On the Laura Ingraham show today, Rick Santorum backpedaled on his previous comments claiming that John F. Kennedy’s famous speech on separation of church and state made him almost “want to throw up.”
In response to a question from Ingraham pointing out that Kennedy is a revered figure, and that it’s generally not seen as Presidential to talk about throwing up at all, Santorum laughed and said, “I would agree with that, and you know, I wish I had that particular line back.”
The exchange occurs at about 9:30 of the following video:

Posted on February 28, 2012 at 7:31pmI support Santorum all the way, but that was a weird thing to say. Anyone with any common sense knows that JFK was a womanizing dirt bag, just like Clinton is.
Maybe if JFK was a practicing Catholic he would have found the strength to keep from cheating on his wife time and time again. He is burning in Hell now, right where he belongs.

Posted on February 28, 2012 at 7:24pmRick has said some pretty crazy stuff if you look at them in the closed context of the comment, but if you look at what he was trying to say it makes perfect sense. JFK said that there is an absolute wall between church and state which is just wrong. To say that religious views should be kept out of the public debate is not what the founders had in mind when the First Amendment was written.; for example Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement, slavery was opposed by the churches, and a driving force of the revolution and the founders was the desire of a freedom of religion.

While I am certain that I don‘t know what JZS’ reasons were for quoting the KKK’s anti-papist sentiment last expressed when JFK ran for President, BUT I really wish someone, SOMEWHERE would point out the absolute HYPOCRISY of Santorum who fell in with the very same group who would have said what JZS just said back when JFK was running. Why would the Roman Catholic Santorum join political forces with the formerly anti-papist, conservative, Christian Right?
BECAUSE Santorum got the boost he needed in Iowa by visiting EVERY single county in that state and spinning himself as the Anyone-But-Romney to the anti-mormons! So, JZS, how about we refresh your quote for the new millenium:
If [Romney] is elected, he’ll be getting his marching orders from the [Prophet]. The US will become a [Mormon] dictatorship.
Sorry JZS, no tears for Santorum here.

They are only human, and if you had to make as many trips, speeches, take as much stress as these guys — I‘m sure you’d make a few mistakes and say things you regretted later. I don’t know how any of them do it. Re Santorum – I understand what he meant – and it was just not wise to say those words but he did. So what. Romney does that too and of course Newt. As for Santorum – I agree with Rush Limbaugh:
“If the Democrats help Santorum get the nomination, and then he beats Obama ’cause I think HE WOULD… I think any of these guys is gonna beat Obama, folks. Any of them is going to beat Obama. If they help Santorum get the nomination, he beats Obama, what will Carville and the other Democrats say then as they’re jumping off the nearest bridge?…”

NONE of the news guys on either side have asked him where or when he will get treatment for his anger issues. Every time he talks, every debate, every interview he is blowing up and almost screaming about something. Rick Santantrum is NOT mentally capable of being any kind of a diplomat or mediator or president. His anger non-management issues run deeeeeep. The guy is a total hothead. DO NOT VOTE FOR SANTORUM! His wife won’t vote him, why should you? If you think I am wrong go back and try to find a picture where she looks happy. Santantrums wife probably gets beat if she does not fall in line.

http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/jfkhoustonministers.html
“…..Ingraham pointing out that Kennedy is a revered figure….”
Yeah, well,he was also horn dogging women every chance he got, which is well known. You bet he wanted absolute separation of church and state. What he was doing while a head of state was against everything the Catholic Church teaches. He was no example of honor and leadership behind the scenes, when his wife wasn’t around.
“First spotting Alford in the White House pool, Kennedy instructed Powers to invite her to a party that evening. After Alford had drank a number of daiquiris, Kennedy gave her a “tour” of the White House, where he took her virginity in first lady Jackie Kennedy’s bedroom.”
http://news.yahoo.com/explosive-book-jfk-dark-affair-19-old-wh-213618770.html
I suppose Bill Clinton will go down in history as a ‘revered’ figure too.
At least with Santorum, what you see is what you get.He wears his convictions and values on his sleeve. He’s not a con-man.
“Some day, in years to come, you will be wrestling with the great temptation, or trembling under the great sorrow of your life. But the real struggle is here, now, in these quiet weeks. Now it is being decided whether, in the day of your supreme sorrow or temptation, you shall miserably fail or gloriously conquer. Character cannot be made except by a steady, long-continued process.”

Posted on February 28, 2012 at 6:39pmI like Santorum and most of his views, but I don’t see him going far enough to truly repair all the damage done by NoBama. I felt that Bachmann (plus she’s easier to look at – hehe) had the same values but would be stronger in the long run. He talks about working within the system like a Freddy or Fanny, where Bachmann would have 86th them both. To remove funny money and financialization from the equation Fanny and Freddy need to go. Fiat money is what is causing inflation and prices to rise, including gas. His conscience may not be strong enough to overcome his religious guilt like Jimmy Carter had. Carter just couldn’t push the button and we has prisoners in Iran for 444 days before Reagan scared Iran into their release. As a side note I understand there was an agreement between Iran and Reagan to hold off until he won, but that’s another story.
Where are the articles of Santorum talking about his big plan? Where are the specifics? This tends me to thinks he really hasn’t formulated one, just wanting to be president fisrt and the fixer second. This is why he woun’t beat Romney (a fricking RINO).

Having been educated on nuclear weapons by the USN, I had a mental picture of what would occur when one of the 62 – 65 missiles arrived at it’s destination in the US, and for what?
