote, they are lying to you. You cannot make Romney a conservative, it is not in his heart. He is part of the elite class and will do their bidding. Paul will tell them to take a flying leap. I will not vote for baseless campaign promises and neither will the majority of Paul supporters. Romney cannot win as he does not have a true base. Paul has a fervent base and he could throw Obama out by a landslide.
Paul supporters have been very stealthy in getting delegate spots and there are many in the so-called Romney delegate count. Sorry, but those are the facts. In the primaries, when Paul supporters were asked who they were for, they just replied, anyone but Obama and were elected delegates for Romney. Rule 38 says they do not have to be bound to Romney! Sorry.

Posted on May 12, 2012 at 4:36pmWhat’s the difference between a Civil Union and a Marriage?
Why do people legalise their unions?
I’ve asked these questions of someone who believes in gay marriage before and he said that the only difference between the two is that the general public look upon marriage with more respect. That marriage has a long tradition. So then I wanted to know what was it about marriage that gave it it‘s respect in the people’s eyes? Why would a couple who are not traditionally united want to hijack a tradition? Do they want to create a new tradition? If so, why not make a civil union the new tradition, give it a new name.
The following link is an excellent look at why marriage is important and why it should not be open to change for gay couples, polygamists or anyone else. That it is a structure that has been implemented for Children. That to put anyone else above the needs of children is just plain wrong.

1. Denies that God says homosexuality is a sin.
2. Supports open homosexuals in the military.
3. Supports the “freedom philosophy” of legalizing marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and all other hard drugs. He stated “Government has no role or authority in regulating drugs.”
4. Supports legalization of pornography and prostitution.
5. Supports right of homosexuals to marry one another. i.e. “gay marriage.” (“Gay couples can do whatever they want.”)
6. Is “pro-choice for states” on abortion. Individual states should be able to legalize abortion if they so choose. Shouldn’t all pre-born babies possess a God-given right to their own lives without a state determining whether they should live or be murdered?
7. Supported abortion legislation regulations which have resulted in 7.4 million chemical and surgical abortions since his congressional seat in 1997.
8. Doesn’t believe it’s government’s role to “legislate morality” even though all laws are based on morality.
Support for Ron Paul will be a vote for Barack Obama. Only instead of an American apology tour, Ron Paul would go on an American capitulation tour.

By allowing homosexual marriage what Rights and Liberatys, everyone else is going to have to give up.
Right now you have the right to live your life anyway you choose, think anyway you want, believe in what ever you want.
But if a Law like this would come in to being, you would lose many of your rights.
The biggest losses would be Parental Rights, Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech.
Parents would no-longer be allowed to teach their own morals and values.
Any religion that dosen’t agree with homosexuality would have to be closed.
Anyone that openly disagreed with homosexuality or homosexual marriage, would deemed as inciting hate speech and would be arrested for violating homosexual rights.
The Federal Government would have no choice but to take away other peoples rights, because they will have granted more rights to homosexuals then any other citizens under the Constitution.
The government would be creating a new species…..

In fact that is the biggest threat to this country right now but the MSM got you guys all worked up about saving Israel and fighting for their ME objectives. Fact is Israel can defend itself adequately but if you got the US brainwashed why not just let us take care of their foreign policy. Mitt will loose to Obama, there will be a currency collapse after they drive inflation through the roof, and there will be civil unrest. Ron Paul is the only one that takes the Money seriously and has offered the necessary cuts to hold back most of the damage. Posted on May 12, 2012 at 3:36pmIt’s nice to double down on the definition of marriage, as this is a tradition and again the Progressives and special interest groups want to re-write history by changing this word to fit their personal agendas for personal gains.
But the economy, stupid, is what this election is about. Get off the ultra-conservative agenda and back to the country’s.
For instance, and this is just one topic: What is Romney’s plan for dealing with the likes of Bernanke and his holding down of the interest rates so the politicians can borrow 43 cents on every dollar borrowed, at the expense of your investments (retirement, etc.). The Fed controls the current fiat economy/money. We were warned of this by T. Jefferson. (I think him?!) This is where Ron Paul is spot on and no one is listening to him.
If interest rates go up the the government has to pay higher interest rates on its borrowed/printed fiat money, and the government is subject to collapse a la Greece. We currently are at 100% Debt to GDP. Ouch!! Bernanke and NoBama and the D‘s and the R’s have caused this. This cannot go on.
So…what is Romneys plan to correct this and get your personal investments on track again?
Romney is just playing politics and is on his personal task of becoming president, for his ego, and not for fixing our country, or his message would have more substance.
The “R” in Romney isn’t for Republican but for RINO.

