Rumors of Alleged Affair Continue to Plague SC Gov. Nikki Haley

Accusations of infidelity did not keep South Carolina Republican Nikki Haley from taking over the state‘s top office during last November’s election. But the conservative political blogger who originally made the accusations, Will Folks, is continuing to make waves and promising to release a new book about his alleged affair with Haley.
Haley has repeatedly denied Folks’ claims and said she has been “100 percent faithful” to her husband. Gov. Haley has also pledged to resign from office if Folks’ claims are proven true.
Aside from Folks’ book deal, Haley has also garnered some negative attention from the local media after publicly criticizing one network for airing excerpts from the “tell-all” book. Early Monday, the governor posted a note for one local station on her Facebook profile:
The station is not taking the governor’s comments sitting down, however. WACH Fox station management is calling for a retraction and public apology from Haley.
“Mr. Folks published a statement that essentially calls the sitting governor of our state a liar; and he then dared her to sue him for it. From my perspective that is absolutely a newsworthy event,” says WACH Fox news director Bryan Cox, adding that the station accurately reported the story.
Additionally, WACH Fox President/CEO David Olmsted stated Tuesday the governor‘s published comments are patently false and appear to be a willful attempt to inflict harm on WACH Fox in response to the station’s fair coverage of a relevant news story the governor apparently wants ignored.
“The WACH Fox news department has published or broadcast more than 100 stories pertaining to Gov. Haley during the past year. Despite that voluminous amount of reporting, there is not a single documented instance of the governor challenging the accuracy of any fact in any of those reports,” said Olmsted. “The governor‘s own actions concede the station’s coverage has been consistently fair, credible and accurate.”
“It’s entirely possible that Will Folks is lying,” Cox admitted. “However, if he is, our society has a legal framework in place to recover damages for libel and defamation. The fact Folks is taunting the governor to do exactly that, along with these unanswered questions, forces us to accept at least the possibility he may be telling the truth. That’s legitimate news.”

She’s taking the worst possible approach. She should either not respond at all beyond “I won’t dignify this garbage with a response” or go on offense and file a lawsuit. Sniping at a TV station for airing the story just adds fuel to the fire.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 7:13amWhat a pile of dung. Hypocracy: a meaningless word, an excuse for failure. The world collapses around you from outright thievery, degradation, violence, and poverty; but you see no CAUSE of it all, efforts dont matter, we are all after all flawed and doomed to fail? Sounds like the argument for massive state sponsored abortions, cant you see they have no hope, cant be redeemed, cant be educated, must end up the same regardless of personal effort. ABort them all! Liberal hypocrisy haters must push the lie, dont try to improve, dont encourage others, if you do the forces of satan will crush you and expose you as a HYPOCRIT. Posted on February 10, 2011 at 6:52amI have always hated hypocracy above most everything. To sit in smug judgement over another human is a balm that broken people use to make themselves feel better.
I see this expressed mainly in the form of religious people who make moral judgements and attempt to codify them in laws. Then we discover they are trolling bathrooms or having affairs. None of which I would care about, but it makes you a lair and hypocrite, and you want to regulate MY personal life?
And I put all if those who rail about the liberals using “alinsky tactics” or saying they will stoop to ant level because the “end justifies the means..” This is something EVERYONE does in degrees
How about the investigations into Clinton and Vince Foster, or the willful spreading of lies about Obama? It’s hypocracy as well. Everyone uses similar tactics, to say one is somehow more pure, is to be a hypocrite.
There will be more republicans who fall from grace, more democrats, and as Tea Partiers gain power and move to DC, it will happen to them as well. It’s human nature.
Let’s fight over ideas and leave the government out of how we live our lives, wether we are gay, pot smokers, adulters, etc. And leave the moralizing and name calling where they belong, in church and Je High School.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 5:09amrogue, Truly Exceptional Americans
Well, we all know our Founding Fathers were quite human, meaning they had their episodes with sin, just like the rest of us. Yet they fashioned for us a government that has out shined all of mankind for 5000 years. Should this great experiment, our American heritage, survive the next couple of decades, we would be well advised to no longer call it an experiment. Our survival, our Exceptional reaches, are all dependent on a bunch of… sinners. That is the way it always has been and always will be.
I have certainly known many false accusation. Just today, I had to spend much time with a number of people because partial truth swiftly led to false assumptions appearing to wrongly tarnish my record. And too, a number of times I have been accused of infidelity. It is an easy lie, that is almost impossible to rebut. It is hard enough to prove what did happen. It is many times harder to prove what never did happen. Defending against such lie almost defies logic and thus a favorite to deploy as the ultimate ploy. It is like defending against, ‘have you stopped beating your spouse yet?’ Whatever you say, however you react, it will be used against you.
I do not pretend to know the truth about Haley. I have heard her enough to believe she is an exceptional American who fully embraces the Founding Father’s principles. I do know her to be a sinner, just like the rest of you. And yes, I admit, three fingers point back at me. The question can never be, ‘Do we elect a sinner or not?” There is no alternative. Conservatives need to learn how to wear sin, not as a badge of honor or shame, but as natural reality. Liberals certainly have no problem with sin, often making it into a badge of honor for themselves and dishonor for those who disagree with them. Such is one of their hypocrisy. The sting of sin lies wholly in the hearts and minds of Conservatives . Admitting we are all sinners destroys the threat of hypocrisy and denies the Liberal illegitimate foothold amongst our grassroots. Better the sinner that is known, than those who openly ignore God and His standards.

Although this Folks is a low-life dirtbag who will make money from a kiss and tell rag, my gut tells me he isn’t lying. I hope I’m wrong, but he says he will support his claim with “conclusive” evidence (emails and ??) that Gov. Haley is lying. Keeping in mind this “alleged” affair happened four years BEFORE she became governor. Scandalous, perhaps, but the public is discerning. Seems to me the SC voters factored this in and still went with her. But lying is a problem and as we all too often see it makes problems worse.
So, here we are with Gov. Haley and her staunch denial and pledge that she will resign if its proven she was unfaithful to her husband. My first hope is the dirtbag guy is lying. If not, its regrettable Gov. Haley didn’t handle this differently.
