Rush Reacts to Gingrich Story: Unlike Clinton, At Least He Had ‘Politeness’ to Ask Permission

On radio Thursday, Rush Limbaugh reacted to the story of Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife Marianne accusing Newt of wanting an “open marriage”. And in classic Rush fashion, he went on an over-the-top rant dripping with sarcasm and taking shots at the Democrats, the media,  and even Bill Clinton.

“I think the Democrats may have to give Newt a second look here,” Rush said, he “got along with Clinton pretty well.”

He went on to say that unlike Bill Clinton — who had his own problems with marital cheating — at least Gingrich “had the politeness to ask permission for it.”

“You think Bill ever did that?” he asked. “Now we know, if Newt can hold to enough of the Republican base, he might take 20 percent of the Democrat vote with this. You know how this stuff is a resume enhancement in the Democrat party.”

He went on to quote a letter from a friend who called it a “BFD” — an acronym for “Big Fu**ing Deal.” Listen to the entire rant below courtesy of DailyRushbo, which also includes his explanation of why he laughed when he heard ABC was in a conundrum about when to release the interview (an a theory on how the news media may have been planning to sabotage the primary process):

      In the Newt arrogance department, there was a revealing article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday. As a newly-hired Associate Professor of Western Georgia College (around 1973), Newt applied to become the President of the College. The next year, he applied to be the Chairman of the History Department. I laughed reading the article. Also, the picture of Newt back then was great — it reminded me of Dwight Schrupe in “The Office”

    Rush, your all about American values and defending people like Tebow for their Christian values and positions, but when it come to womanizing and being a player, now theres where the rubber meets the road for you, right, Rush? Rush is right! .. .my ex never asked permission .. he was in an “open” marriage before I knew … and continued in his second .. doubt he asked her permission either .. but when his “girlfriend” got pregnant … I guess she knew then for certain.       I am surprised that all the people who keep up on things didn’t already know that Newt left his former wife on very bad terms. It was a long time ago and I remember that Reagan left his wife too. Jane Wyman was not happy about Reagan either. We all agree that divorces are hard on everyone involved but they are a part of life for most people these days.

      Bill Clinton raped a woman, used his power to force sex upon another woman, lied to a federal judge over it, and made a game out of getting a BJ from under his desk while in the Oval office. Does anyone get my drift?

      hmmm…morals… Let‘s take a brief look at the D’s stand for the killing of the unborn, driving God from the schools and the public square (all in the interest of equality for all religions with the only true winner being atheism), the ruination of the educations system, participation trophies, gay marriage, forcing schools in CA to now teach beastiality as an acceptable life style, crippling the public with entitlements, the corruption within elections….

      I could go on for ever itemizing the moral screwing the left has forced onto American society…the media is actually winking at each other for Newt for that is a lifestyle the left would embrace…and never forget Newt is actually a Progressive which is, in fact…Communist.

    Interesting choice of words. “Asking permission” apparently means “allow an open marriage or I leave you for the woman I’ve been cheating on you with for years”?

    Completely agree with the “BFD” comment though. Gingrich was never running as a strong moral candidate.

      BFD, we have already heard this before. An open marriage is one thing, and as the ex said, at least he asked, Slick Willie was all about forcing himself on other women. It takes two to tangle continuously, and there isn’t a single guy out there that will pursue another woman if his marriage is in good condition, no need. Evidently there was a problem in the marriage to begin with, and it does happen. If the two of them were talking as much and as often as she said they did, there is a disconnect that he would be cheating at the same time, it just doesn’t happen.

      The great thing about Christianity and Catholicism is, you can repend for your sins, it is what you do afterwards that counts.

      Time to move on, nothing new here.

It’s his Contract With America, he was advocating the sancitiy of marraige, the unity of family, the morality of the 10 commandments while he was bonking his aide and cheating on his wife in her bed.       He wants Romney to release his tax records but doesn’t want people to know how much he stole from the taxpayer as a “consultant”.

    I prefer to hear what Newt has to say about what the ex has charged. The GOP elite, MSM and the Democrats want Romney as the nominee and will lie, cheat or steal to make that come to pass.

    How can one say moral character doesn’t matter for the office of presidency? If character doesn’t matter then what does? And don’t say you can be a good leader and immoral, why was George Washington a good leader? People trusted him. I cant trust Newt

      I don’t trust the media, i have been researching candidates for months now and i have listened to what Newt has said and recently said i might add. The guy is a Huge progressive, progressives have killed this country. I am not Romney supporter, but he is miles ahead of Newt in my opinion. I trust Romney with the key to the office, i have some concerns but at the end of the day i can feel okay with it. I could never feel good about Gingrich in office unless it came down to him and the disgrace in office now

      13th. It honestly doesn’t matter what the truth is here. The fix is in on a Romney VS Obama election. Probably has been since the day Obama was elected. This is just the powers that be manipulating their desired outcome. I really think this whole primary is a dog and pony show to let the peasants think they’re still in charge.

      That puts me (tho I have not supported Anyone) squarely into the Progressive camp at worst, the Neocon Camp at best, just because I am not a Johnny come lately Purist. If there was as much vitreol aimed at the DEMOCRATS as there is against Impure Republicans(All long time Republicans) we just might get to go toward the Purists Utopia.

      Every time the LSM puts out an accusation against Any R, The Purists herd stampedes with that accusation. Then the next LSM snippet emerges and the same Purist herd scrams the other way. No R candidate have been left out of this Rumor Mill Assassination Squad plan devised by the DEMOCRATS and their LSM MOUTHPIECES. Then used by our dolts as if everything is true.     Rush is awesome. In this case he also couldn’t be more correct. To this day Bill Clinton is portrayed as a saint to the left. I actually don’t think he was a bad President altogether, he was a dirt bag as a person. His wife was upstairs, that’s pretty messed up. It’s like the whole Clinton surplus myth.       Clinton at least knew when he was beaten, and went along with the republicans on a lot of things. Of course he took credit for the republican ideas, and used the good economy those republican ideas lead to, which got him reelected which was a bad thing.
