Sarah Palin Slams Obama at Iowa Tea Party Rally, Doesn’t Announce 2012 Ambitions

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was again met with chants of “Run, Sarah, run!” at a Tea Party rally in Iowa Saturday, but she made no formal announcement regarding her 2012 presidential ambitions.
Palin did have harsh words for President Barack Obama and the direction she said the country has taken in his first term in office, including America’s transformation “from a nation of hope to one of anxiety.”
“Is this what you call winning the future? I call it losing the country!” she said. “Candidate Obama didn’t have a record while he was running for office, but President Obama sure does and that‘s why we’re here today,” Palin said.
She said “America is hurting” and at “a tipping point” due to “failed policies and incompetent leadership.”
“Barack Obama is adrift with no plan,” Palin said. “That hopey, changey stuff didn’t create one job in August, did it?”
Fueling additional speculation about whether she’ll join the Republican field, Palin took a few swipes at the current crop of candidates, specifically Texas Gov. Rick Perry, with a thinly-veiled comment about “GOP candidates [who] raise mammoth amounts of cash“ but ”we can’t afford more trillion-dollar thank you notes to campaign backers.”
She also set out a few ideas of her own of ways to get the country back on track, including eliminating all federal corporate income taxes, closing loopholes in the tax code, repealing the health care law and tapping America’s own natural resources for domestic energy production.
Palin’s speech marked the third-year anniversary since she was introduced to the country as Sen. John McCain’s 2008 running mate.
Taking a dig at McCain, she recalled his use of the term “hobbits” to describe members of the Tea Party during the debt ceiling debate.
“Hobbits…couldn’t understand that one!” Palin said to cheers. She also said if the Tea Party’s cuts-only approach had been followed, the U.S. would not have been “humiliated” by Standard and Poor’s credit downgrade.
Echoing some of the backlash she received during her time on the campaign trail, she cautioned the Tea Party: “You will be demonized. They’ll mock you, they’ll make things up, they’ll tell you to go to hell.”
“We’ll bite our tongue, we’ll keep it classy,” she continued. “We don’t have to say that because when we have time-tested truth and logic on our side, we win.”

Posted on September 3, 2011 at 6:27pm@SCHACHT How many times do we have to tell you. Sarah quit the governor’s office because the Rules for Radicals folks (like Obama and Hilary) were bombarding her office with lawsuits. Not just one lawsuit, but as many as they could file. She stepped out of the way in the best interests of the people of Alaska. How could she be an effective governor dealing with that? She did what was best, and went to drive the Tea Party/. Sarah is God loving and God fearing. She’s not a “globalist’ or a self edifying elitist. I have observed and analyzed most, if not all of her major public speeches. My considered conclusion is that Sarah is a political genius. She knows that the vast majority of Americans are sick to death of the current political class. By eschewing all the foolish debates and too-early shenanigans that are currently going on, she is quietly sending a message to America, and when she finally announces, she will be perceived as someone unsullied by the political system.
The result will be epic, and will start an unstoppable tsunami of support.

We should bring our TROOPS home TO secure OUR borders. Sending tens of thousands of our troops throughout the Middle East in the mayhem of religious and tyrannical nutcases, spreading our troops all over the world to bases we don’t necessarily need for any immediate or critical actions, sending our troops in harms way to foreign nations, separating our troops from their families and homeland to fight for elitists and foreign interests, never having a strategy to actually win and end the war, allowing our troops to be used by foreign nations as their personal army for the protection of their borders and streets, threatening and planning further wars without true leadership or a competent federal administration, and using limitless amounts of money to maintain this empire resulting in huge debt and uncertainty for America’s next generation, is dismantling our military and destroying our Nation.
We should not be using the lives, fortunes and sacred honor of OUR troops, that fight and have fought and died to protect US, to protect or advance the FOREIGN interests of other Nations at the expense of our Liberty, wealth and National Security.

Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. President Thomas Jefferson followed in his inaugural address, “peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none”.
President James Madison said, “If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.“ ”The means of defense against foreign danger historically have become the instruments of tyranny at home.”“No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare. ” “Of all the enemies of public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other.” “The executive has no right, in any case, to decide the question, whether there is or is not cause for declaring war.”