When I heard that the Local School District, was changing the State Mandated Sex Education Classes, I went down and sat in one of the meetings. The School was pushing the “just use a condom’ and the “Gay Lifestyle” on the children of my community. Next thing I did was get on that Sex Education Board. I spent the next 8 miserable weeks going to meetings with 8 Libs trying to discredit, lie, and just plane wear me down. In the end I was successful in stopping it. But the kick in the teeth was when we had the open meeting with the public. NOT 1 PERSON FROM THE COMMUNITY SHOWED UP! None, not one parent, not one Minister, not one Rabi, not one Priest, not even a Politician came. What have you ever did to stop this from happening in your Community? Are you just one of those people wanting someone else to do your dirty work? You think Romney is the man for the job?

Well, it is past time for all of us to stand, and stand we will We owe nothing to anyone except God in Heaven. What some want the world to become is not what the people who founded this country wanted it to become. This country was not founded to become one big hedonistic society, corrupt and swinging from limb to limb. This Republic took hard work and to maintain it will take hard work. Posted on May 12, 2012 at 2:57pmYou may be “RIGHT” but you’re wrong. The Supreme Court just needs to uphold our country’s value that says that ALL people are created equal and are entitled to the pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Even this wingnut Supreme Court cannot deny that homosexuals are people and citizens too. They pay taxes and make positive contributions to our great country like heterosexual citizens. The Supreme Court already set a precident by making interracial marriage legal in 1964 by reasoning the exact same logic that I use here. After this decision, it made discrimination of marriage by reason of race illegal in ALL states. This will do the same for same sex couples.
Report Post »This is NOT a religious issue. Religious people don’t need to get their panties in a twist about this either. You’re not going to see church be forced by a government law to accept any gay person into their congregations nor dictate that they perform any marriage ceremonies for gay couples. The 1st Amendment to the Constitution protects churches from this. (I live in a state where many same sex couples are welcomed)
Bottom line is that If you don‘t like gays and you’re not gay, this won’t affect you. For those who think everyone else’s bedroom is their business, I suggest you follow the Bible’s advice to take care of what is wrong with you before you try to fix someone else. Right wingnuts LOVE to try to legislate how other people live their lives, taking their rights and freedoms

Posted on May 12, 2012 at 2:10pmRomney needs to step up to the plate and swing for the fence in order to get voters enthusiastic about his understanding of the American dream. It all starts at home with families.
The progressives continue to raise taxes, raise debt and lose jobs all of which has a more dramatic impact on the family, because there are more involved and affected by these problems caused by the progressive socialist agenda that King Hussein has implemented.
Romney should campaign that he is here to save the backbone of the Republic, by supporting policies and actions that will benefit the families that make this country what it is and will become.

Romney needs to attack every policy the progressive socialist are beating us over the head with and show how it directly attacks our ability to raise our families. From unemployment to national debt all of these are family values issues. It attacks families harder than the individuals and makes it harder for families to stay together.
This is why they do it and this is how they plan to tear our Republic down. One family household at a time, until their is nothing left but a bunch of same sex couples raising illegitimate babies to be good little communists.

Posted on May 12, 2012 at 2:02pmI believe you to be absolutely correct. I also believe if Romney would show the correlation between King Hussein’s policies and results and how they directly attack the traditional American families he will get the same result from voters across the US as the states do when voting on the same issues that attack the families.
Every policy and act that King Hussein has implemented or caused by his policies are a direct or indirect attempt by the progressive socialist to undermine the traditional American family. From excessive debt to high unemployment and everything in between put more stress on families than they do the individual citizens. Unemployment causes more families to separate and become disjoined than when parents have jobs. High debt will cause more stress on our children when they have families, due to higher interest rates and making it more difficult to purchase homes to secure our families.
The progressive socialist want to destroy our Republic and they will do so one family at a time if that’s what it takes.
Romney has an opportunity to wake the American people up and show them how four more years of attacking the traditional American families will cause the destruction of our society and the fall of our Republic.
When voting on saving the traditional American family the people of the United States have shown they understand the importance of protecting that institution. Romney needs to explain to all how these policies are attacks on family.
