Sarah Palin: ‘I’m Game’ to Run for Future Office & ‘All Bets Are Off’ in Event of Brokered GOP Convention

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin isn’t one for divulging the tactical details of her (potential) future political plans. In fact, the 2008 vice-presidential contender is known for leaving much to the imagination when it comes to future electoral prospects. Last year, she made fans wait quite a while before announcing that she wouldn’t be seeking the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

On Wednesday, on FOX Business’ “Follow the Money,“ Palin told Eric Bolling she ”would do whatever [she] could to help,” leaving the door open to any and all possibilities should a brokered convention take form later this year.

Sarah Palin Talks About 2012 Prospects & Possible Brokered Convention

Mediaite recaps the discussion:

Sarah Palin was the first guest on the first episode of Follow the Money, so it seemed natural for Eric Bolling to bring Palin back for his final show. In an extensive interview that began with Bolling asking Palin to explain how her life has changed since becoming Sen. John McCain‘s running mate and culminated with Palin noting that “all bets are off” as to who can be nominated in a brokered convention — something she considers a real possibility.

Palin specifically talked about the fact that the Republican Party is lacking intense enthusiasm for any one candidate, although she maintained that all four contenders have strengths. Additionally, she reiterated the respect she has for each GOP leader vying for the ticket.

Predictably, Bolling asked Palin about her future plans. As is usually the case, she kept her answer vague.

“I cannot predict what will happen in the future, but I know I’ve got the fire in my belly to try to help,” she maintained. “If that involved running for public office at some point in the future, I’m game for that.”

Then, Bolling went on to ask what Palin would be willing to do if one candidate doesn’t secure enough delegates and the primary process ends with a brokered convention.

“Well, for one, I think that it could get to that…if it had to be…closed up today, the whole nominating process, then we would be looking at a brokered convention,” Palin said. “Nobody is quite there yet, so I think that months from now, if that is the case, all bets are off as to who it will be, willing to offer up themselves up in their name in service to their country. I would do whatever I could to help.”

See Palin and Bolling address these issues, below:

Palin also dropped by FOX News’ “The Five” yesterday, surprising viewers and the show’s hosts (including Bolling), alike:

Palin’s appearance on “Following the Money” marks the end of the program, as FOX Business has cancelled its entire prime-time lineup.

Here, on TheBlaze and EveryWhere, at the mention of Sarah’s name the mud starts roiling in the BHO Swamp and the trolls start spitting.

That, In Itself, Is A Powerful Statement About The Left’s Extreme Fear Of Sarah!

Sarah Would Run BHO Out Of America’s White House With One Hand, While Beating BHO At BasketBall With The Other Hand! It Would Be Easy For Sarah and BHO & Minions Know It!

I’m a conservative & as a former fan of hers, she is an idiot. I totally turn her off but from boards I always find out what she says. Fox has her own constantly. They have pushed Newt, Sant & now Sarah. Please give me a common sense conservative like Mitt. She is hoping for a brokered convention because she wants to be the nominee without doing any of the work. It won’t work because she is only loved by the far right & the rest of us wouldn’t vote for her especially the independents.

Nobody has any “fear’ of Gingrich. The Left hopes he gets the nod because is the weakest of the 4 remaining for a general election contest. Romney probably did “fear” Newt a couple of months ago. Now Romney has Santorum to fear. Newt knows he can’t win. Wait — he SHOULD know he can’t win, but he might be deluded by his ego into thinking he can win. No doubt his ego will keep him in. That ego is undermining his obvious hatred for Romney — because if Newt dropped out, then Santorum would have a better shot at beating Romney. Some intense irony there.

BHO is very quick to make it clear who he‘s scared of and It’s Sarah and Newt! The Mud Flies When Any Attention At All Is Given To Those Two!

I Love Santorum’s Paint Ball Ad! Very Smart Of Him To So Cleverly Call Romney Out On His Smear Gun Campaigning.

Very Interesting How, After Romney Claims A Win, Uncounted Votes Show Up. It’s Happening Now In Maine!

Romney Will Lose Michigan and Romney Is Who Needs To Step Down And Get Out Of The Way. Romney’s Self Implosion Is Beginning And Natural Selection Will Take Him Out Of The Race [again] Anyway. Romney Is Finding Out That He Can’t Buy We The American People!

May I suggest, America, just start asking people about the candidates. Take Your Own Poll! I was getting my car worked on yesterday and started talking with other folks who were waiting = Not One Of Them Likes Romney. They ALL Like Newt and Santorum!

We need to come together and allow many of us to feel inclusive under the constitution. Palin put herself in the liberal cross hairs with her inflammatory comments. I don’t really know what her principles are. Can anyone offer up a list of specific policies? If she were serious, why didn’t she throw her hat in months ago? She’s hot and all but is there any there there?

    What’s her tax plan?

    Budget plan?

    Foreign policy?

