Rush Rails Against Gingrich‘s ’Inexplicable‘ and ’Mind-Boggling’ Obamacare Comments

Don‘t ask Rush Limbaugh to support Newt Gingrich’s comments over the last 24 hours. He won’t.
On radio today, Limbaugh characterized Gingrich‘s support for a variation of Obama’s individual insurance mandate yesterday as “inexplicable” and “mind-boggling.” The top conservative radio host refused to defend Gingrich’s comments, and even was visibly annoyed while describing Gingrich’s position. Here’s part of what he said (via Mediaite):
“I am not going to justify this. I am not going to explain it. The attack on Paul Ryan, the support for an individual mandate in health care? Folks, don’t ask me to explain this. There is no explanation! What do you mean, if I don’t explain it, who will? There is no explanation for it. First off, it cuts Paul Ryan off at the knees. It supports the Obama administration in the lawsuits that 26 states have filed over the mandate. I guess, what? Back in 1993, Newt supported an individual mandate, everybody should buy insurance. I am as befuddled as anyone else is what I’m telling you.”
Watch below:
You can also listen to more of Rush‘s thoughts on Gingrich’s comments below (including his hypothesis that Gingrich is trying to carve out a “niche”), in two parts via DailyRusbo:
It should be noted that Gingrich has since come out and said he doesn’t support the Obamacare mandate “period.”

Posted on May 16, 2011 at 3:54pmWhen I hear “Newt,“ I hear ”establishment.” I don‘t want establishment and I don’t want Newt. I wasn’t too thrilled with some of Mr. Cain’s non-answers in the last debate, but he is head and shoulders above the rest of the losers running on the GOP side. As of right now I’m firmly behind Mr. Cain.
In my estimation this is, one of, if not the most pivotal elections in the history of the Union and the options right now really give me a sad and hopeless feeling. This country desperately needs a conservative leader and we’ve got Mr. Cain and bunch of garbage thus far.

Posted on May 16, 2011 at 3:53pmYeah, he also said that his guess about these establishment types like him is that they really don‘t believe we’re in as dire straits as the Tea Party types (& others) do. They think it’s all unduly exaggerated. They just think it’s like the past “cycles” when the Dems are in control and all they have to do is get in charge of the money – no worries – it’ll all be fine like always. Like it’s always been “fine”!? That‘s why we’re in the mess we’re in now. No, it wasn’t fine. He’s one of the “old let’s get along“ moderate Repub establishment” types. I really like a lot of other things he says — great intellect and expert on our history, constitution but he’s not what we need now. We ARE in dire straits and at a dangerous tipping point – either we go all Socialist/Marxist or go back to our constitutional, capitalistic America the Founders wanted. So no….he doesn’t get my vote.

Posted on May 16, 2011 at 3:48pmI believe all Americans will agree that the USA desperately needs Health Care Reform in order to meet the medical needs of all Americans. Obamacare certainly isn’t the answer, it has already caused unprecedented increases in premiums while cutting coverage in several areas. Non insured and under insured expenses will continue to be placed on the insured. The medical profession itself is what needs a complete overall to drive prices down where both medical care and insurance are affordable for all. Looks like things are going to get a lot worse before they get better, if ever.

He is quite intelligent but I just dont trust him or anyone at this point. Each potential GOP candidate has skeletons in their closet. A Website has done a huge expose on Chris Christi, I found an article today about Bachman and her earmarks, then you have Ron Paul who is way far right farther than where the Founding Fathers est this nation(imo a small jump from anarchy) not to mention he too has done some odd moves in TX per Glenns radio sidekick Pat Gray and the list goes on.

To argue that it makes sense to have for profit insurance companies, for profit drug companies, for profit medical equipment companies peel off exceptional profits which limit the money available for actual care is ignorant at best. Insurance companies like Medicare because it covers a group they would could not insure adequately and still make a “adequate” profit. US physicians make at least twice what physicians make in the next highest income country. Nixon proposed national healthcare in 1972 and it is long overdue. The system will collapse on its own wait, while 10s of millions of people don’t have equal access to care. The conservative Republican talking points on healthcare are laughable.
