Santorum Says He Would Order Air Strikes If Iranian Leaders Do Not Dismantle Nuclear Sites

Santorum Says He Would Bomb Iran Nuclear Sites

(The Blaze/AP) Republican contender Rick Santorum says that if he’s elected president, he would bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities unless they were opened up for international arms inspectors.

The former Pennsylvania senator says President Barack Obama hasn’t done enough to prevent the Iranian government from building a nuclear weapon and has risked turning the U.S. into a “paper tiger.”

Santorum tells NBC television’s “Meet the Press” that he would tell Iranian leaders that either they open up those facilities, begin to dismantle them and make them available to inspectors — or the U.S. would attack them.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

“SANTORUM: I would say to every foreign scientist that’s going to Iran to help them with their program,’You will be treated as an enemy combatant like an Al Qaeda member,’ and finally I would be working openly with the state of Israel and I would be saying to the Iranians; ‘You need to open up those facilities, you begin to dismantle them and make them available to inspectors or we will those facilities with air strikes and make it very public.’

GREGORY: You would lay out a red line and if they pass it, air strikes?

SANTORUM: Iran would not get a nuclear weapon under my watch.”

The Obama administration, like President George W. Bush’s administration, has focused primarily on international diplomacy and economic penalties to try to pressure Iran into abandoning its nuclear program. Iran contends its efforts are for peaceful purposes.

Air strikes to all the confused poster/posers means NO strikes on the ground, ONLY strikes from the AIR. All it takes for Iran is for dedicated/targeted strikes surgically done by the best in the the business to produce a free Iran. WE can do it. no muss, no fuss. the populus loves U.S. there. not like Iraq or Afghanistan. Shouldn’t take too long to get favorable results.

      Here we go again. Verbatim:

“The Iraq War was a conflict that occurred in Iraq from March 20, 2003 to December 15, 2011. It began with the invasion of Iraq by the US under the administration of President Bush and the UK under Prime Blair. Prior to the invasion, the governments of the US and the UK asserted that the possibility of Iraq employing weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threatened their security and that of their coalition/regional allies. In 2002, the UN Security Council passed Resolution 1441 which called for Iraq to completely cooperate with UN weapon inspectors to verify that it was not in possession of weapons of mass destruction and cruise missiles. The UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) was given access by Iraq under provisions of the UN resolution but found no evidence of weapons of mass destruction. Additional months of inspection to conclusively verify Iraq’s compliance with the UN disarmament requirements were not undertaken… Some U.S. officials also accused Iraqi President Saddam Hussein of harboring and supporting al-Qaeda, but no evidence of a meaningful connection was ever found. Other reasons for the invasion given by the governments of the attacking countries included Iraq’s financial support for the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, Iraqi government human rights abuse, and an effort to spread democracy to the country.” (Wikipedia)

Your kind of thinking led way to WWII. Standing back and wait because it has nothing to do with this country?! Again? The last time that happened, the U.S. was dragged into the war anyhow. warmonger Christians need to face the consequences of their wars, you will not hide from God.
Since 2001, medical personnel at the Basra hospital in southern Iraq have reported a sharp increase in the incidence of child leukemia and genetic malformation among babies born in the decade following the Gulf War. Iraqi doctors attributed these malformations to possible long-term effects of DU, an opinion which was echoed by several newspapers.[78][107][108][109] In 2004, Iraq had the highest mortality rate due to leukemia of any country.[110] The International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons (ICBUW) has made a call to support an epidemiological study in the Basra region, as asked for by Iraqi doctors,[111] but no peer-reviewed study has yet been undertaken in Basra.

A medical survey, “Cancer, Infant Mortality and Birth Sex Ratio in Fallujah, Iraq 2005–2009″ published in July 2010, states that the “Increase in cancer and birth defects…are alarmingly high” and that infant mortality 2009/2010 has reached 13.6%. The group compares the dramatic increase, five years after the actual war 2004, or exposure, with the lymphoma Italian peacekeepers [112]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depleted_uranium

Great plan Santorum! We can just bomb the hell out of Iran and there will be no repercussions. This surely won‘t lead to war with Iran as they won’t mind a few missiles killing their people and destroying their infrastructure. And we can be positive that they won’t retaliate in anyway whatsoever. Oh yeah, so they do have that military alliance with Syria. And Russia and China have strategic interests with Iran. But why worry about that? You don’t have to think about how attacking Iran could lead to World War 3 as long as you get to talk tough in front of the camera. Anyway, Iran is just a third rate nation that just happens to be 2 and 1/2 times the size of Texas and has the world’s 17th largest economy. But yeah, attacking Iran won’t wreck the global economy at all. $200 a barrel oil would probably make the economy stronger, right?

