Santorum Speaks on Super Tuesday: ‘We’re Going to Get at Least a Couple of Gold Medals’

Speaking to supporters in Ohio after Super Tuesday victories in Oklahoma and Tennessee, Rick Santorum said, “This was a big night tonight. We’re going to win a few, we’re going to lose a few, but as it looks right now, we’re going to get at least a couple of gold medals.”

He added, “We have one in the West, the Midwest, and the South, and we’re ready to win across this country.”

The GOP presidential hopeful also spoke about his vision for America and said he entered the race “because of … one particular issue that to me breaks the camel’s back with respect to liberty in this country. And that is the issue of Obamacare.”

In speaking about his rival Mitt Romney, Santorum sai, “It’s one thing to defend a mandated top-down government run health care program that you imposed on the people of your state. It’s another thing to recommend and encourage the President of the United States to impose the same thing on the American people. And, it’s another thing yet to go out and tell the American public that you didn’t do it.”

Two points I want to make…first those of you that keep throwing the conservative card, I believe Romney’s lowering of taxes, cutting the deficit, balancing the budget, cutting government, vetoing left bills, and so forth is about as conservative as they come. Santorum’s using excuses for voting for more spending, lack of voting for cutting the deficit, voting for ear marks, and more is about as unconservative as it comes.
Second point….Everyone talks about how much more Romney’s campaign is spending, but no one is taking into account all of the advertisment that GBTV, and radio does for Santorum by Beck. This tells me that Santorum’s campaign is actually having comparable amounts used in his behalf.

Sorry but if you call supporting the NDAA, and the Patriot Act Conservative…then I’m definitely NOT a Conservative. Romney and Santorum have openly stated this. Either you follow the Constitution or you don’t.

    My passionate plea…

No one is perfect. Every single person on the blaze has different values, theologies, and ideals of what we would want in a President.

BUT LET ME GET ONE THING STRAIGHT… any of these 4 candidates would be better than Barack Obama and the minions he has appointed to serve with him.

Obama has absolutely no record to stand on! NONE! He knows it, and the MSM knows it. They know the only way they will win is if we conservatives self destruct.

The left is eagerly supplying ammunition to the conservatives to fight their own internal battle… and we are taking that ammunition hook line and sinker. We are using it to divide each other and destroy our remaining candidates… making our nominee less and less viable against Obama.

I understand that we don’t need to rally around one candidate yet, but the time will SOON come when we will, and whoever the nominee is, we MUST rally around as if our life depends on it… because our life does depend on it.

What can we do right now, before rallying behind the nominee? We can stop the bickering and name calling; we can stop the hateful, shameful, and demeaning rhetoric.

We can stop blindly accepting the ammunition that is fed from the left and we can stop using it against each other. We can have civil debates where reason, logic, and evidence are used to discuss our candidates.

If we lose this election, it is OUR own fault for not rallying together for liberty and conservatism.

Yeah Santorum…you voted to raise the debt ceiling 5x, doubled the size of the BOE, defended your support of the Patriot Act, defended your support of the NDAA, and defended your support of TARP….

Thats ok though because we know you’re all about smaller limited government lol

    Just say no to Santorum

Anybody but Obama, But will anybody ever stop the hemorrhaging of lady liberty, Or are we will be forced to continue watching here die a slow and painful death

I also noticed how negative and whiny both Gingrich and Santorum were. I also noticed the BIG LIES that the “Christian” Santorum spewed. It really makes me sick that he thinks he represents Catholics. Interesting that Romney wins most Catholic voters.

Obama promised and talked big in 2007 as well… I’d still like to see Santorums stance all I ever hear is about his child dying and anything negative… too biased.

Anyone watching Fox and hear them say Gingrich and Santorum’s victory speech was too long, but yet said nothing about the speech from Romney, which I didn’t time, but believe was much longer than either of the other two. They were also sweating when they thought they were going to have to declare Santorum the winner in Ohio, but when Romney won….yep.. all smiles and giggles, even from Joe Trippi and Juan Williams. It sure scares me that Romney is the favorite of the left. Romney and Obama are close to the same…some of you are right about that. Both are backed by power, money, and lots of lies…but I may have to vote for Romney and will willingly to get Obama out….just don’ t leave me with hopes of real change.
At least we didn’t have to wait for the pick-up truck to bring in votes like in Iowa…lol..then of course maybe the same delivery truck came in and they counted them wrong in Ohio too…lol….I wish.

A QUESTION FOR GINGRICH SUPPORTERS….If newt doesnt win, who is your second choice???

A vote for gingrich in michigan and ohio did absolutely nothing except ensure a romney win. If you had voted for santorum, santorum would have won both states and romney would have zero chance of clinching the nomination – romney would then have to win it through a brokered convention. However, now that romney won michigan and ohio, you have increased the chances of a 2008 repeat – where the primary is decided before most people have a chance to vote.

Gingrich supporters talk about how smart newt is – too bad his supporters lack in that department!!

If Santorum had a younger looking hair style and clothes, he could have beaten Romney by a landslide on Super Tuesday.
Santorum is young, energetic, and physically fit, but no one could tell, because of his hair and clothes.

…he’s SUCH a contrast that only about 25% of the population will vote for him in a general election; the liberals NEVER will, and the more he babbles on ‘social issues’, the more the MSM is going to be able to portray him as an ‘aspiring televangelist/theocrat’, which is going to scare the bejeepers out of the moderates and independents…elections are about perception; and Santorum is a ‘target rich environment’ for unfair MSM ridicule

That is the 3rd time you have made that comment. Why are you scared of the primary??? Is it because your candidate is a moderate? Is it because he flips and flops? Let the states vote – if your candidate is strong then he should be able to beat santorum. If romney struggles to beat a santorum campaign that lacks organization and money – how in the world are you going to beat obama????

We had a similar choice in 2008. Fool us once shame on you, fool us twice – shame on us. Wake up people, we need to pick the best candidate for the job
