Ron Paul’s Wife Has a Cookbook and One Favorite Ingredient Is…Doritos!

Ron Pauls Wife Carol Has a Cookbook

Nothing goes wasted in the Texas home of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. Especially in the kitchen. The Wall Street Journal recently sat down with Rep. Paul’s wife of 55 years, Carol, to sample some of the mouthwatering and out-of-box recipes in The 2012 Ron Paul Family Cookbook. While self-admittedly liberal on the calorie count, the recipes in the book may remind you of some of Rep. Paul’s stern libertarian beliefs, as they avoid constant chef intervention and use of resources that are not already on hand.

Ron Pauls Wife Carol Has a CookbookYou can find dishes and snacks in the cookbook like King Ranch Chicken, Zippy Olive Beef Spread, and Easy Oreo Truffles. Favorite ingredients in the Paul kitchen include cream cheese, ranch dressing, and Doritos. The Pauls‘ oldest son Ron told WSJ that dinner growing up wasn’t always gourmet, “but it was good, solid food,” and most importantly enjoyed all together at the table.

The 28-page 2012 cookbook is only the latest collection of recipes from the Pauls.Wearing an “End the Fed” apron, Mrs. Paul explained to WSJ that the cookbook series began in 1995 to combat criticisms toward Rep. Paul based on his opinions toward the War on Drugs.

“People started saying that Ron wanted to give drugs to kids, and Ron said, ‘Let’s show them our kids have all done well, they’re not into drugs.’ ”

Paul’s campaign website says the collectible cookbook will “warm your kitchen and your heart,” as it features not only recipes, but a brief history and photos of the entire Paul family.

The Pauls have five children, including Republican U.S. Senator from Kentucky Rand Paul. Rep. Paul announced in May that he would no longer actively campaign for the Republican president primary in the 11 remaining states due to lack of funds, but will be joined by his 137 delegates at the Republican presidential nominating convention this summer. Rep. Paul emailed supporters this week acknowledging that he won’t have enough delegates to win the nomination, but is yet to formally pull out of the race.

And all founding fathers loved it too. But I never touch the stuff. You might forget your baby on top of your car though, or you might get into bathsalts and eat a face.
      P.S. I don’t wonder why they prescribe medical marijuana. It’s too get high and because now crappy doctors can make a killing. Did you know genius who has “done the research” that you could have been prescribe a drug called Marinol that has the supposed medicinal benefits without the groovy high??? Yes, I would love to see a miricle, which if you believe in God and that the liberty movement is from God, it could happen. I know the road looks weary right now, but put your faith in the liberty movement, and do not put one man so high in it. Ron Paul is not going to quit the liberty movement even if he does not get the nomination. Keep staying true to your beliefs, and the fight for liberty, and we will prevail, but as in all of Gods battles on earth, there is misery and heartache. It is what makes us stronger as individuals. Keep the faith, keep the fight and lets bring liberty to America again.

      Yawn. When will you finally look at the situation and understand that it is Congress’ job to allocate the funds. If they don’t, they go to President Obama as a big, blank check. Nothing he included in any of those spending bills added a dime to the budget, merely allocating what was already going to be spent. His constituents pay their taxes and if they’re going to spend their money regardless, they deserve to have some of that budget return to their district.

      I know, you‘ll ignore this explanation and you’ll continue to criticize Dr Paul over this, but I wouldn’t expect any less from your Willie.

      Why should we care?

      ————————————————————
      “In a long-forgotten tape from the 2002 Massachusetts governor’s race obtained by ABC News, Mitt Romney is seen touting his Washington connections and his ability to get millions of taxpayer dollars from the federal government.

      “I am big believer in getting money where the money is,” Romney says on the video, “The money is in Washington.”

      The video, which was surreptitiously shot by Democratic opponents of Romney on Oct. 16, 2002, shows him addressing a group called the New Bedford Industrial Foundation. The Power Point presentation he uses lists ways to improve economic development in Massachusetts, including “boost federal involvement.”

      “I want to go after every grant, every project, every department in Washington to assure that we are taking advantage of economic development opportunities,” Romney tells the group.

      @QPWILLIE

      Earmarks are another red herring for the uneducated. You are ignorant, so I will explain it for you.

      If congress is going to pass a spending bill, then earmarks add nothing to the overall cost. They just direct how the money will be spent.

      Banning earmarks saves zero. You are just being suckered by McCain and other politicians. Like campaign finance reform, you make a lot of hype over an issue and then maintain the status quo.

      Ron Paul’s strategy is: I’ll vote against spending, but if you pass the bill, I will make sure part of it goes to my district. This makes sense. Why should his district suffer, since they will be paying the taxes?

