Sarah Palin: ‘I Will Not Be Seeking the 2012 GOP Nomination’

In a letter to supporters, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin announced on Wednesday evening that she will not enter the 2012 presidential race. With New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie having made the same announcement one day earlier, it seems the current GOP field is now set in stone.
Palin said her decision was based on a “review of what common sense conservatives and independents have accomplished, especially over the last year.”
Palin’s statement can be read below in its entirety:
After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.
My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.
From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.
I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.
Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.
In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.
Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!
God bless America.
– Sarah Palin

I wish she could have selected a candidate before she let down all her supporters, but it is what it is and I know that I can, in all good consciousness, BACK HERMAN CAIN!!! I would LOVE to see a CAIN/RUBIO ticket. I know Marcos doesn’t want to be VEEP but I think he would be a great addition to the ticket. I would love to see NEWT as the SECRETARY OF STATE. Maybe offer PALIN the COMMERCE SECRETARY (at least in dealing with OIL) AND TRUMP too! WE have good people….we just can’t run scared and vote for RINO ROMNEY (corporate raider) or PERRY (border ???) we need a good man…CAIN. :) Maybe we will be able to save a lot of $$ to take on the traitor in the WH by knowing who we’re going to go for!! I will not give up on Gov. Huckabee until after the first primary. If by then he hasn’t entered the race, I may also jump on the Cain bandwagon. Still undecided, though. We need a Neo-Reagan, and he doesn’t appear to be forthcoming. Praying for Huck to have a change of heart.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 7:55pmI like Huckabee too. What a disappointment, I was hoping Palin and Huck would both surely run. Just goes to show you never can predict these things…
Huck will not run, he is too much of a politician to throw in at this late date. I think God definitely closed those doors for him for whatever reason, just as I am sure Palin prayed hard on this too. Whatever is in store for us does not involve those two, which should be a warning to Christians. Unfortunately my crystal ball is cracked but I feel things are going to be coming quick…

Herman Cain had a great interview with the Wall Street Journal ( http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2011/oct/cain_ows_fault.html ) and Romney had a great interview with the NH Union Leader Newspaper they really drilled him on the indepth questions. I wonder if this has anything to do with Roger Ailes saying “I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings.”

Herman’s 9-9-9 Plan is the way forward. And he’ll pull 30% of the black vote, and forge a new alliance to creating a future tilting factor based on Conservative values. Posted on October 5, 2011 at 9:26pmSeems Ashes to Ashes and me are the only 2 on here that can see Cain for what he is – another RINO. Cain, after saying he believed in the Second Amendment, went on to say that gun control/regulation should be left to the States in direct contradiction to, not only what he first claimed, but what the Supreme Court ruled.
Report Post »Cain also supported TARP, flip-flopped on auditing the Fed, is pro-Patriot Act. How can anyone call themselves a conservative is they support the Patriot Act which stripped away so many of our rights?
Ron Paul voted NO on Tarp, NO for the Patriot Act, NO for the Dept of Homeland Security Authorization Act which gave us the TSA, wrote a bill to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of America, wrote a bill that would strengthen the 14th Amendement by clarifyling that a US citizen is one born of parents who are citizens of the US or whose parents held their alliegance to the US. Ron Paul wants to end the Fed, end the IRS, end the EPA, get rid of the Dept of Ed, and although it‘s doubtful he’ll be able to achieve these magnificent feats, he’ll at least get the ball rolling.
Another thing about Cain, I know how people are all hyped up about an ousider being in the WH, but we already put one in and we see how disasterous that’s been. Cain would be on an unbelievable steep learning curb and he doesn’t even know the difference between the Declaration of Independance and the Constitution!
Stop being sheep. Research the candidates on your own.

