Santorum Says Fox News Is ‘Shilling for Romney Everyday’

During an appearance on Brian Kilmeade’s radio program Tuesday, GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum accused the Fox network of “shilling” for his rival, Mitt Romney.

“The man has had a ten-to-one money advantage,” Santorum said of Romney on the show.

“He’s had all the organizational advantage. He has Fox News shilling for him every day — no offense, Brian, but I see it — and yet, he can‘t seal the deal because he just doesn’t have the goods to be able to motivate the Republican base and win this election.”

Kilmeade, however, defended his network, qualifying that Romney’s campaign responds to interview requests promptly and that he had tried to book Santorum on his show for no less than three and a half months, to no avail.

“We’ve been requesting you [Santorum] on this show for about three and a half months, minimum, and we’ve gotten nothing but, ‘yeah, we’ll see,’” Kilmeade fired back.

“I’ve just got to take you on Fox News shilling for Mitt Romney, 24 hours a day, I totally disagree with that. You can feel the way you want, I‘m just telling you there’s no way I agree with that. And you’ve been on as much as anyone.”

Actually FOX (and Clearchannel, Beck, Rush, Hannity, Levin, Hotair, Townhall, etc) are shilling for the leftist Establishment republican/democrat party as a whole (including either/or leftist Romney, leftist Santorum and leftist Gingrich). This is ABSOLUTELY UNDENIABLE after the last year of BLATANT blacking out, marginalizing, ridiculing, kneecap-interviewing, debate-blocking, lying about, rumor-mongering, fear-mongering, laughing at, video/audio “accidents,“ graphics ”accidents,” poll-cooking, poll-blocking, poll-cherry-picking AGAINST the Constitutional liberty of Dr. (and veteran) Ron Paul.

I somewhat liked it when Romney pointed out that on the economy, Santorum is less conservative than Romney, that is almost irrefutable. ( http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2012/mar/romney_interview_cavuto.html ) Everyone says that, Santorum has a questionable background on the Economy. Romney has other questionable parts but Santorum is definitely worse on the economy.

@TEAPARTYFORROMNEY Your candidate wants to charge people taxes to produce carbon! He advocated for a universal healthcare mandate! He supported TARP! And, He supports amnesty no matter what he is saying now! Those three things are the worst economic socialist ideas that have come down the road in this country! There is nothing that will kill an economy faster than government bailouts, making people buy something they don’t want or need, killing energy with the idiocy of a pseudo-science, or dumping cheap labor that is supported by government handouts into this country! You need to get a clue! When were you tea party? When I marched on Washington those things are what we marched against! Now you are shilling for a purveyor of these socialist ideas! NOT TEA PARTY!

      SCRATINTHEHAT,

Romney does not believe in cap and trade, he shut down RGGI, he was one of two to shut it down. Yes he did put a cap, it was a pollution cap on emissions but there was no buying credits. And if you knew history, you would know it was because he had the highest polluting plant in the state that would not update their technology and continued to grab waivers through their crony buddies in the liberal Mass. legislature.

No he did not push socialized medicine. Socialized medicine is where we pay for others medical insurance. Romney mandated people to buy private insurance to get off the government dole. And yes we dislike a mandate but the state wanted it and still wants it, under the 10th amendment, people need to stop telling them what to do.

Gingrich supported the federal individual mandate. Santorum wanted the federal employer mandate, which would have forced them to cover even those they lay off. Put a .com on the end of my name and find out more about the truth on Romney, he is a conservative, unlike the media and his opposition want you to believe.

As for the rest of your rhetoric, it is all false, minus TARP. Sadly Gingrich said he would have voted for it and Santorum stayed out of the debate and no one heard anything from him, so all we know is he was for it. Then there is Ron Paul, who took credit for his controversial newsletters.

Romney is the best man to turn around this economy like he did in dozens of other economies of different size

      February 29, 2012

I’ve seen Romney on Hannity twice, and I believe he’s been on a total of three times. Gingrich and Santorum are on FOX every day of the week, sometimes more than once each. For every Karl Rove you can point to favoring Romney, I can point to an Eric Bolling or Sarah Palin who support one of the two chumps. If you honestly think Fox News shills for Romney, you either don’t watch Fox News, or you are delusional. Most people think that if someone isn’t openly supporting their candidate, they must be a shill for the other guy.

There is no doubt, however, that every single network has deliberately marginalized Ron Paul. I support Romney, but the media’s treatment of Ron Paul has been reprehensible and absurd.

Rick Santorum should stop whining and thank Fox News. If they treated him like they treat Ron Paul, he’d have never broken 5%. Similarly, if they treated Ron Paul like they treat Santorum, Ron Paul would be the alternative to Romney, and a great one at that.

Two things: If it were not for Fox News, Rick Santorum would have had to drop out a long time ago. Most people did not even know who this guy was until people on Fox started calling him the conservative alternative to Romney. Second, Ron Paul is a niche candidate. His followers are few, vocal and fill a space somewhere between libertarian and anarchist. The OWS people fill a space between liberal and anarchist. Most people have a hard time telling the difference if judged purely on behavior.

Rick’s got a point. Fox (with the exception of Hannity) has been pushing to make Romney the winner since Florida, and I think they were shocked when Santorum won several states. Santorum’s winning his votes on his merits, and Romney winning on his negative ads.

