Rush Limbaugh: ‘The US Would Be a Better Place Without the New York Times’

Rush Limbaugh just doesn’t want to lay off the New York Times. First, he savaged this video by the New York Times editorial and reporting staff complaining about their potential loss of pensions:

With this clip from his show:

And now, fresh from that segment, Limbaugh has decided to dig in his heels and point out that, while their grievances are unrealistic, it might be good for America if the staff went on strike and refused to print information. Why? Because it would mean the end of the New York Times, and would demonstrate just what the results of support for liberal policies are – namely, bankruptcy. The Daily Rushbo has cut out the most searing part of the monologue, reproduced below:

RUSH: No, no, no.  Follow me, Snerdley.  There’s part… (interruption) Yes, yes! Let the union hold tight; have the Times go out of business.  That might be one of the best things that ever happened to country.  Stop and think about that.  The US would be a better place without the New York Times.  If these writers and all these people you hear in this video, if they get their way, if they don’t buck, they don’t buckle and force the New York Times into bankruptcy? Well, I asked the other day: Can you imagine what a different country we would be if we had a media that actually was as the Founding Fathers envisioned it?

The full segment, cut out to form a video, can be heard here:

The US would be a better place is more conservatives with the cash reserves could buy out the NYT, ABC, NBC and CBS and start airing fair and truthful news without agenda’s, let people actually know the facts and the truth and let them make informed and educated decisions.

      —————————————————————————————————————————————
Rush is not media, he is entertainment as he has often said. The sad part is because the main stream media has become “Pravda”, Rush has become media as he reports the “news”. The founding fathers did not envision the media as becoming the talking parrots of the government as is the current situation. This is why Obama wants to redo the first admendment and would like to get rid of the internet (the media you and I use to find out the real news). No we are not that stupid, but I see you still don’t use your real name so either you are that stupid or is this George, yet again?

Rush Limbaugh is much closer to what the Founding Fathers had than the NYT.

You want me to like the NYT that bashes the Republicans without end? The NYT is in the tank for the Democrats & supports them after all the times they propose sh_t that is not actuarially feasible.

If Rush Limbaugh were gone there would be another 60 or 70 talk show hosts you would want to censor, put in a re-education camp or worse.

Face it, you just don’t like conservative, Republican voters & many libertarians.

You can disagree with people, and that’s perfectly fine. Argue and debate. That’s what life is all about. But, when your argument is simply “you’re stupid”, you get anger from some and respect from no one. You can’t help yourself, I know, because your a liberal and you guys are very limited in your abilities. Now, get out of here…you’re an idiot.

dblaess says, “This is why Obama wants to redo the first admendment and would like to get rid of the internet…” dblaess, where did you get the idea that President Obama “would like to get rid of the internet”? Could you provide a quote or link? That’s schizophrenic nonsense as far as I can tell.

Walkabout, I suppose you also believe that the President “would like to get rid of the internet”? Beware the company you keep!

Okay, so you say that the NYT, “bashes the Republicans without end?” Walkabout, are you able to take advantage of the internets? You say the NYT, “bashes the Republicans without end.” So you wouldn’t have a problem posting “without end” links to the NYT “bashing Republicans” would you?

But, rather than call you out as a liar, I’ll simply ask you for one NTY article “bashing Republicans.” Not an huge list as you claim is the basis for your opinion. Just one. Just one NYT straight news article that “bashes Republicans.” You have have access to the Google don’t you? So, let’s see it. I’m calling you a liar. Prove me wrong.

I had an article & it didn’t post.

First the editorial board of the NYT is heavily slanted. The NYT is/was a national newspaper. It has a token Republican commenter. It says that it takes predominantly letters to the editor from liberals because that is what gets sent in (they say). The Republicans a liberals posing as Republicans. For a national paper they can choose to pretend that letter from the editor come form more than just Manhattan or the NE corridor. Moot point now because they are doomed.

I once had a subscription to the NYT. Was that ever a mistake.

I do agree that debate and freedom of speech are great. The free market system is also great, and that’s why the New York Times is going down the tubes. Rush was absolutely right when he pointed out that these reporters have been pushing the very agenda that’s now biting them in the rear end.
