S.E. Cupp: ‘Ann Romney Is Lying’ About the Romney Camp Looking at Women for VP

Cupp MSNBC Ann Romney

The Blaze’s S.E. Cupp said Friday that Ann Romney was “lying” when she said Mitt Romney’s campaign is considering choosing a woman to run beside him on the Republican ticket.

“Just to clear up the woman thing, Ann Romney is lying,“ Cupp told her ”The Cycle” co-hosts on MSNBC. “They are not looking at women, they are not going to pick a woman candidate, there’s just no way.

Ann Romney stirred speculation this week when she said during an interview with CBS News that her husband has “been looking at” the possibility of choosing a woman to fill the No. 2 spot. Ann Romney made the comments while she and her husband were on their way to meet with New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, a Romney backer.

On Friday, Cupp was having none of it.

“She’s lying, I mean they’re not — she’s not lying,” she amended. “They’re not looking at a woman candidate, they’re just not going to go with a woman….it’s a good fib.”

I don’t have an issue with someone being called a liar, if they are and you can prove it, but why does it never happen the other way around? When Megyn Kelly was talking about the fact that the Obama administration was making claims about ‘never calling ObamaCare a tax’, she said “Is the administration telling the whole truth?”

Even with a pile of direct, officially transcribed quotes and videos to prove that they were bold-faced liars, they still get softballed with “not telling the whole truth”.

Ann Romney, however, is a ‘liar’ based on personal opinion. Maybe she’s just being consistent, maybe S.E. has called out the president and other Dems as being flat-out liars in the past. I don’t watch her enough to know.

      What a wonderful idea, a Romney/Clinton ticket! It’s a sure winner!
Oh yes, I forgot, Romneys a republican progressive and Clintons a democrat progressive so this can’t possibly happen. Silly me!

Well, I imagine that he has discussed having a woman run with him, but I do hope that it goes no further than that. The only female I see who I could be happy with, would be Condolesa Rice and she says that she won’t run. Despite that, who would strengthen Romney’s ticket. At present Romney appears much like McCain. He just doesn’t inspire confidence. He also appears to be out-of-touch with the grassroots conservatives. Romney needs to find someone who is a great speaker, someone who is dynamic, well-spoken, and very, very conservative. It wouldn’t hurt if he also had charisma (not, NOT Chris Christy!). Has anyone recently listened to the speeches of our leaders in the ’60s? We now have muted – uninspiring drivel coming from all sides — and the media (Fox included) doesn’t help one little bit.

HISTORYGUY — it started much earlier than Octavian. He was following a path set by Sulla, then by his uncle with Pompey Magnus and Crassus, then by Julius Caesar alone, then finally Octavian. Sulla and Caesar (to a lesser extent), however, made no pretenses about who they were or what they were doing. Only Octavian tried to keep the lie called the Republic going. But truth was, the Republic had been dead for 50 years before Octavian became First Citizen. And the citizens of Rome accepted the lie, the illusion of the Republic continuing for at least another 200 years.

I wonder how long we would accept such illusions.

The point is that S.E. Cupp couldn’t possibly know what Ann Romney knows, has witnessed, or has been told by the campaign. S.E. Cupp couldn’t be telling the truth, unless the Romney camp is stupid enough to trust her, which wouldn’t make any sense, whatsoever. If they won’t trust Glenn Beck himself, they certainly won’t trust S.E. Cupp.

Unless Cupp backs up her class-less accusation with EVIDENCE, then any thinking American must logically conclude that S.E. Cupp IS A LIAR!

She’s kind of attacked mine as an agnostic (well lack of any religion), but I think it’s just flawed logic more than anything else. Your statement is every bit as bigoted as “Being Jewish, Mormon, Christian, etc. bothers me”. I really wish I could convince some of the Blaze crowd that not all non believers are evil people. I‘d actually argue most aren’t. There are things I dislike about S.E.’s views, like she‘s a ditzy little girl who doesn’t understand the ramifications of murdering innocent people 6000 miles away and how it destroys the lives of some of the people that have had to do it. But, if this is how you think, don’t bitch when an athiests makes you take the 10 commandments out of your court house, schools, or whatever, because you’re not better than them.