What programs / departments would she cut?

    Illegal Alien stance?

    What regulations would she cut?

See, my guy is Ron Paul. And she’s no Ron Paul. I know some of you will be glad of that. I just don‘t think she’s got what it takes. But, again, educate me. And I’ve heard all of the general stuff. Be specific. From where I sit, she’s more like the 3 stooges running against RP: lukewarm, at best. She might be ever so slightly better for all I know. But she strikes me as yet another one of these people who, if allowed behind the wheel, would still steer us over the cliff into full socialism albeit at a slightly slower rate and angle.

There is a lot of ego in play here; usually is in elections, of course. There are imperfect choices as always. But to paint a blue house red, it takes many brush strokes. It may take more than one coat, but the house will eventually turn red from blue if the painter or painters are all using the same color of paint. Nothing done right happens over night. We will see how this plays out and every voter and candidate had better back our ‘lead painter’ to turn this house red; whomever that turns out to be.

How on earth then is she going to run for any other office or an office as big as the presidency? If she thinks it was bad back then, she ain’t seen nothing yet. She is good at gathering the crowd and getting the fire lit. She should stick to that. I, for one, don‘t’ want her to be president anymore then I do Obama.

Ditto. Assuming ALL the conservatives in the US voted for her, she’d get maybe 25% of the vote. She’d get creamed by the moderates and liberals who see her as a less than serious candidate. (Yes, I’m being charitable here, get over it.)

Palin is in the most powerful position she can ever be in, right here, right now. Her opinion (for good or ill) receives national attention, and she doesn’t even need to run for office to get it. She runs for national office and loses—it’s all over but the laughing in the MSM. And…this is the important part… she would not win.

Want a strong conservative female with a proven track record and intellectual cred to back it up? Paging Condoleeza Rice….

Sarah Palin resigned to get the countless attacks against her out of the governor’s office, and the money they cost the state, away from the burden of taxpayers; her entire administration was paralyzed by those frivolous complaints.

That entire campaign of BS lawsuits was meant to do nothing but hamstring the governor’s office and bankrupt Sarah Palin.
The endless ethics investigations were threatening to overshadow her legislative agenda. Attacks inside Alaska and largely invisible to the national media had paralyzed her administration.

She saw that if she stayed on as Governor it would continue to cost the state millions of dollars in wasted time and resources to defend against false and maliciously ethics complaints and doom it to gridlock.

Essentially, the taxpayers were paying for Sarah Palin to go to work every day and defend herself.
Those frivolous lawsuits had already cost the state of AK close to $2 million; Sarah Palin had over $600,000 dollars in legal fees.
She would fight for what is right from a different plane.

For the past three years Sarah Palin has worked tirelessly to fight Obama’s policies and elect conservatives; she was #1 in the fight!
Sarah Palin is the most vocal critique of the president. She took him on when his approval ratings were still high and no one dared say anything negative about “the messiah”.

She also basically spearheaded the 2010 victory with her endorsements and rallies all over the country.

since media is on the progressives side, no front runner at this time is good for all candidates and keeps the progressive media on it’s toes. if the ticket had ryan, rubio, or rand on it, i’d love it.

FINALLY a comment by someone who is thinking…the moment a frontrunner is chosen the media and the left (I know all the same) will open the flood gates on them…it is vital that we delay having a “candidate” for as long as possible. Can you imagine the damage that would be done if the only person the media, Obama’s team and the left had to focus on was Mitt or anyone of the other candidates…from now until November…it would be over before we ever cast a ballot!

It‘s that many people are sincerely offended by this woman’s presence in politics…she is so hopelessly and embarrassingly unqualified, annoying and, worst, divisive. It’s obvious that her main goal in life is to be a rich celebrity…she’s not a serious leader. She offends many of us because she further demeans an American political system that is in dire need of some dignity and honesty.

Palin likes the idea of a long battle for the nomination and for the life of me I don’t know why,if you don‘t know who you’re voting for by now you probably shouldn’t be allowed to vote.A long process will only help the Marxist POS because the eventual nominee will be so battered he won’t stand a chance against the Marxist POS and his supporters, the media, unions and the millions of parasites wanting something for nothing.

If there is a brokered Convention…which the chance is about 50/50 now, Palin would probably not be considered a serious candidate. She could howeverhave a small influence on who the party would pick. I like her…but not as a candidate…

Ron Paul will be the one with all the power in a brokered convention because his delegates would never leave him until he personally releases them…

That would open the door for a Marco Rubio / Rand Paul ticket maybe…

Rubio is not eligible to run for VP or POTUS. Not a natural born citizen. If he’s on the ticket, we can’t use the issue to go after obama. This will become very, very important post election when the new POTUS & congress has to undo all the damage. Obama’s status will be the “easy button” to reverse everything he has done in one fell swoop. Especially if the SCOTUS does not throw out obamacare. In a year or so, this will be a huge issue.