APPLE BITE Excuse me???? With Iran’s track record?? Really?? Let me let you in on a little secret, hun. Iran has NEVER ATTACKED ANOTHER COUNTRY! They have always been the one attacked! Talk about track records. We went into Iraq on false pretenses. The mustard gas that someone else alluded to was complements of the good ol’ USofA. So was the training, etc. Then Libya, funding, aiding and abetting the ‘enemy’ aka al qaeda. There’s more on the list as well. People need to get their head out of their backsides and understand what is going on right in front of their faces!

Many of these people calling for war own stock and shares in defense companies. They make PILES of money with every war. They don’t want wars to stop. NO! That would mean they couldn’t make money! They NEED the wars to continue to line their pockets. WAKE UP for Christ’s sake. A fuel rod is NOT a NUKE! They are needed to produce energy as well. Japan’s system was blowing fuel rods into the ocean. Did that mean they Nuked someone? IF we attack Iran, China and Russia will jump in on Iran’s side and THERE WILL BE WWIII! And I’m sure it will just be airstrikes. Do you not believe that if the US was to openly attack Iran, that Iran would not retaliate in some way? Add on the same old situation where it will be deemed that the country needs a regime change in order to ensure peace….

Anyone believing in such actions against a somewhat developed nation without the need for soldiers to invade is naive. If it happens, it may not be the same conflict, but just like Iraq, they’ll find an excuse to invade the country in the future.

He is one of the few left that is willing to stand up for America and keep us safe. People who don’t understand this need to do research on what their objective is. In a perfect world, not going to war would be great but this is not a perfect world and is getting more dangerous every day. If we brought all our troops home as some would suggest, it would not be long before we would be surrounded by our enemies and then it is too late. The Constitution is not going to help us then. Trying to talk to these people who are fanatics is not going to do a thing. They want to take over the world. This is very serious.

Let us all be transparent and intellectually honest in regard to Iran. First, they are indeed led by a very radical theocracy. President Ahmadinejad has stated numerous times, on US soil and abroad his clear intentions to wipe us as well as Israel off the map. When is the last time a head of state has so openly and unapolegetically made such statements towards another nation(s)? Though the threat of Iran is very real, does this conclude we must engage in airstrikes or military action? Perhaps, we maybe left with no other choice? How long are we willing to wait before the words of a madman become reality? i.e Hitler? As a whole, no one wants to see war or watch family and friends go off to war. However, burying our heads in the sand because we are tired of talking about it doesn’t negate the realities of the world. How well did it work for us pre WWII when we tried to take a Isolationist approach?

Let’s be honest. Regarding that overly spread quote. Amadinejack never said that he wants to wipe Israel off the map. That is a translation made by those who would like to intimidate us through manufactured fear and propaganda. He never referred to the land mass of Israel. For Pete’s sake, one of the holiest sites in the Muslim world is in Jerusalem. The last thing they would do is destroy their own holy site, much less nuke it. Heck, he never said Israel either. He said Zion, referring to Jerusalem. And he said he would like to end the regime present in Zion. That is totally different from wiping Israel off the map. Heck, we ourselves changed the “regime” in Iraq. This better interpretation makes absolute sense with the Bible. Look at Psalms 83 and Zechariah 14 wherein all Nations are gathered against Jerusalem (they don’t nuke it), and God alone defends and fights for Israel. They don’t want to destroy, wipe out, or obliterate the land of Israel. What they don’t want there is the “regime” or “Zionist rule” present there. I am totally against Iran or any Muslim nation taking over Israel, but let’s get the facts straight. He has never said that he will nuke the US or Israel. That is totally fabricated. The man is a madman, but even he knows it would be idiotic for him to say that, as that would be a declaration of war against the greatest military. If we want war, let’s DECLARE WAR by Congress. Fight it, win it, and come back home. No Nation building.

Another war hungry Republican. We may have a bigger military than Iran; add Russia & China to the mix we do not look so tough. Then add the cost of another war, the loss of life, the absolute havoc a war will create on our economy due to skyrocketing oil and commodity prices, what the heck do we gain? The Arab Spring has worked out real well in our favor. Egypt, Libya & Tunisia, secular countries before the uprisings are now turning towards islamic fundamentalist governments. Let’s not forget the recent comment from the Afghanistan government saying they will side with Pakistan if there is a conflict. Iraq and Iran are now getting in bed with each other due to their shared religious beliefs of Shia Islam.