      Your attack is either because of an irrational hate of Ron Paul or you are too stupid to understand a simple mechanism like ear-marks.

      I suspect it is both because you are happy to support the people who vote for trillions in spending over someone who promised to balance the budget and cut govt.

      “Extremism in the defense of LIBERTY is no vice”

      Thats from Barry Goldwater. I love that quote cause it sums it up perfectly. No matter how wild some of us Paul supporters are or how diffrent or unusual we want liberty. So if you hate on us you are hating on people who want small limited government that is accountable to the people. We want maximum liberty. We want our republic. We want our constutition. We want to follow that constutition no matter what, come war or peace. Rich or poor. Better or worse. Thats what we stand for. Thats why we are so “extreme” in our support. I wish you understood. I think Ron and Rand have compromised with the republican party and took his supporters in the liberty movement for a ride.

      I told you guys that Ron Paul is a treasonous good for nothing! Noooo, but you didn’t listen to me, lol.

      Ohhh, and stop listening to Adam Kokesh. That Military record embellishing John Kerry styled dead-ender, and Russian KGB paid TV personality will rot your brain like Alex Jones.

      JUST. I don’t fly anymore. I suggest you keep your child away too if you are concerned. That would be pro-active. If I can’t get there by driving… I don’t go. Saw the world before the TSA.

      Time Ive said from the start Ron Paul is a politician. Its his voting record and his policies that I love. Not the man himself. I think for myself and follow no man blindly.

      @BilderbergBecky13
      I watched the video – I think there is a lot of truth to that. It does seem Ron’s campaign was never geared to WIN. The biggest example is not going after Romney – the most progressive of the 9 or so candidates. Instead, they always went after the #2 man, even though Romney was always the biggest threat. I live in Virginia – there was nobody on the ballot except Paul and Romney. Paul spent zero time and money here and only lost 59/41….He could have won the state outright with a little bit of campaigning (imagine the shockwaves that would have been sent)

      @Time2
      Your flaw all along was your ignorance about Ron Paul supporters. You think you know them based on a few posters on this site and anti-war protesters you met some day on the street. We are the most imformed group of voters in this country. We know the flaws of Ron Paul – and they are tiny compared to the flaws of the other candidates.

      Ron Paul has always had a problem with trusting the right people underneath him. Its a common thing among the best thinkers (Einstein and Thomas Jefferson). But watch out, Ron Paul is about to be set free from the constraints of Washington and he will be out there with his message FULL TIME. Ron Paul is only the messanger – not the messiah

      Time. yeah now you dont have anything to say. Nothing to say about the TSA coming to bus stations, highways and railways? Nothing to say about the check points? nothing to say about them in Dallas, Houston, Memphis and in ALL THE 50 STATES? Atleast Paul railed against the TSA.

      I knew all about the crap sandwich of Paul supporters looong before coming to The Blaze. Research and personal contact baby!! I came here to be a counter-balance with one thing in mind… to expose the Ron Paul ideology for what it truly is (a diseased strain of Libertarianism) and expose his supporters for what they (you) truly are on a predominantly Conservative message site where it would do the most good.

      Based on what I‘ve seen over the many months that I’ve been here… the majority on The Blaze are a snapshot of Conservative voting America (with some die-hard Libs sprinkled about), and Ron Paul has once again been cast aside by a common sense electorate in the GOP nomination process.

      All you guys and gals have going for you now is hook or crook styled insurgent tactics. I wouldn’t be too proud of that, or what I‘ve read from the majority of Conservative posters here regarding y’all… proud that you’re a Ron Paul supporter.

      BUILDABETTERBURGER. Not once in my life have I come in contact (or the other way around) with TSA. I’m no fan of TSA or their tactics, so I choose not to put myself in a position to have to worry about it or them.

      Wow Time2. You really have made a difference in the world – maybe even changed the course of history. Now you can ride off into the sunset knowing that you did everything you could to preserve the progressive strain of the republican party.

      SOY-EFFECT. I won‘t take any credit for Ron Paul’s continued ne’re-do-well status as a Presidential candidate. He never really wanted to be President anyways. He knew he was way outa’ his league and just took your money for pure narcissistic reasons. What a wasteful guy!

      Now we have to get the other minor leaguer out of office. You on board? Lol.

      Clam down there, Individualism. All of the Paul’s are happy with having Romney as the next President. I’m sure that son, Rand, spoke with dad, Ron, BEFORE endorsing Romney. What bothers you about Romney being a Mormon? It didn’t seem to have had any effect on the people of Massachusetts when he was governor, there, and his being Mormon won’t have any effect on your life. In fact, it will be nice to have a President that hasn’t killed his own brain cells with drinking, smoking and crack cocaine.
