Sarah Palin Delivers Passionate Response to Dick Cheney‘s Claim That She Was a ’Mistake’ & Calls Chick-fil-A Protests ‘Bigoted’

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was in rare form last night when she joined FOX News’ Greta Greta VanSusteren to discuss issues ranging from the Chick-fil-A controversy to Vice President Dick Cheney’s statement that she was a poor choice for Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2008.

Palin Defends Chick fil A & Responds to Dick Cheney

The segment opened with the controversy surrounding the fast-food chain. VanSusteren asked Palin why she was jumping in to support the restaurant (recently, Palin Tweeted in support of Chick-fil-A). Rather than focusing upon the issue of gay marriage, Palin said her support was rooted in a dislike for the ban that has been advanced against the company.

“I’m speaking up for him and his First Amendment rights and anyone else who would wish to express their — not anti-gay people sentiment — but their support for traditional marriage,” Palin said, referring to Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy. “President Obama and Joe Biden — they both supported the exact same thing until just a few months ago when they had to flip-flop to shore up the homosexual voter base.”

The politician went on to call the poor treatment of Chick-fil-A and the calls for bans on the food establishment ”intolerant, bigoted, hypocritical“ and ”narrow-minded.”

As for Cheney, who recently said that it was “a mistake” for Palin to be chosen for vice-president in 2008, the former Alaskan governor had plenty to say. When VanSusteren asked Palin about this statement, she passionately responded, saying that she was honored to have been chosen as a candidate and that it would have been a mistake for her not to accept the nomination. Here’s her full response:

“The mistake would have been me just deciding that, ‘Hey I love my 86, 87 percent approval rating up there in Alaska as the governor moving and shaking and watching corrupt politicians and businessmen to go prison for crony capitalism. Working on 16 to 20 percent of domestic energy supplies being able to be increased via Alaska’s resource development. Ethics reform legislation that I was working on — that led to that 86 percent approval rating.

I could have decided, you know, I don’t want to be blooded up, I don’t want my family to go through what we will have to go through in order to put ourselves forward in the name service to this country. But I did it. It would have been a mistake to have hunkered down — just lived that luxurious…comfortable lifestyle in Alaska…We like so many people in this country decided, we will do all that we can in order to defend our republic, put America back on track. And I believe I did the right thing in accepting that call.”

Funny how all of the sudden the cool thing to do is to bash Vice President Cheney when the majority of individuals who post on and read this website supported him.

“Cheney’s one of them.”: Give me a break.

Do you really believe that? Tell me, why did she leave political office? Was it because she was caught misusing campaign funds for her own personal benefit and the benefit of her immediate family? She’s just playing the game. Now she goes on these obscure and meaningless road trips where she gets unlimited donations from people stupid enough to give money to her “cause.” She’s not a politician. She’s an entertainer, a fraud and a criminal.

If McCain and Palin would have won in 08 would America be better off, I would think so, I do not think we would be as divided as we are now as a nation. Obama and Biden have done nothing but divide the nation through class warfare , we have gone backwards as a nation and lost ground. The United States has become a joke around the world and we have found that we have no true allies other than Israel who remains faithful even though the President shows its leaders so much disrespect . Obama was a very poor choice for President and Biden for vice president, Reid is a poor choice for the Senate and must be replaced.

Maybe it was that high at one time but no more.

“A new Alaska Poll released today shows 61% of Alaskans have a “very unfavorable” or “somewhat unfavorable” opinion of Palin, a former governor and the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.

Thirty-six percent view Palin positively, according to the survey by Dittman Research & Communications.”

McCain, “THE WHIMP”, had a game plan that wouild not allow anyone on his staff to bash & expose Obama for the unqualified candidate that he was ans still is. McCain took all the punches without giving any back. No rebuttles!! Yep, Palin enhanced the campaign and it was McCain that clearly lost it!! Instead of returning to complete her term as Governor of Alaska … and work to improve & strengthen her knowledge of the issues that our Country faces …

to a point where she is unelectable in Presidential politics …

If MCCAIN had chosen ROMNEY the Country could have looked to MCCAIN ROMNEY to save the economy …
Instead of having two Presidential candidates running … each without a clue as to the measures needed to right the economy …
ROMNEYS business knowledge & experience could have been used as the MAIN REASON to vote for MCCAIN ROMNEY against the HOPE & CHANGE inexperience …of OBAMA …

NOW … WE MUST JOIN TOGETHER TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY

Just like REAGAN brought us out of the CARTER depression … Into 30 YEARS of prosperity

All religious belief is just opinion. We don’t fully believe the bible, so to say that one christian is right and another christian is wrong just doesn’t work. There are plenty of christian homosexuals, and you can’t say that they are wrong unless you want a full literal interpretation of the bible. We all cherry pick the verses we like and dismiss the ones we don’t want to follow. Should we stone people to death?

Exodus 21:15 – “…and he who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death…”

Like that would be a plausible defense in court today. Yeah, my son struck his mother so I killed him. Do you agree with that?

Come on people we have to come together and remind each other that my God is not your God and your God isn’t the same as anyone elses God. We all pick and chose.