Their policies will — WILL — be the same. There WILL be NO reform. The troops WILL stay in harm’s way, half way around the world, for NO reason, and WITHOUT a declared State of War. There WILL be no auditing and shutting-down of the Federal Reserve (why would he crap in his former coworkers’ Cheerios?) After South Carolina, no matter who the frontrunner is, ” Trump will rear his wafty head as an independent. His role will be to serve as s second source of attack on Obama. So, Romney will eventually be nominated, he and Trump will make-belive debate in the media, while they both slam Obama. Double the noise machine, whipping all the lunatics into a froth. Report Post »What truly makes me cringe is the fact that those who say they support Cain have obviously not done their homework.
They have forgotten how so many were duped by the rhetoric of BO 3 yrs ago, and now they are being duped by Cain who’s taught himself all the correct TEA Party lingo. Despite his never holding office, Cain still has a record. But will they delve into it? No, so much easier jumping onto the bandwagon.
I frequent several blogs and my plea is the same on them all: VET the candidates!
Very few are listening. Is it laziness or just stupidity that prevents them from vetting the candidates? We’ll probably never know.
I do fear this country is doomed. If people can’t see what a fake Cain is, then there’s little hope for the US to be restored to a Republic.
Also, I don’t think Palin supports Cain. If she had, she would not have said he‘s the new ’flavor of the week’. Unfortunately, it seems most people here can’t see that.
That said, I’d rather have Romney than Cain. At least we really know what to expect with him. Cain is a loose canon who shoots his mouth off without knowing of what he speaks.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 10:00pmI, too am relieved that she is not running. Matrix, you are right. The Left has unfairly smeared her and lied about her. But, my disillusionment with her is not based on the smears of the MSM, which I discount. It is based on what I, personally have observed. I was so excited about her when she gave that great speech at the convention. But then I listed to her drone on and on, answering question after question with vague platitudes and non sequiturs. I have finally decided that she is an absolute lightweight. That would become so apparent in a general election to anyone with half a brain that she could not possibly win.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 7:04pmYes, I love Herman Cain and hope he makes the cut. I also love Sarah Palin and feel she made the correct decision. Mostly because, for me, it broke my heart hearing all the mean, hateful things they directed at her. People are so mean anymore. Mostly the Libs are the meanest I’ve ever seen. And the MSM are a bunch of liberal jerks I will never read or watch. So help me, God.
I‘m really heart broken Sarah can’t just run for the office because I think she could have done a good job. I also think Herman Cain will do a good job and I will stand behind him and support him.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 6:54pmThis is a good thing. By not splintering the non-progressive right, we can get a candidate who isn’t a progressive Republican and win the Presidency. A progressive Republican is exactly what the Obama camp wants to face because either they win (which is possible with a wishy-washy progressive “moderate”) or they lose to a Republican who will give them the Presidency in 2016.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 6:50pmOne can only hope that our republicans take on the challenges she has set forth as their republican platform. Nobody can disagree with where our country needs to be right now. Every candidate needs to endorse these strategies as their own and now is the time to display such solidarity. There should be no compromise on these goals, which the majority of the people speak up for as well.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 7:21pmYou are right on. Sarah laid out her idea’s without leaving room for guessing – it may be one of the reasons she resonated with so many. It is time to vote with $$. Until the general election we must demonstrate a solidarity on the principles and values. Yet, at the same time, we shouldn’t be afraid to ask tough questions & demand answers from our republican field. We must continue to gather enough information to make an intelligent decision in time for the republican primary. Each individual ought to be supporting who he thinks is the best of the field right now. So far, I have supported (with $$) two different Republican candidates. I am almost ready to support a third… after I have heard and seen all I need, I will support only one. The run up to the primaries helps us select the the best candidate to run against Obama provided we have also been willing to vote with our $$ to keep our candidate’s campaign going to that point. The last candidate standing will deserve our full support.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 7:14pmPasserby….Cain is a solid, smart, motivated man. The context of the ‘no job, your fault’ thing was about the quality of people protesting Wall Street. It‘s more than a little likely that those people don’t know how to build anything or even do anything that’s actually meaningful. They DO seem to believe that they have a right to a great job and a big paycheck though. Wrong. They don’t. Mr Cain is TOUGH…and if America doesn’t get tough herself, we’re not going to survive. Sustainable opportunities can never come from government. They can only come from a thriving, private business sector. Incidently, I also think Sarah made the right decision.

Damn straight it is.Whose fault is it if you don’t have a job?Everybody elses?????Hell no!There are those who bitch and moan about any given bad situation and then there are those who refuse to give up or give in.I can feel for a single person with little kids to raise, but not a man or woman who has time,is in reasonably good health and has the ability to learn. You can’t just stay in one place hoping to find work if none is available. You sometimes have to go where the work is,however disruptive it is.Certain parts of the country are booming right now, with good pay and no college needed.North Dakota is a prime example.Crappy Winters, but so what? Texas is also job rich,as are other areas.

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 9:45pmSome folks have had a run of bad luck, and haven’t been able to find a job again.
This is due to a number of things, in many cases:
1) Obama administration creating an absolutely Hellish business climate.
2) Grifters at the Wall Street investment houses and at the Federal Reserve cratering the economy.
3) Government and big corporations in collusion to send manufacturing overseas.
4) Government and big corporations in collusion to import cheap illegal labor.
5) It’s damned tough and expensive to move elsewhere in the country to find work, when you don’t have a job.
6) You don’t find work, no matter how hard you try, where jobs do not exist.

Cain is the same kind of RINO we’ve been suffering with for the last 50 years or more.
He IS a progressive. Just because he’s black, and the thought of sticking your finger in the eyes of retarded liberals makes you giggle, do NOT forget to ACTUALLY RESEARCH the man’s positions, writings, and policy statements. They paint a FAR different picture than the sound-bites you’ll see at the debates.
If Cain is the nominee, I’ll sit this one out. Or maybe vote for the Kenyan, just so we can get through to the other side of this crisis sooner. If we’re going to destroy this nation, we might as well get it over with so we can start fresh, rather than hanging on just a little longer with someone like Cain, who will mollify the people whose ire would be best directed toward tearing down this cesspool of a nation and rebuilding it into something more like the Founders envisioned.