We can not just go in an blow up the nuke plants (that we know about), because they will just rebuild them. The only way we would win a war against Iran is to turn the country into glass. No one in our govt, including Santorum has the b@lls to do that. With our ridiculous rules of engagement & political correctness it will be another 10 yrs or more of armed conflict. Unfortunately, China (who will jump in to protect Iran because of their oil interests) has a larger population to spare so they already have an advantage over us. With such great success we have had over the past 10 yrs I can not wait to see the outcome of WWIII. I think I will invest in Rosetta Stone and learn a few new languages. Is Santorum going to pull an Obama and strike w/o Congressional authority (which is also a sham) – it will certainly be w/o a Declaration of War. Worse, how do we not see war as a HUGE growth of government. Believe it or not, the military is a branch of government – it is a tool to confiscate wealth and steal liberties in the name of fear. Why can we not see through it? It is a HUGE Progressive tactic. We NEED defense, but going hither and yon to “defend” is NOT defense and it robs us of our freedom, money, and humanity.

I don‘t spend time worrying about what our politicians will or won’t do regarding the Muslims and their lust for nuclear weapons, because sadly, that question will be answered soon, when they do indeed develop a bomb, mount it on one of their medium range missiles, launch it from a commercial ship off our coast, and destroy a major American city. After this happens, there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind what has to be done. It’s a shame, but it really looks like it will take an extreme, tragic scenario like this to wake up everyone in America to the real menace that Muslims pose to us all.

WE ARE BROKE!!!!!!!!! Do people not understand this?! What are we gonna do when China or Russia comes a knocking and we can’t defend ourselves because we spent so much fighting the terrorists in the middle east. COME ON people, the middle east is the least of our problems… seriously.

If we are so worried about terrorism, don’t you all think it would make more sense to bring the troops home, stop the foreign aid, and use all that money to build up the military here on OUR SOIL. Close the gates, guard the castle, be the biggest scariest dog on the block snarling from the front gate?! But to go out and start ANOTHER war?! It makes me sick just thinking about it!

I don’t know… this all just doesn’t make sense anymore.

The USA has squandered all the leadership we ever had over the past 50 years. I don’t trust anything that comes from DC, Iran with nukes? well that sucks but we can’t invade the entire planet. The US should be the best friend a nation could have to a very few, neutral to most and if something were to happen the worst nightmare any nation could imagine. The US is none of those, we politically failed at every war we ever fraught since Vietnam, Iraq at first had everyone in the middle east afraid of us until we started nation building and lost sight of the victory. Should have left the day Saddam was caught and we would have won. No wars, and if we are attacked then the attacking nation should be glowing green.

I get what you‘re saying and I’d prefer non of those countries left us in shambles, too, but the point is, if we end up completely broke, not only will we not be able to sustain any more wars on foreign soil but WE WON’T BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO DEFEND OURSELVES ON OUR OWN SOIL!!! Do you think the money supply is endless?

We need to get our priorities straight and starting a war with a small country that has no real military to speak of and certainly can‘t reach our soil just doesn’t make sense to me. Israel has the fire power to defend herself and if we start bombing Iran, their big nasty friends who DO have the ability to mess us up just might take the opportunity to do so. And for what? These Trotskyite useful idiot neocons do not comprehend the sheer danger even airstrikes usher in for our nation. It is the height of absurdity and naivete to think aggressions against Iran would stop at only airstrikes. Amazing useful idiot Santorum supporters are utterly ignorant of what REAL conservatism is, and Rick Santorum DOES NOT represent it, he represents the exploitation of Christian evangelicals for the neo-conservative ends. You people who do not believe me I implore you to ACTUALLY do some homework instead of devouring prepacked propaganda off of Fox News or the neocon hacks on talk radio.

If you neocon useful idiots/progressive Wilsonian Trotskyites actually knew what sort of people you support you would be revolted at this revelation. Look into the roots of neo-conservatism, learn its Trotskyist roots, learn of the Leo Strauss then see the progression over the years. Some of neo-conservatisms most prominent voices even would call themselves Wilsonians, and Im sure you all know who that alludes to. As you read of neo-conservatism you will find how these destructive people(who BTW hold no allegiance to any nation just as a parasite holds no allegiance to its host) have infiltrated our government on all levels and in both parties. They were once Democrats but now are mostly of the Republican bent. These neocons ARE progressives, they ARE big government people, they want to control me, you and everyone globally.