What is this, “beat up on S E Cupp day?” I’m not so sure that “lie” is the correct term, but certainly Ann Romney is trying to add some spices to the already bland stew of her husband’s making. It’s pretty bad when the sad condition this country is in, that the whole campaign has turned on whom the VP candidate will be. From my prospective, whomever it would be can’t outshine the new president or the presidency will be affected, yet if he/she be another milquetoast the administration will be doomed from the start. So, SE Cupp: keep it up, someone needs to add some life to the campaign.

One candidate comes in with the white sparkly smile, beautifully groomed, great clothes, is all pumped up, has all the right answers, and once he‘s hired you find out he’s useless and is bankrupting your company and you can’t get rid of him for 4 years, America that is our POTUS. Mitt Romney hasn’t even official started his campaign, so let‘s give him a chance before we HOPE he’ll CHANGE .

…..and S.E. Cupp was lying when she said she wouldn’t vote for an atheist. Oh and it’s pronounced “cup” not “Koop”……

Ms Cupp is playing to her audience unfortunately…For her to keep getting invited back to that piece of trash network, she has to say what they want to hear…..Its the same thing with Ben Stein….He is his normal self when on Fox News but when he appears on CNN you would never know its the same person, the crazy stuff he says…..Thats how it works when money is involved.

S.E.Cupp? Who? Hey Glen, the old saying. “A Chain Is Only As Good/Strong As It’s Weakest Lenk” seems to take hold here. I also am not renewing my subscription to GBTV due a few you have like her. Sorry, because I personally think that you are on the right tack about the progressives who want to ruin the USA.

I think S E being on msnbc is bringing out the left in her but it’s ok, I’m done with the Republican party anyways after Nov. S E attacking what Anne said, not knowing what Anne is thinking or not thinking is one of the gop’s problem. The demorats stick together even thru the lies and the gop eat their own puppies.

Shame on you SE…you don’t know that she is lying. All Ann indicated was that they were considering it. They could talk around the dinner table about it for all you know and that would be considering it. You come off as the typical know it all sensationalistic journalist with your calling someone a liar. I’m surprised Glenn allowed you to get away with that. If your staff starts this kind of name calling crap, then I’m done with the blaze and Glenn. SE could have just said I doubt it without calling Mrs Romney a liar.

Ditto. I really like S.E., but that is outright sensationalism for sensationalism’s sake. I thought she was above that, but apparently not.

As soon as I heard that Ann Romney said that Romney was “considering” a female Veep, I knew it would be taken by THE LEFT to mean that he was going to choose a female. Thought they would be called out on it immediately, but it seems that it makes a good sound bite and everyone’s falling for it — including Cupp. “Considering” is vastly different from “choosing” or even “preferring.”

Firefox has an addon called dnt+. The purpose of this addon is to block companies that track you on the internet. I found it funny that this site tracks me more than any other site I have been to since installing this addon. I seems the more time I spend on this site, the more I dislike Beck.

And how would S.E.Cupp know all? Does she work for the Romney campaign? Howe can she call someone a liar when she’s not on campaign staff.? What’s up S.E., looking to make nice, nice with the MSNBC crowd, so you thought you’d throw them a bone.

Agreed. Cupp runneth over. What has she ever done or said, with GB or MSNBC or anywhere else, that makes her opinion much more than standard conservative cocktail with a twist of “Oh, and BTW I’m an atheist, doesn’t that make me interesting?”

that wasn’t what she first said… she said “LIER” then softballed it with “fibber ” it all means the same thing.. thats what the Liberals do..They manipulate the english language to mean what “they” want it to mean…. 1+1 still eguals 2 and fib still means lying… so softballing it and making it sound “nicer” still makes SE no better than the mainstream… she was implying not resporting