If you don’t then I want to watch you stone some one to death.

I definitely don’t think Cheney is one of them.

I would like to see some clarification of his remarks before I can strongly disagree with what he was trying to say. I think it was more about experience, although I don’t think that was much of a factor in 08, especially given Obama’s lack of experience. If he actually thinks Palin was the drag on the ticket in ‘08 then he wasn’t paying close enough attention to that race. Apparently he didn‘t notice McCain’s flip-flops and political correct style. He also didn’t notice how little enthusiasm there was for him and how much Palin energized conservatives.

Something people need to remember when they think Palin is such a polarizing figure is that there are always forces out there looking to demonize conservatives. The time they spend on her would be spent on others if she weren’t such a strong foe. While they attempt to demonize all conservatives they can’t hammer everyone at the same time. So she pretty much takes a lot of the heat off others. Cheney has been one of those that has been hit hard as well so he should consider that.

There is a reason Cheney is hated by the left; Because he is brilliant and a conservative. Not perfect, but still top notch.

      Exactly my sentiment.

In addition, a real servant of the people would have gone back to Alaska and finished her term. She could have still been a vocal part of the conservative movement and been in a position of power too. She also could be running for a Senate or Representative seat after finishing said term.

Instead, she chose the path of least resistance with a pot of gold waiting for her.

Sarah Palin could have returned to Alaska and finished her term, but she chose to go on the road to promote good conservative candidates for the 2010 election. And by the way, most of them now are sitting in government. She is still promoting those conservative candidates and hopefully this time around we can add a few seats in the Senate, so Harry can sit down and shut up as Obama’s puppet, and by some hope get things accomplished for bringing back the U.S. to the republic it is supposed to be, living by the Constitution and everyone helping and doing their part.

Agreed. But a sentiment I will voice repetitively on this blog is the following:

The split in the ‘conservative’ party, the ‘republican party’ is becoming increasingly clear—in my view one reason why Oblamma has a good chance of winning: The Tea Party—Libertarians of sorts—-versus the Old Guard, William F. Buckly Jr. party of imperialist War Monging, military-industrial complex supporters. Palin is the former, and Cheney the latter.

And that divide defines and delineates all that has happened in the ‘conservative’ movement over the last 4 years. The ‘liberal’ movement is simply Collectivism, in one form or another.

I predict Oblamma will win this election, the Republican party will finally split, and the Libertarian ‘types’ will take over the ‘new Republican’ Party in 2016…..no doubt facing Mrs. Clinton.

Perhaps then we will take back this country. Palin will not be that candidate, I think.

Chaney is a Jeb Bush supporter. The GOP elites want Obama to win so in 2016, America will be so destroyed that Americans will vote for anyone and Jeb Bush will be the one. Intolerant, bigoted, hypocritical and narrow-minded: These words truly fir the MAYORS of Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, DC. they are the ones showing bigotry.

In America, freedom of expression is still a right granted to us by GOD and written into the Constitution. When these idiot mayors decide to try of leverage their line of thought at the exclusion of any other person’s ideas by attempting to deny Chic-fil-a the right to open a business in their city, that is a comparison to what you would find in Stalin’s Russia, Castro’s Cuba, China under Mao (Even today, remember their censoring of Google?) and many other dictatorships. Their mantra is: You can speak out about your thoughts and ideas, just as long as they agree with mine!

By the way, I belong to a mainline church (Episcopal). I am a staunch conservative and disagree with many of the policies enacted by our denomination. That doesn’t make me a villain. I have the right to my opinions and the right to express them. We have straightforeward discussions and even though we disagree on many points, we respect each others views.(A far cry from these mayors)

I would totally agree with you Encinom. As long as they blend into the woodwork and not push their nasty disease onto others; most people had no problem with them. When the homosexuals started to go into churches and throw urine on Christians who were worshiping I think most humans woke up to the realization of the evil behind the homosexual movement.
When I lived in Silicon valley as a young man it was like going to college and the frat boys ‘rushing’ you. All the homosexuals were trying to get the young boys to join their organizations. The parties were great but their pushy, impatient, and rude behavior if you didn’t hop into bed as soon as they asked was a real turnoff… and they could never understand when someone would say, “ewww… no thanks” I mean how many times does a young guy have to hear how much better a guy can give a xx than a woman before he realizes that most humans are in relationships because of love not because of sex? Sex is so much better with someone you love than with every guy in the hot tub at the gay club.

You know when you scare the hell out of people, is when they just wont shut up about you.Palin IS a conservative, not a commie//marxist like cheney, obummer, mccain, and all the rest of the so called progressives in this country. And while the left (commies) have fixated on Palin, the rest of the nation has awakened. So be afraid lefties, be very afraid……

Thanks. The Left’s Divide the “Dumb” ( anyone who isn’t a Democrat !) Republicans Plan is just moving right along ! Have noticed that they are even running those ” anti-Mormon ” comments here ! The Democrat plan to “divide” is also coupled with their plan to “shrink the electorate” which rests on getting people so discouraged by how rotten all politicians are, that the voters won’t vote ! Have heard ALL of these types of comments by our Trolls here. Watch for them ! Alinsky on the loose !
