Rosie O‘Donnell’s Producer Compares Post-Abortion Guilt to Blaming a Rape Victim for Her Clothing

On Thursday‘s edition of Rosie O’Donnell’s XM/Sirius radio show, abortion was on the agenda. What could have been a rational discussion about the nation’s most debated social issue ended up being a slew of left-leaning perspective on the matter. In the end, some pretty bizarre statements were made. Newsbusters has more:
On Thursday’s edition of Rosie Radio on XM/Sirius, Rosie O’Donnell discussed talk show host and comedian Chelsea Handler’s recent statement in a New York Times interview that she had an abortion when she was sixteen and still feels she made the right choice. Rosie and her executive producer Janette Barber agreed that it was courageous of Handler both to reveal the abortion and to say she doesn’t regret it.
Here’s where it turned ugly. A woman who had personal experience with abortion called in and expressed regret over her decisions. While Rosie responded pretty well to the woman’s admission, the producer’s rebuttal was disturbing at best. She dismissed the notion that the caller should feel any guilt over her abortions, comparing the woman’s understandable emotions to the blame that rape victim might receive for wearing skimpy clothing. Newsbusters provides a transcribed account of the interaction (notice Rosie actually being the voice of reason here):
JANETTE BARBER: To me, it’s almost like saying, ‘Yeah, why were you in that alley in short shorts when you got raped?’
O’DONNELL: Well, it’s different, because one is preventable and one isn’t, right? If you‘re in an alley and you’re raped, you don’t have any control –
BARBER, not budging: But [people will say] ‘ your problem was you shouldn’t have gone in the alley, you shouldn’t have worn that outfit…’
But Barber’s cracked-up commentary doesn’t end there. After stating that she’d “fight to the freakin’ death” for abortion rights, she explains what, as a kid, she had planned had she found herself pregnant in a nation that didn’t afford women abortion rights:
I had plans [in the event of pregnancy]…I‘m gonna wear a tent dress while I don’t eat so I can get big and I can go in the woods, have it, kill it, and bury it, ’cause I didn’t know how else I would get rid of it if I lost that right. I was pretty young when I had that plan, and I got over it.
Apparently, when Barber was young, nobody told her that adoption might me a more welcome plan that a covert birth and subsequent child-murder in the woods. Luckily, she “got over it.”
Rosie has tackled abortion on her show in the past. Below, hear a clip where she discusses taxpayer-funded abortions versus paying for unwanted children in foster care:

Barber represents the typical lib (probably atheist/agnostic) secular humanistic view/living in denial bc they can’t handle the truth. They’re very good at it and some actually believe it. Most libs, “New Agers”, etc. are really very emotionally “fragile”, shallow, short sighted types who can’t face realities of life very well and so they make up and live in their own little fantasy world. They also don‘t want to feel they’re accountable to a “God”. The reality is it‘s murder and the one who called in with the guilt was the one who’s facing the truth and….it hurts. But that’s the beginning of healing. Not reported (on purpose of course) is all the traumatic emotional, mental, spiritual torture women go through afterwards…not to mention the physical problems & those that still die from this. I’m still holding out for the day that Roe v. Wade will be reversed – all things are possible with God.

I raised my hand and said “a baby.“ She looked at me and I could see her thinking ”o no, I got one of THOSE in my class.” Killing these babies hurts the baby (obviously) but you’re right- it also hurts the mother. And I’d argue the men and the entire family ideology as a whole also.

Abortion was illegal then but “butcher shops” did them anyway.
Deaths were reported routinely where things went bad.
Amateurs would poke around with a coat hanger and start an infection or a fatal hemorage.
Roe v Wade tried to balance the evils by permitting abortion in the first trimester and beyond.
I think it was a decision right up there with Solomon’s figuring out the real mother.
You can change the law again but abortion is not going away.
It is a fact of life (and death).

The left climbs all over the death penalty because an innocent person might be found guilty and die but a definitely innocent life dying in an abortion is just dandy? Get a brain.
All of the 100s of thousands of abortions here each year are not from incest or rape or danger to the woman’s life, it’s abortion for convenience. While couples search for a child to adopt, some think it’s okay to to toss them in the garbage pile.
Another reason I question if the left knows how to take care of anything but entitlement and act like babies.

I would like to direct your attention to the last set of parenthesis which state Rosie was being reasonable. HOWEVER, Ms. O’Donnell has made some very inflammatory statements in the past, which she does have the right to do. At that same time, she did not endear herself to many people. Because of that, people are less likely to actually believe that she could be reasonable this time. She started out being the “Queen of Nice” and then morphed into something totally different and now people who were tricked the first time are not about to let her trick them again.

If somebody wants to commit murder, sure they have the ‘right’ to do that (although I don’t think any murder should be legal but it is) but don’t just expect me to be an accessory to that murder by helping to pay for it! They can choose to do it but we should have the right to choose not to pay the bill!

It’s how the species continues @ GOD’S will for whatever purpose HE has. We cannot control anything but our choices : Do right or do evil.
Those Tornadoes should prove beyond a doubt that WE are NOT in control of life. IF people are going to fight GOD, they will lose. Why? It’s ALL His. Was and WIll Be ALL His. The Good News is that WHAT HE wants for us is about a zillion times better than we could conjure up for ourselves!
And…all the pain, trauma, loss, sadness ….all will work together for GOOD for those of us who love God….so poor little Rosie can scream and pound her fists, but it changes nothing.
ALL of the problems we face in the world today stem from our lack of Faith; Belief and Worship of GOD. He doesn’t need us praying to Him. We’re the ones who need that..but when we pull away we become as useless as an unplugged light.