Russia and China are laughing at us as they control their own sources of gas and oil and other resources. We are at a point where we can barely sneeze w/o their permission. Russia and China may hate each other, but they have one thing in common – hatred of the United States – like the Muslims, communists, and other radicals – that is enough for now. Really? China? You think we have a man force close to theirs? Regardless, war is expensive and a destroyer of everything – life and wealth, especially. What is the point? Iran doesn’t get their own nuke – how long before Russia or China hand one off to them via Turkey, or just outright? If it were that easy, why not do it now? Why did we not do it under Bush? I am no military expert, but there is FAR more to it than meets the eye. Why do you think Israel is holding back? I believe we and Israel know it will open the Gates of Hell – and that favors the Middle East, Russia, China, Turkey, and any other nation that wants to see the the end of the western way of life.

Actually, our firepower means nothing if a leader won’t use it properly (like Obama hasn’t), and the Rules of Engagement arent’ change; right now the RoE basically have our soldiers hogtied and unable to actually FIGHT and WIN; it’s just skirmish after repeated skirmish out there, with us gaining a step, then losing a step, and the terrorists gaining a step, then losing a step. MEanwhile surrounding sountries like Pakistan and Palestine are providing training, weapons (in some cases gases), funding, and more terrorists to come in and figtht.

That’s a loosing battle unless we committ genocide. And that’s not an option. For however poorly Bush planned the wars and used the military, in comparrison to Obama, he‘s a freakin’ genius.

Where are we going to get the money to pay for said fuel, feed 48% of the population, give health care to the entire population, and pay all those huge public sector salaries? I just do not get all the myopia. If we were to fight them it better be over in a week b/c we will be fighting our 2nd biggest lender – I do not think the Fed could make up for that – especially when China and others divest themselves of dollars and we have TONS of green toilet paper. You agreed with a neocon to bomb a country that doesnt have, nor will have the nuclear tech in the next ten years at the very earliest. That sand flea infested waste of space is not worth one of our soilders.

First off WE ARE BROKE YOU MORON!!!!!

Secondly, how has the bombings in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Pakistan worked out for us. Oh yeah more broke.

Guess what bombing people, then rebuilding them and giving them rice isnt going to make them like us or wanting to quit blowing themselves up to kill us.

You people enjoy your slavery. Slavery doesnt require you to think, it only requires you to obey and not question. Critical thought is a foreign concept to you rubes. YES, 82dAirborne, thats an insult…now go cry me a river if pointing out the reality of you and your sort’s ignorance about this hurts you fragile little feelings. Reality is the US bombs Iran, we evoke WW3 and this time WE would be the bad guys. We would be the aggressor, we would be force seeking to impose our will upon others, we would be the tyranny attempting to spread our tyranny globally. Guys like you are completely ignorant of the genesis of the beliefs of people you support. Men like Rick Santorum are just carrying the water for the neocon Straussian globalists. Guys like Santorum want to impose their morals upon the world by the barrel of a gun, gee sounds like some commie from China. No wonder it does, neo-conservatism is the outgrowth of Leon Trotsky, you know, a communist.

How does it feel to so ardently support communism in the form of neoconservatism? You useful idiots make me sick!

Drop bombs on dumb people that couldnt point the United States out on a map much less send over the nuke they wont ever get.

      What is more likely.

We start a war with Iran and kill one hundred thousand men, women, and children. Put our troops on the ground and have a house to house fight like we did in Iraq. Then rebuild their country sending us into complete economic failure.

      or

Iran come up with the tech for nukes, ICBMs, avoid our detection, avoid our anti ICBM systems, and hit us with a missile. All while Israel doesnt attack them to protect themselves since they are honestly the first target.

I was calling for either they convert to Christianity or die, just like the good old days. Then I started looking around at all the freedoms we had to give up and the way the wars were being fought. Patriot Act, TSA, National Defense Act., listening to our military boys coming home , not being able to listen to the ones not coming home, and Trillions being spent on these wars, we are bankrupt. I was fool once by this crap once, never again.

I still think the new world order if too far along to stop, but with one world marxism, we would all be slaves. If the one elected doesn’t fit the illuminati agenda, they would probably be assasinated anyways.

People who are idelists and fanatics such as the leaders in Iran only understand the sake of force for the usasge of terror it inspires.

Second though is they do understand the way the US traditionally does it – to warn what happens if they intitialte hostilites; this is called “the fear of the APPLICATION of force.” or in short, we will make them howl for so long and loud the screams will still be heard echoing for 1000 years to come.

Confine strikes to reactors only.Thats my first thought anyway. I would think that Russia and China might not get too upset if it was done that way. Then they could just sell Iran more stuff to rebuild and trade for oil with little disruption in their relationship to Iran………But what do I know?
