Saturday Night Live Does Rick Perry‘s Debate ’Oops’

Saturday Night Live Does Rick Perrys Debate Oops

NBC

Saturday Night Live spoofed Rick Perry’s “oops” moment from Wednesday’s GOP presidential debate, with the Texas governor desperately grasping for the name of the third department he would eliminate as president.

Touching briefly first on the sexual harassment allegations made against Herman Cain in recent weeks, Keenan Thompson as Cain said there’s been “no inconsistency” in his response to the accusations.

“There’s been no inconsistency, my story’s never changed. To recap: I forgot. Then I was reminded. Then I remembered. And then I forgot having remembered. And then pizza break,” he said. “And one thing is, for every woman that has come forward, there are two that have not.”

But it was Perry’s memory lapse that received the most attention: First quoting the slip-up nearly verbatim, Bill Hader continued to struggle for the correct department, peeling off his jacket and revealing cut-off shirt sleeves in the heat of the moment.

“C’mon man, I said oops,” he said when pressed for the answer by the debate moderator. Tapping his head, he moaned and asked, “Why is this so hard? It’s up there somewhere, I can feel it dancing around.”

“Can we just move on? I want to be president but not like this,” pleaded Jason Sudeikis’ Mitt Romney. Cain offered to provide more harassment allegation details just to take the heat off Perry, and Andy Samberg as Rick Santorum wept at the whole debacle.

The sketch ended with a nod to “Of Mice and Men,” with Romney attempting to put Perry out of his misery — but providing just the jolt he needed to remember the long-lost department.

no, lets instead have more liars, flip floppers, and woman abusers. Rick Perry is the man with the record. Thats why Glen Beck had said he would be trouble for Washington. So you wrote something on red state, anyone can do that. Try doing what Perry has done, created more Jobs than the rest of the country combined almost.

Oh man that was funny! I’m glad that he will not be president any time soon. He should have secured the border and not give in state tuition to illegals. I’m all for having immigrants come here but we have a legal process to do so and Gov. Perry ignores this.

Kinda unfortunate when the masses choose to bring attention to something so – in the grand scheme of things – meaningless. Yet, the onward march of Marxism goes intentionally unnoticed and unreported.

But, I guess it’s to the point where the stooges in the White House have gone from comical to really pathetic and sad.

C’mon folks, lighten up. It is painful to watch these debates, whether they are manipulated or not. Some of the candidates do not have a clue and even though I once loved the idea of Mr. Perry in office, not so much anymore. He isn’t ready for a national role with major decision making. Not because of what he hasn’t done in the debates but the obvious lack of knowledge that he has about world affairs. Why can’t we laugh at ourselves? In reality, Mr. Perry represents how most of us are, self conscious, not slick, with some information but unable to produce it when under stress. I still love him as a person; as a President? No. But I will also say that I will vote for anyone other than Obummer.

Rick Perry is as shallow as the Grand Canyon. Anyone with a brain can see that. The guy is corny ..he says I‘m a do’er not a talker …really?? I’m hoping he save face by quitting because even he know he has no chance of winning…

You are so correct. That clip was funny to the core. SNL has always presented skits no matter who they are. If we can’t laugh, then we lose our sense of humor and the world gets angrier. I actually think their depiction of each of the candidates was quite correct. The candidate that comes out on top will have to take a lot of SNL, so they better start laughing at themselves now.

I see the SNL as a bunch of liberal hacks. They can, and will, continue to make conservatives look like dummies. The reason they can do it over and over again. The GOP establishment is weak and have no guts. If you are a conservative and not a RINO like them. you will not be defended by them. They will not help shield you from the liberal lies.

Remember sheeple “don’t throw your vote away”. LOL!

I laugh every time I hear that phrase – it makes all the sheeple jump right in line and support the nominee that was pre-selected in the back room deals before the primaries.

You guys can’t see that the republican party has already pre-selected either Romney or Gingrich? Since when do you let the power brokers choose your candidate? Can’t you think for yourselves?

Ron Paul 2012. None of these other democrat wannabees could ever get my vote. Romney? Might as well be Obama. Gingrich? Might as well be Obama. A slow burn is still a burn. Perry? Ha!

Why is it you are determined the Republicans have pre-selected Romney after having run him into the ground last election because he refused to scratch the establishments back like the rest of RINO’s did ?? Mitt, because he had his own money, because he is a man loyal to his faith morals, and because he wasn’t like the huckster, Gulliani, McCain, and that other RINO, the establishment made sure he wouldn’t make it into office. The establishment may be supporting Mitt this round, but it is only because they HOPE he is their best chances at keeping some of their power, not know he is because he was bought and paid for by the establishment.
Look, Ron Paul would be my first choice, that is, after Rubio if he was running, but honestly, he would be if I thought there was a chance in heck he could win. However, because I am in college at 36, after having already lived a quite eventful life to this point, I understand there is just to great a divide in this nation right now for Paul to be elected. The issues facing America are far more complex than just the black and white at this point and if America isn’t first untangled before she is put back in order, I assure you we will be in far worse shape than we are now. I am talking a total revolt and collapse. Personally, I have no problem with the scenario, I am fully able to survive anywhere through anything, but far to many are not. Romney will start the ball rolling, in the mean time, put the effort where it counts, congress

      Under water grottos, caverns
      Filled with apes
      That eat figs.
      Stepping on the figs
      That the apes
      Eat, they crunch.
      The apes howl, bare
      Their fangs, dance,
      Tumble in the
      Rushing water,
      Musty, wet pelts
      Glistening in the blue.

Today the New York Times is running a front page “news” ( most are opinion pieces just posing on the front page as news ) about Romney today entitled ” After Romney Deal, Profits then Lay Offs.” Hey, SNL : Romney is now the Left’s Target Du Jour . You are so behind the “times” – literally as well as figuratively. ( guess we know who will be the butt of your jokes next week ! pssst: Hey, Gail Collins, time to run that “dog on the top of the car” jab for the zillionth times ! oh, how the lefties love that canine tale ! ) And so The Obama Campaign Train fueled by character assassination and mockery just keeps on rollin’ along in the MSM….
