Rush Limbaugh Mocks 6 Minute Video Defending New York Times Writers’ Strike Over Pension Cut

“Welcome to the real world, New York Times reporters!”

Those were the words that famed radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh leveled against the staff at the New York Times over a video where they bemoan cuts in their staff pensions, in a video released by the Daily Rushbo. “They think they’re going to get our sympathy!” Limbaugh crows. “The New York Times rips Scott Walker for making these changes while the New York Times institutes these very same changes.”

The video Limbaugh is responding to was released as part of contract negotiations between the unionized journalists who work for the New York Times and their publisher, Arthur Sulzberger. The video is below, followed by commentary from the New York Post:

The nearly six-minute video comes as representatives of the Times and the Guild are slated to meet today in a bid to try and make some progress in the talks.

The unionized reporters and editors at the Times have been without a contract for more than a year.

The Times, after initially demanding a three-year wage freeze, is now offering a one-year freeze and 1 percent pay hikes in years two and three.

UPDATE: Limbaugh doubled down on these sentiments further on in his show, delivering a monologue arguing that the reports should strike so the Times will fail. The Daily Rushbo has cut out the most forceful part:

RUSH: No, no, no.  Follow me, Snerdley.  There’s part… (interruption) Yes, yes! Let the union hold tight; have the Times go out of business.  That might be one of the best things that ever happened to country.  Stop and think about that.  The US would be a better place without the New York Times.  If these writers and all these people you hear in this video, if they get their way, if they don’t buck, they don’t buckle and force the New York Times into bankruptcy? Well, I asked the other day: Can you imagine what a different country we would be if we had a media that actually was as the Founding Fathers envisioned it?

The full segment, cut out to form a video, can be heard here:

Get over it boys and girls at the NYT. This is just the beginning of obama’s socialist paradise. I worked at GE, and my job went to China. You writers need to adapt. as do all the overpaid workers in our society, including government workers.

The NYTimes should be charged with environmental excursion charges anyway. How many trees are killed in a day to spread their paper around when you can get real news from Fox on the internet?

Could not happen to a Far Left, anti American rag more worthy of trouble. Nothing like a little of that “ social justice” for the Red Lady who carries water for the Obama administration and has nothing good to say about conservatives or America.

NYT Blind guides to the blind. Everyone ends up in a ditch or off the cliff. Biblical truth can not be grasped by the lost and dying world. They might change if they only could meet Jesus. But most sleep in on Sundays to make up for their late nights of living for this world, and BHO their king.

When God said your righteous is like dirty rags…yes…dirty snot, vomit covered, puss and crusty scab covered rags…and most NYT reporters feel at home in their choice garment. How repulsive.

This is just the beginning. Newspapers are hanging by a thread for two reasons: 1) The Internet and 2) Liberal slant. Their business model seems to be to alienate half their potential audience. Just report the news, do investigative journalism on democrats like you do republicans and watch your world turn around.

Hey lefty they are all broke and cutting cost too, your medium is dying and you don’t get to dictate what is news anymore. So enjoy the obama economy and reap what you have sewn.

      with a pension, $56,000…none $15,000…
welcome to the real world folks.
my m.i.l, gets a $1,800 a month pension, plus medicare $, and full medical the rest of her life..she reitred at 55, she’s now 83…she has lived longer on union pension than she worked for that company.. she took early retirement at 25 years of service…last year was the first time she did not get a cost of living raise in 28 years of retirement.
when unions are no longer of service to obama…he will , yes he will..close their doors and retirements plans will fall by the wayside..and the insurance plans

If the NYT goes away do they really think anyone would hire newspaper guys to do anything at those salaries. Shut your hole and cash the biggest checks you are EVER gonna get in your life.
Newspaper guys making demands is hilarious. Maybe they can get some advice from the old buggy whip union guys down at the SS office.

Then when the NYT sells for $1, Murdoch can buy it and replace ALL of you!

Not true. NYT, save yourself some grief. Gve the unions whatever they want.

When NYT failes, BHO will deem it too big to fail (or some excuse) and bail them out. We already know they’re the “state controlled media.” Failure will just seal the deal and make it official. Why pretend to fight it?
