Santorum Slams Obama‘s ’Hubris‘ and ’Snobbery’ On Education

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum slammed President Barack Obama’s education goals while speaking at a forum at St. Anselm’s New Hampshire Institute of Politics Saturday.
The former Pennsylvania senator lambasted the Obama Administration, describing that he was “outraged” when hearing President Obama say that he believes “every child in America should go to college.”
“The hubris of this president to think that he knows what’s best for you. I have seven kids, maybe they’ll all go to college. But if one of my kids wants to go and be an auto mechanic, good for him, that’s a good paying job, using your hands, using your mind,” said Santorum Saturday.
“This is the kind of snobbery that we see from those that think they know how to run our lives. Rise up America, defend your own freedoms.”
CNN video of Santorum’s heated remarks:
CBS News notes that the statement is part of a ongoing message that Santorum has made about inequality. At the event in Manchester, CBS reports that Santorum noted he wanted to created an economy that helps those left behind:
“We create private sector jobs by helping the private sector be successful…putting someone directly in someone’s pocket is not going to create manufacturing jobs. That isn’t going to make the local steel manufacturer or fabricator more competitive,” Santorum said in response to a question from National Journal Editor-in-Chief Ron Fournier.
CNN reports that Santorum believes the federal government should have a “very limited” role in education, advocating for “flexible and personalized approaches to education for each child to best maximize their potential.”

I am with you on this. I suggest we change the educational system to add college to the grade, middle and high school requirements. Since it is mandatory, college drop outs will be a thing of the past. Since we still want to make decissions for them, I suggest we raise the age limit for them to become an adult to 26, like they did in Obummer-anti-constitutional care. The only positive to this is that it would also raise the voting age.

Also I’ve watched CNN a few times; and unfortunately still see it every now and then. No news outlet is unbiased – however I’ll say this: CNN is not near the middle on the least biased list. Fox is 50/50; half the shows are biased one way, half the other. Fox is more so to the right; but it’s got quite a bit of a left to. In numbers I’d say CNN is about 60% to the left, and Fox is 45% to the right. Most of the bias on either channel is unintentional to some degree, but they are both biased.

Posted on January 8, 2012 at 1:50pmWhat kind of response was that? Certainly not an issue related one. Santorum is correct, in my opinion, about education. A university degree is not a right and definitely not for everyone. That we have an elite class of people who have overrun our government and permanently fixed themselves in positions whereby they are able to exert power over us wrongfully and where they line their pockets with “insider trading” type deals is unquestionable. That you would respond with a blanket statement about one party and a news station is outrageously funny. It’s “the pot calling the kettle black”… There’s no winner in wrongdoing.

When I started at Bell Canada I got in with a high-school diploma, by the time I retired 27 years later one can only get on with a minimum 2 years college for the same job description. The job is the same except the test equipment is far superior and resolves troubleshooting issues with much less knowledge of how the system works. The lie in this is that any college course qualifies, even those not associated with the work you are going to do. Honestly any high-school grad would still easily handle doing the same job.

They want control of it all and will not stop until everyone is working for a company run by the government. There will be no individually owned businesses for people to make their American dream come true. Teachers can encourage, but, if the child chooses not to take advantage of the educational opportunity and the parent can’t convince them to do so. Why is it the school systems responsibility? Another reason to defund the Education system and let parents place their children in environments of the parents choosing that may promote wanting to learn.