Why are we allowing propaganda and money influence this race? Do the people in this country no longer have a choice? (Did we ever or has it always been rigged?)

Puling for the liar and fraud Santorum, or the progressive pig Newt, is a losing choice and will ensure 4 more years of Obama. You people don’t understand how much people hate those two, get into the general election, forget about it. But, what can you do, southern US is all about cuttin your nose off despite your face, bigotry does that to you. Listening to the Alabama governor say that the economy is the greatest concern for his state, he says he voted for Santorum, so then Greta ask him if jobs is the biggest issue, then why didn’t he vote for Romney….. He might as well just said out loud, because I Am a bigot, but instead made up some BS answer about the candidates not talking about jobs enough, not SAntorum is the man for jobs. Cute, real cute …

Romney is running a very effective Reagan-like campaign that will prove successful when he beats Obama.

There‘s not a far right wing conservative that’s going to vote for Obama no matter who the republican nominee is, but luckily we have a candidate (Governor Romney) that is going to take A LOT of moderate and independent votes away from Obama. Gingrich nor Santorum will be able to do that.

That is exactly how Reagan beat Carter in 1980.

Some have mentioned that Romney doesn’t appear on FOX… Maybe that is because he is on CNN.

After all Romney is a Democrat running in the Republican Primary, Democrats get better friendlier press on left media. That is why he is not on Fox Much and always is on after Gingrich or Santorum to play off their interviews.

CNN’s Debates always ask Gingrich the question first so Romney has an advantage in the answers.. Big applause Romney says “ I agree with the speaker ” By the way I spent my life in the private sector. (I have studied this, don‘t make me play the tape to prove I’m right) uh uh Olympics.

Earlier in the day, before the returns started to come in, Romney appeared on CNN’s “Situation Room” where he told anchor Wolf Blitzer that Santorum was at the “desperate end” of his campaign.

“Senator Santorum is at the desperate end of his campaign, and trying in some way to boost his prospects,” Romney said.

In Alabama, with 99 percent of the precincts reporting, Santorum was in first place with 199,146 votes, or 35 percent.

you romney supporters have two options:
      1. Throw your hands in the air and tell people that the race is over even though romney doesnt have the required number of delegates. This is a continuation of romney’s scorched earth policy. You may win in the end but you will have pissed everyone off such that the fight against obama is a letdown (similar to the way things went down in 2008)
      2. Win the required number of delegates, fair and square, during the primary. Whether it occurs during the primary or in the convention doesnt matter. If romney wins in a proper primary, then the overwhelming majority of republicans will be behind him and he will have everything he needs to take on obama

I think we can all agree that we have NO Ronald Reagan’s amongst us today. Having said that, we need to stop beating each other up, come to a conclusion on a GOP Candidate and focus on defeating Mr. Obama.
Instead of spending precious dollars on adds smearing each other, concentrate on exposing this Radical Socialist Marxist Commie Loving Jihad-st in Chief based on his record over these last three years.
In addition continue to vett him. Paint a concise chronology of all of his deception through is philosophy based on his radical relationships. This must be done in the most profound way through radio & television advertisements as to insight thought to the most ardent Lefties. Yes it’s difficult, but not impossible if done coherently with style and unmitigated truth.

surely all the superPACs are already working on that. seems to me that romney supporters are the most obnoxious bunch. probably because they have the most reason to be afraid of a vetting process.

In a few months, there will still be plenty of time. americans already know who obama is and where this country is headed. they just need to TRUST the guy we nominate. by the way, reagan’s commandment had to do with AFTER the primary, not during it

      Soybomb315,

Well said, and in agreement with most of your points.

However, I am not convinced most Americans know who Obama is, where our country is headed..! This is why I would like to stress that the; SuperPAC’s really need to be on their game when it comes to the creativity, substance & style as to give the Leftie Lemmings a reason to really give consideration to depths of how disingenuous & dangerous Mr. Obama truly is…that’s not an easy task to accomplish……savvy…???
Most of the Lefty Lemmings are first class Kool Aide Swashbuckling Guzzlers who have been mislead by the MSM, most of the Print Media & Hollywood which unfortunately has a HUGE impact on the masses. So Creativity, Style & Substance is paramount (no…well yeah..pun intended) to deliver a message to deploy some type of rational thought process….?? But then again, if lefties had the ability for “ Rational Thought Process ” they wouldn’t be Lefties……you get my point though, right….???

      Yup, we’re in trouble…..!!!

I personally think that there is a difference between a social conservative and a nanny-state busy body. I consider myself (and Dr. Paul) social conservatives because I believe it is about ones own moral standards and how one conducts himself. I consider Santorum a nanny-state busy body because he believes in using the power of the state to force everyone else to behave the way he wants them to.

Here’s an outstanding article putting it in perspective.

If you watch Hannity, O’Reilly, Greta or any of the so-called “conservatives” on Fox they are half-way up Newt and Santorum’s arses! And the reason Mitt keeps winning is because the REAL TEA party isnt listening to the media and voting for Romney. I had to tuned to CNN – just so I could hear what Santorum was saying.

I bring this up because we all have witnessed sleazy media coverage from the Liberal Media – I do not expect it from the so called Conservative Media News like Fox News – Media is not going to make my decision for me.

FOX News is most definitely not a left-leaning social network. It leans right in everything… but it focuses more on bashing Dems than supporting social talking points.
