LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) — Satellite image provider DigitalGlobe Inc. has released photos that it says show Syrian army tanks and other armored vehicles in the city of Homs.
DigitalGlobe says the images were taken Friday in the late morning Syrian time.
Stephen Wood, director of DigitalGlobe’s analysis center, says some of the photos show armored vehicles near apartment buildings.
The Syrian government has been trying to suppress an 11-month-old uprising.
Wood says the photos were taken by DigitalGlobe’s WorldView 2 satellite from about 480 miles above the Earth.
DigitalGlobe is based in Longmont, Colo., and sells satellite imagery and analysis to clients that include the U.S. military, emergency response agencies and private companies.
The company has three orbiting satellites, and a fourth is under construction.

With regards to tanks: Got a youtube video yesterday of a looooong loooong trainload of tanks here in the US being sent out West!! …Wonder what is up!?!?!? …Hmmm, getting ready for a collapse maybe, border war, or getting serious with Christians & Conservatives??? (or perhaps a Marxist takeover??)
Seriously though: This DOES make one wonder what is REALLY going on!!!!!

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 3:26pmSyria is doing what all Arab/Muslim “governments” have been doing for thousands and thousands of years: “He who murders the most the fastest is the anointed one by Allah.” Life means nothing in Arab/Muslim societies. Power, and the free exercise thereof is the only thing that is respected. Much the same thing is happening right now in Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, etc., etc., etc., and always has.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 9:36amTo the Syrian public:
The easiest way to destroy a tank is this…
1) Get a sack or gallon sized jug.
2) Fill it with scrap aluminum shavings and rust, lots of rust.
3) Attach a fuse.
4) Make sure it doesn’t look like something harmful.
5) Get as close to the tank as you can, light the fuse and toss it anywhere on top of the tank.
The results should be a fire hot enough to melt through their armor and and can possibly cause a loss of tank mobility or complete destruction if it gets into the munitions or fuel. Of course, this could possibly be a suicide mission, but if your own gov’t is threatening you with death, then what do you have to lose?

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 12:53pmOh no, tanks on trains and dear lord Blackhawks attacking the Bank of America building. What could these two things have in common. Oh wait there is a tank in Syria and it’s blowing up the town it is stationed in. Ahh I see so these tanks and helicopters here in America must be for the same purpose. Tanks, planes, helicopters, guns, are just equipment none of these things by themselves can do you any harm, what matters is the people operating them. I trust the young men that signed up to defend our country not to turn these weapons on us, while I am sure there are some put in place to do so on whole there is not many of them “yet” and I doubt they would be very bright because you have to be a dumbass to attack your own countrymen. But comparing a tank in Syria actively shelling it’s own countrymen, to one in America that’s driving around is silly.

Report Post »U.S. Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford praising the protesters for their demands for freedom without knowing who these protesters are. The Obama administration seems to be pushing for another military involvement in Syria like the one in Libya. The Obama administration seems to be boldly wanting to get us involved in the internal affairs of another Islamic uprising.
This is just the deflection Obama needs to keep the public away from his miserable record. Obama will use our troops as pawns, and to his advantage in this election year.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 7:34amAnother American made comedy of who are the bad guys and who are the good guys. Once more the ministry of Truth of the American State is whipping up the war fever and urging a bankrupt nation to spend untold billions on another useless war. When will Americans wake the hell up and see how we are lied to constantly; Ron Paul is the only one that sees the truth; pull all of US troops out whereever they are in the world, if Arabs want to do something about Syria by all means let them but keep us out.

Maybe they are wanting Syria to get so out or control, that Israel would attack, then that would be something else that the U.S. could hold against that nation. Watch the other hand, cause this whole thing smell very fishy.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 2:27amJust my opinion…but everyone here in the US should watch what’s happening in Syria very closely. There are unspoken reasons why Obama isn’t trying to intervene in Syria like he did in Lybia and Egypt. I think there are powers who want to be able to do the same thing as Assad. Maybe they are content at watching Assad as a learning experience. What we see happening there is what could very easily happen here in the near future. Obama forces vs the American people. I wonder who will win.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 3:22amIf our government tried the same thing the American people would win. We have the largest armed populus in the world. There are more armed citizens in this county than all the branches of the military put together. That‘s not to say that there wouldn’t be massive casualties though.
Report Post »That being said, having just gotten out of the Corps within the last year, I’m fairly certain that most in the military will side with American civilians before total loyalty to the government. Policies in this county affect them as well, and they’ve been hurt as much as everyone else. That and American military members aren’t fanatic drones like some in other countries, and have a natural aversion to harming civilians.

Report Post »The president will say you are a terrorist and the military will shoot you. Did anyone in the military complain about the unconstitutional use of force in Libya? No. In Katrina they disarmed the people. In the LA Riots, they surveyed Marines about firing on American citizens and 95% said they would. They didn’t think twice about Killing al-alwiki and crew. Terrorism is the catch phrase they will use to kill whomever they desire. Besides, the majority of our troops are overseas. Don’t be surprised when all the Air guard units in the us which are in the process of switching to predator and reaper drones start flying regularly over your neighborhood, as cleared by the new FAA bill they just passed.

The so called citizens could be getting paid by the brotherhood to do this or being promised something great for helping the brother hood win.
