Rubio Takes on Obama, Dems: ‘We Don’t Need New Taxes, We Need New Taxpayers’

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) took to the Senate floor Wednesday in joint remarks with Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), attacking the Obama administration’s approach to fixing jobs and the debt. He said:
We don’t need new taxes. We need new taxpayers, people that are gainfully employed, making money and paying into the tax system. Then we need a government that has the discipline to take that additional revenue and use it to pay down the debt and never grow it again. That’s what we should be focused on, and that‘s what we’re not focused on.
You look at all these taxes being proposed, and here’s what I say. I say we should analyze every single one of them through the lens of job creation, issue number one in America. I want to know which one of these taxes they’re proposing will create jobs. I want to know how many jobs are going to be created by the plane tax. How many jobs are going to be created by the oil company tax that I heard so much about. How many jobs are created by going after the millionaires and billionaires the president talks about? I want to know: How many jobs do they create?
Rubio also dismissed Obama’s previous statements that nothing is “off-limits“ and that everything should be ”on the table.”
There’s no serious discussion of a spending cap. I’d love to have a vote on a balanced budget amendment, why is that not on the table? Why aren’t we voting on that tomorrow?
But I actually think some things should be off the table…I think all bad ideas should be off the table. I think anything that kills jobs should be off the table. I think anything that hurts the ability of job creators to grow their business should be off the table. I think anything that helps increase the unemployment rate should be off the table.
Watch Rubio’s remarks below (highlighted quotes start at 09:20):
Debt and spending are on everyones’ minds — as are the nation’s continued economic woes. This morning, President Obama addressed the June increase in unemployment during a special press conference in the Rose Garden.

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 4:55pmThat’s easy. He just has to point out that we could collect many times more from “new taxpayers” without raising tax rates if we closed the loopholes that allow American corporations to avoid paying taxes by claiming to operate out of a mail drop in another country. Then he could point out that it is Republicans who prevent us from making such reforms.

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 2:07amChet, get yer head out of your ass, everyone has “loopholes”, ways to reduce your taxable income. After these are applied to the “evil rich”, corporations, businesses, etc. they are still paying through the nose. The top 10% of wage earners are paying 60 to 70% of the tax burden. In many cases these are the people providing jobs, manufacturing, investment, goods, services, risk taking, etc. Your proposal has already driven many out of country. Besides that, corporate and business taxes are de facto taxes on consumers, and when they for some reason can’t pass them along, they have to raise prices or lay people off. I know it’s difficult for marxian tinkerers, to comprehend free market capitalism.

No, they aren’t. Since we lowered their taxes over ten years ago, they have done nothing to create jobs in this country and continue to create jobs in other countries instead, If we cut their taxes to zero they would still stick all the extra money in their own pockets and do nothing for anyone else.

It’s a shame it took a black president to awaken the American people to change the governments bad ways and try to set the right course for the future. I‘ll bet the left and the socialist never thought that they were going to awaken a sleeping giant but they have and hoprfully it’s not to late.. Come on 2012….enough said..

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 12:21pmThe democrats love to brag about the ‘Clinton Era’ of Budget Surplus.
Challenge them to return to Clinton Era spending.
We’ve doubled spending since then, we are going in the wrong direction.
The democrats are overwhelming the government programs, collapse the system.
Not just a Glenn Beck conspiracy theory, this is democrat policy.

Posted on July 8, 2011 at 12:19pmIn 2009, after a long drawn out FOIA battle, Trentadue finally received video tapes from cameras within the proximity of the Murrah building. The tapes show footage taken by cameras situated at four different office buildings. All of the video cameras blanked out in the minutes before the explosion and do not show the Ryder truck allegedly used in the attack. Remarkably, the feds claim all four cameras ran out of tape at the same time and then mysteriously came back on after the explosion at 9:02 on the morning of April 19, 1995.
