SAN FRANCISCO (The Blaze/AP) — A San Francisco trial judge says she intends to strike a ban on male circumcision from the city’s November ballot.
Superior Court Judge Loretta Giorgi said in a tentative ruling Wednesday that the proposed law prohibiting circumcision of male children violates a California law that makes regulating medical procedures a function of the state, not cities.
Giorgi ordered San Francisco’s elections director to remove the controversial measure from the ballot to be considered by city voters.
The San Francisco city attorney’s office says Giorgi plans to hear arguments on the issue Thursday before making her ruling final.
The ban’s sponsor, anti-circumcision activist Lloyd Schofield, did not immediately respond to a telephone call and email from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Posted on July 28, 2011 at 7:41amAccording to the article I cite below, the man behind the ban, Lloyd Schofield, is likely a ****, which tells us all we need to know about the ban:
“So who is Schofield? He won‘t say much other than that he’s a 58-year-old who used to work for a ‘major hotel chain.’ He lives with his partner near Buena Vista Park, and they have no children.”

Posted on July 28, 2011 at 10:17amHow dare they artifically [from the bench] ensure this barbaric practice-a violation of peoples’ freedom -continue to be propped up without challenges and recourse by the people!.Of course if only muslims practiced this forced mutiliation of a child it would have already been banned never mind by the people[ballot].Typical double standard!

Posted on July 28, 2011 at 6:37amToo bad. It is an elective surgery done on babies. It is extremely painful and no different than slicing off large portions of skin from the fingers. The United States can thank Hitler for this becoming common place here. Because of something the Nazis did long before many of us were born, Jewish doctors performed it on all new born babies in order to hide people of the Jewish faith in case any Nazi round ups came to our shores. The United States didn’t become Jew-hunting fascists and the threat to Jewish people now is far from being Christians and free nations. This truly is an outdated practice that should be ended. Now we have several generations of people who were born generations after this practice began and babies are being put under the knife for no reason other than to make the acceptable and “part of the crowd.”

Posted on July 28, 2011 at 7:04amWhy shouldn’t it be left up to the choice of the parents? I mean you can’t have it both ways, some say a baby is just tissue and have no problems with abortions, and some say it‘s the woman’s right to choose, but yet when it comes to faith ot the choice to have religious things done, all of a sudden, the “Right To Chose Thing” becomes Mute?
So are you saying only Liberals should have rights? I’m not trying to demean you, just pointing out the Choice issue

Posted on July 28, 2011 at 10:23amUnnecessary, maybe, but it sure solves a lot of problems that develop down the line that cost a lot of wasted resources to fix. I‘ve had several friends that had parents that didn’t want this done, and got multiple infections while growing up that had them missing school, walking funny, and being made fun of by other kids. I have known several 12-25 year olds that have gotten internal infections that doctors told them would never be cured until they had this surgery, at that age it’s not a quick snip and a little plastic cap, it’s a full blown surgery with days of painful recovery.

Posted on July 28, 2011 at 2:37pmWhat kind of crack-head are you? Nothing you said is true or even makes any sense. Apart from the procedure being painful, but they have ANESTHESIA for that. Vitamin K shots are painful too, yet mandatory for all babies in the US. Also there are health reasons for doing it, which is why now, not only Jewish people do it. Not some wack Jewish-doctor conspiracy as you seem to think.

The left/liberal/progressive/ dim-o-crats/ socialist, marxist and communist are scraping the bottom of the barrel coming up with these “INSANE” CHILDISH attacks. Desperation causes one to do a veritable plethora of idiotic, low class and 3rd grade type ideas.

When a post is rejected by THE BLAZE, it would be helpful if THE BLAZE would let the commentator know why the post was rejected so the commentator won’t repeat the same mistake again.
Thanks
