Rudy Giuliani’s Not Ruling Out Another Presidential Run

In a speech yesterday to the Republican National Lawyers Association, Rudy Giuliani had plenty to say about President Obama’s foreign policy, American exceptionalism and the Sept. 11 terror attacks. But, his most ear-catching words focused on his potential bid for the presidency in 2012:
“I will sure think about it. … It’s too early and I want to see how it all develops. My major goal is to elect a Republican in 2012. If it turns out that I’m the best one to do that, I can probably be talked into doing it or convince myself to do it. If I thought somebody else had a better chance of doing it, I would be a very enthusiastic supporter of somebody else.”
This comes only one week after Guiliani delivered the ketnote address for the National Automatic Merchandising Association’s OneShow conference. While Guiliani‘s speech didn’t hint at a potential presidential run, VendingMarketWatch reports that he discussed his take on effective leadership, his penchant for fiscal responsibility and his tenure as mayor of New York City (all subjects that a potential candidate would clearly want to delve into).

This begs the question: Would Americans support Giuliani? A recent NY1-YNN /Marist Poll found that Giuliani, when compared with other GOP heavyweights, has the most support (37 percent) among New Yorkers.
Following the Osama bin Laden saga, Giuliani has been appearing daily on mainstream media outlets (earlier this week, he called for President Obama to release bin Laden’s death photos). The recent developments have certainly provided him with a platform. While some are questioning whether he’d have a legitimate chance at securing the nomination, let alone the presidency, only time will tell what Giuliani’s future holds.
On Thursday, he appeared on CNN, making some very positive statements about Obama’s handling of bin Laden:

Posted on May 7, 2011 at 4:09pmGuys, watch out for Herman Cain. We all should know by now that the Federal Reserve is an evil institution run by bankers who want to control your lives and steal your money to transform the world in their liberal vision. HERMAN CAIN WAS A FEDERAL RESERVE CHAIRMAN AND STILL WORKS FOR THE FEDERAL RESERVE. Don’t be fooled by him, he wants to move this country even further into the control of liberal bankers!

Posted on May 7, 2011 at 3:57pmRudy? really? Cain? Cain v BO? i don’t think so. Cain makes me thing of 2008, McCain v BO. We need a true conservative, and i don’t know who that is yet. IT SURE IS NOT THE Huck or Trump or Romney. If we run a rerun we will lose. We need somebody new. With a record we can trust.

Posted on May 7, 2011 at 2:53pmEven though he once enjoyed some popularity as “America’s Mayor” he will never be America’s President. Neither will Donald Trump. If you want a New Yorker, George Pataki would be able to defeat Obama.
I’m not supporting Pataki, merely pointing out who is and is not electable.

Posted on May 7, 2011 at 2:50pmIf Rudy runs, he needs to RUN. The last time he floated along and, when the going got a little testy, he dropped out. You either want the job or not. If not do not waste time and money.

Posted on May 7, 2011 at 1:09pmSeems to me that the republicans ought to have a pre-election to find the one that the most people like. Might need to have several of them to narrow down the field. Give them air time to explain their views and ideas and let the people decide who they want.