WILL: Today, we have a very different kind of foreign policy. It’s called Wilsonian. And the premise of the Bush Doctrine is that America must spread democracy, because our national security depends upon it. And America can spread democracy. It knows how. It can engage in national building. This is conservative or not?
BUCKLEY: It’s not at all conservative. It’s anything but conservative. It’s not conservative at all, inasmuch as conservatism doesn’t invite unnecessary challenges. It insists on coming to terms with the world as it is …”
Will then noted the radical transformation the right underwent during the Bush era: “But something odd is happening in conservatism. And we have a president and an administration that clearly is conservative, accepted as that. Yet it is nation-building in the Middle East. And conservatism seems to be saying government can’t run Amtrak, but it can run the Middle East.”
Will outlines an obviously un-conservative premise of the Bush-era right. Buckley would go on to denounce Bush as not a real conservative and, as early as 2004, would admit concerning Iraq: “If I knew then what I know now about what kind of situation we would be in, I would have opposed the war.”

Of course, Reagan was part of a generation old enough to remember conservatism’s origins. So was Buckley. In a 2007 interview with Townhall.com, just a few months before his death, Bill Steigerwald asked Buckley:
“You know who Ron Paul is — the congressman. He’s derided and discounted by many conservatives and his fellow Republicans as a kook. Yet his strong stands in favor of limited constitutional government, lower taxes, more personal freedoms and nonintervention overseas make him in many ways sound like a conservative of old — a Robert Taft, or a Coolidge kind of conservative in some ways.”
Buckley replied: “I agree.”

Posted on September 4, 2011 at 2:33am@Mil Mom Iran does not even have an AIR FORCE or missile capable of reaching us here. THEIR MILITARY IS A JOKE. Israel by itself, alone, can blast the living daylights out of them.
So, IRAN WANTS US AND ISRAEL DEAD.
OK. So what? Let them try to even make a distinct threatening move towards us and see what happens. Israel alone without our allies or us can obliterate this crummy, pesky nation to pieces. If it weren’t for our involvement in the Middle East, Israel would have already launched an attack and bombed the heck out of them! Israel has been planning to do this for years, with or without us! Iran does not even have an Air Force or missile capable of reaching us here in the US.
Let’s see. So, we stop Iran from developing a nuke. They then buy one from Russia, China, North Korea, or some small militaristic rogue group. Then what?
HOW DO YOU PREVENT THAT?
Let’s say, we attack them again. Then Russia, China, North Korea, and small militant rogue groups join in. WW3. Are you ready for that? While our troops are in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Japan, Germany, Pakistan, South Korea, etc. and not here, at home, securing our borders and protecting us?
HOW DO YOU FIGHT RUSSIA, IRAN, VENEZUELA, CUBA, CHINA, NORTH KOREA, ETC. ALL AT ONCE, while our troops are dispersed throughout the world?
YOU FORGET, Iran has allies.
The best candidate is the one that knows what’s best for the AMERICAN PEOPLE. PERIOD. Not foreign interests and other nations.

Posted on September 4, 2011 at 2:54am@Mil Mom Ron Paul is the only candidate with the best and most common sense foreign policy and national defense. His policies actually reflect that of our founding fathers and past conservative leaders. The only ones supporting the other candidates are the media, Establishment, RINOS, NeoCons, global elitists and international bankers.
The Ron Paul supporters are the ones that actually began the Tea Party! They are disgruntled voters that felt they were not being truthfully represented by the Republicans (NeoCons and RINOs) or Party Establishment. So, they began their own Party, and gathered support from conservatives, constitutionalists, libertarians, blue dog democrats and independents. They did not want to go along with the status quo. The damn media and party Establishment have hijacked the original Tea Party!

Also who is that creepy dud that move in next door to the Palins that keeps taken Photos of Sarah and her family. I do not like this kind of America and to think the only votes Obama is going to get is from the Useful Idiots just because they want a Welfare Check and they think it comes from the Democrats.
Listen up all you useful idiots – not my words – they people you idolize call you this – Obama won’t win again, but if he did win a second turn who in America would be the first eliminated from the Government tit. Welfare recipients, Illegal Aliens (Useful Idiots) – That right – the funding will be cut off and the Illegals will be sent back. He would no longer need you ever again.
I realize if your an Obama Idolizer – your probably steaming out of both ears by now – Let me ask you and I want you to use your head – is it fair for this Government to spend $100,000 just to pay one Welfare recipient $8 to $10,000 per year. The obvious answer would be NO!
Do you see room for cuts – Yes – Reagan did and he cut the waste and increased the amount Welfare Recipients get – Reagan was called a Compassionate Conservative.
Now Repeat after me – Republicans are Compassionate – Democrats take advantage of Useful Idiot

And the left. OMG why do they feel such the need to personally villainize this women. Spreading evil gossip thats clearly unfounded.
They attack her on her hair, speech, walk and lifestyle as a Christian.
Let me tell you this. Any fool who votes for a quasi marxist who was a member of a racist church built on black liberation theology over a woman who believes in the founding fathers and their judeo-Christian roots deserves to be labeled a traitor to the republic.

