Ruthless: Dem Campaign Attack Ad Links Opponent to Child Molestation

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is pulling out all the stops to try and maintain the party’s majority, including what may be one of the most brutal campaign ads of the 2010 election cycle.

In a campaign attack ad aimed at Jeff Perry, the GOP candidate hoping to fill Democratic Rep. Bill Delahunt‘s seat in Massachusetts’ 10th Congressional District, the DCCC links Perry to a fellow former police officer who conducted illegal strip searches of female teenage suspects in the mid-1990s. Perry was the supervising officer on Wareham police force when a subordinate officer committed the crime.

“Imagine your teenage daughter illegally strip-searched by police,” the ad says, showing an image of a young girl.

Perry is running against Democrat Bill Keating, who recently raised the issue during a live debate:

[B]oth of the victims said you personally failed to protect them. One of them said you covered it up. The other said you stood five feet away and did nothing. If you can’t protect two teenage girls, how can you protect the interests of this District in Congress?

In response, the Perry campaign released an ad Thursday featuring Perry’s former boss who calls Perry “a good cop” and scolds Keating for the ad.  “Bill Keating ought to be ashamed of himself.  His attacks against Jeff Perry go way over the line.”

In addition, Perry personally criticized Keating’s “negative campaign.”

These are the same dirty tactics that were used against Scott Brown but which backfired. People are waking up to the fact that Bill Keating will be another rubber stamp for Washington’s big spending agenda, with more debt and higher taxes. He supported last year‘s failed stimulus program and President Obama’s disastrous healthcare plan. I plan to go to Washington to set a new course for America.”

Derek I am a life long resident of Massachusetts, at times I have been ashamed of admitting to that. However let me give you a little heads up from a Homer Simpson on the ground. I’m not sure where the turning point was her in the commonwealth but something has changed. Deval Patrick has proven himself to be great friends with Obama and has made MA the testing grounds of there progressive policies. The voters and common folks (Homer Simpsons as ref to by the WH), have been boonked over the head to many times and there is swell of the Tea Party here in MA. They are feed up with politics as usual, demanding more from poiticians and you all could be very surprised when this state goes Purple in NOV. It isnt easy as you suggested we are fighting organized labor and several progressive orgs in order to take back our Commonwealth that they seemed to Hijack while we were all sleeping. But it appears that the conservative repubs/moderate dems have teamed up and said enough is enough, there are some serious tight races going on, where in the past no one even ran against the establishment. Nov will be interesting in MA, all I can say is stay tuned. I dont predict that Repubs will take the statehouse but, we will probally elect a R-Govenor, Charlie Baker, and replace some of our established DC boys with some “Scott Browns”. Stay Tuned and say a pray for us to be the Davids against our Goliaths (organized labor/progressive grps).

I think that, simply put, Progressives have lost their collective minds…they live in a hate-filled universe where there are no limits on their behavior but anyone who opposes them is constrained to live an almost monastic life, and any deviation from ‘perfection’ is cause to declare the opponent a hypocrite or worse.

Progressives have stolen and destroyed the traditional Democratic Party, turned it into an instrument of destruction…they’ve been chipping-away at our constitutional republic for half-a-century and now that they hold political power have mounted an all-out assault on all of our institutions and on us…this sad incident is just another in the near-endless stream of outrages by Progressives. We must turn them out of office…out of every office they hold…we must turn them out of the merit civil service…we must turn them out of academia, including removing every single one of them from our public schools.

These creatures are vile enemies of our nation, our culture and our American traditions…send them home on Nov. 2, and then where appropriate, send them to prison for their crimes against America.

Bill Keating (D) is a carpetbagger who moved into the district (MA04) to run when Delahunt decided the fire was getting too hot and retired. Keating is currently a DA and took campaign contributions from defense lawyers with cases against him. He stood for tax hikes and spending when he was in the state legislature, supports Obama’s agenda and is a despicable human being. Hanging another man’s sins around the neck of Perry instead of trying to debate the issues? Desperate!

I love what you said about “hanging the sins of ANOTHER man” around Perry’s neck! That’s exactly what carpetbagger Keating is trying to do! Hopefully he’ll suffer the same fate as muckraker Malone and be soundly defeated!

Well, hell, if these allegations were true, they should welcome him with open arms considering the FELONS on the left AND Fairy Frank and his faggy prostitution ring. Good Lord, the left has had Grand Cyclops from the KKK, a man who drive off a bridge and left a woman to die, tax cheats, ethics violations galore, sex scandals… the list goes on and on. Now they make up stories and tout them about as if they’re the bastions of morality!

ENOUGH!!!!! All the ads I‘ve seen are simply attack ads on a candidate’s opponents, with no mention of what the candidate actually thinks he or she can ACCOMPLISH while in office. I think every Republican, Democrat, Libertarian and any other group should speak up and get these attack ads dropped. If the people running are this incompetent and unimaginative, they should not be elected. We already have a House and Senate full of mindless idiots, we certainly don’t need to elect any more.

What have the Socialist Democrats have to run on? Socialism? Obama’s failed economic policies? Not one of his advisors ever produced a job and they have single handedly led our nation toward the cliff with the pedal to the medal in good ole “D”. Hit the brakes and put it in “R” before it is too late for America.

I think in some Massechusetts circles, crimes against young girls aren‘t as ’frowned upon’ as they might be elsewhere. I think they even had a senator once who drove a girl off a bridge into the water and left her there to die. As for this case? I just don’t have enough information.

This ad is scummy for a lot of reasons and unfortunately it may work. People will research it to see if it’s true and a good percentage will recognize a few key words from the ad and assume it is true. And, the girl in the ad looks way younger than a teenager. It’s still a crime to do what the officer did but putting such a young child in the ad only serves to up the emotional ante. I‘m guessing that’s what was intended by its creators.

There is no truth to anything in the ad. Jeff Perry was never linked to the crime in any way. He was never prosecuted, or charged, or part of either case other than to be the supervisor (at the age of 23) of the slime ball cop who WAS found guilty and sent to jail. To sensationalize this ad by showing a picture of a young girl (who I’m assuming has no connection to the case) is unconscionable! Mr. Perry will never step into the gutter with Mr. Keating, his opponent, and for that I am thankful! Enough is enough!