Everyone of us believe that SS is a blindfolded power grab. Since 1996( I was allowed to vote then) I have been a registered Libertarian. In those 15 years I have voted against every president who won office. In 2008 i voted a write in of NEITHER. So i guess that makes me a neocon/rino myself. I didn’t jump on the McCain bandwagon like you nor did I think hope and change was anything more than a ploy to win power. Sorry, but you are barking up the wrong tree. Maybe you should look at your generation and your parents generation for NEOCONS who only vote for their own self interest. Like you know you have done your entire life. Now that Libertarianism is popular people like you and Glenn Beck all want on the wagon. Sorry but, we don’t want people like you false conservative benefactor voters.

She took on the old boy politics [in her own party, mind you] and won. She is a straight-talking, no-nonsense, true patriot who doesn’t play games, loves America and you know exactly where she stands. Who cares if she couldn’t name one magazine she reads – our own prez doesn’t even know how many states there are in our great nation. She didn’t walk away from Alaska as governor. She knew she had to leave the position to prepare for a presidential run. She was smart and the leftie-boys are scared of her because she’s poised to run. It would be a hard campaign for them due to the past history of when they pick on her, her supporter numbers get bigger and bigger. They know they’d be working against themselves.

“That hopey, changey stuff didn’t create one job in August, did it?” that says it all doesn’t it! Forget everything else he pushed the hope and change lies as the basis for jobs economic stability and a change in americas perception from the world and it all to this day has yielded ZERO! Just like the jobs report!
“You will be demonized. They’ll mock you, they’ll make things up, they’ll tell you to go to hell.” So true, but its been that way since ‘08 and its now in full gear as the new narrative. The leftist proggies are backing away from the blame Bush, evil capitalists and have shifted to TEA part are terrorists and of course they are all racists. All I can tell you all on these things is throw it right back at them. Stop being nice!
I like some of the things she said but if anyone puts any value on polls, the polls say people dont want her to run. Many pundits are saying time is running out to announce ones candidacy for the primaries if she is going to get in she needs to say something. I have defended her silence, I get it (it was even some inspiration for my recent STR #18 Tactic release) she is playing this close to the chest b/c of the media and proggie vultures, but she is going to have to make a decision soon. http://SavingtheRepublic.com

Posted on September 3, 2011 at 5:53pmMy southern democrat Mom-in-law wants her to run really bad. She says, “I’ve seen a few good leaders in my life, and this lady has what it takes to be another one.’ (She’s also sick of what the democrat party has become) Winning them over folks :)

Posted on September 3, 2011 at 4:07pmI think Perry is a one of those good ol boys that‘s mad about Oblama’s policies but I think Palin is the only political person to speak for all people, all states, all genders. She reminds me of when my mom had enough of my dad’s excuses not to fix something and just fixed it herself…go Sarah.

Posted on September 3, 2011 at 4:05pmShe threw out ideas like a 0% corporate income tax, and you usually don‘t come out with specific proposals unless you’re going to try to get the ability to implement them.

The Tea Party Started In 2007 And Ron Paul Is The Godfather http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bNiDx7qTjA
Palin put a Christian twist to it and immediately drew the ire of progressives.

Posted on September 3, 2011 at 3:57pmI liked the part where she took on the good old boys club
you know the politico hacks in both parties and
how they claim to do stuff for you
then you see they fall way short …
yeah they go on vacation after increasing the debt by trillions and
cutting it by millions over 10 years …
then turn around and blame the Tea Party …for what they did!
If we want change in this country
we have to change the way we look at these candidates and
we have to do our part and ask the tuff questions
that aren’t being asked by media!
Repubs have a great field to choose from but
there are a couple of skunks in the wood pile and
it is our job to flush them out!
due diligence is on us individually
we failed in 08
lets step up in ‘012
let’s do it right
as it may just be our last opportunity to do so!
I think you left out the best parts of her speech
Report Post »anyone who saw it would say
she was right on point with the American voter at this point!
I really thought it was right on, right on, right on!

Posted on September 3, 2011 at 3:56pmI really love the way Sarah can put what we feel in words that bite. Her take no prisoners turns some off, But I love it. If she was not so hated by the left we could easily elect her and have someone in the white house who loves this country and would get it ramped up from where Obama has left it. He has deliberatly tried to destroy this country, to try to push socialism on the dependant folks the left has created, but we will not tolerate it, and we are in for a rough time. God bless Sarah, keep speaking up sister, no matter what crap they through at you!
