Saudi Electricity Company: Saudi Arabia May Run Out of Oil by 2030

Saudi Electricity Company: Saudi Arabia May Run Out of Oil by 2030Saudi Arabia may be running out of oil. In a recent article in El Economista magazine, Abdel Salam al-Yamani, a public affairs official for the Saudi Electricity Company, voiced concern over Saudi Arabia’s current supply:

The electricity company of Saudi Arabia has set off alarms to warn that oil in this country could be depleted by 2030 if left unchecked domestic consumption. According to a report of this company, it is estimated between 2.5 and 3.4 million barrels a day.

The report, published in the magazine Al Mashka of the company itself says that the increase in domestic consumption of oil is one of the main challenges facing the country, mainly because oil accounts for 80% of national income.

Abdel Salam al-Yamani, head of the Saudi Electricity Company company also warned of the consequences for citizens to ignore the calls to save electricity and water, and has advised that they depend more on solar energy.

Back in February, The Guardian reported on some Wikileaks documents which indicated that Saudi Arabia’s reserves have been overestimated and that oil capacity is something to be concerned about:

The cables, released by WikiLeaks, urge Washington to take seriously a warning from a senior Saudi government oil executive that the kingdom’s crude oil reserves may have been overstated by as much as 300bn barrels – nearly 40%.

The revelation comes as the oil price has soared in recent weeks to more than $100 a barrel on global demand and tensions in the Middle East. Many analysts expect that the Saudis and their Opec cartel partners would pump more oil if rising prices threatened to choke off demand.

Earlier today, with OPEC refusing to raise official production rate, Saudi Arabia decided to boost production on its own. The Middle Eastern nation will substantially increase its own production to help bridge divides created by the Libyan crisis. This move is being looked at as a direct slap to Iran (Iran blocked Saudi Arabia’s attempt to raise production this year). Below, MSNBC asks if Saudi Arabia can bring the cost of oil down:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

If these reports are true, though, Saudi Arabia is limited in terms of how much the nation can boost productivity. In the longterm, oil supplies may be depleted, thus causing shortages and skyrocketing prices.

Yet another reason we need to drill domestically, tap out Natural Gas and build 50-100 new Nuclear Plants…. with China now moving into the #1 energy user spot, they will continue to grow and gobble up all of the Middle East resources, meanwhile Russia is monopolizing all energy transport lines into Europe and they will have a strangle hold on Europe to threaten them by cutting off fuel if Europe doesn‘t bow to Russia’s demands (welcome to Eastern Bloc 2.0)

So we need to become energy independent now, we need to drill now, tap resources now, build new breeder reactor nuclear plants now… because in 2-5 years most of that will be into out pipelines and reserves, in 10 years we could have 50-100 new nuclear plants… gonna need a lot of electricity for all of those all electric vehicles you know…

Stop delaying and stop saying “well even if we drill now, it won’t make a difference for several years” even more so a reason to start immediately so that yes, in a few years when energy is even more scarce, the US energy will then be available, when China runs out of energy, when its own economy collapses onto itself in a few years, the US will stand tall, energy independent, manufacturing strong, by then the whole country should be completely Right to Work, and the end of Union destruction of this country will be dead, and Capitalism will once again be Boss!

It was not an “All-weather” aircraft or designed to fly at night. They flew at night anyway and used the I.R. seeker on the AGM-65 as a poor mans Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR) device to see hot tanks at night. The A-10 could do it all.One pilot even shot down an Iraqi helicopter.

Oil is an abiotic substance – it is NOT a fossil fuel. Below 30,000 in the Earth, there are literal oceans of oil. It functions as a shock-absorber, to keep torsional forces created by our counter rotating outer-core (made up of liquid nickel and sodium, rotating about our iron inner core) from shaking the planet’s mantles and crust to pieces. The rotation of that semi-liquid nickel and sodium mass around our iron core is what produces the electromagnetic field that keeps us from baking like a potato as we otherwise would – that field deflects deadly solar and cosmic radiation.

The spongier upper and lower mantles absorb a lot of the forces and cushion our tectonic plates, which all have seams (mid ocean ridges) and many thousands of smaller plates – the first have great mass to provide stability and the smaller ones are like expansion joints in roads.

The mid ocean ridges serve as pressure release points, insulated and cooled by many sextillion tons of water, which hold the deadly gases in suspension and prevent their release as vapor that would kill us. Periodic quakes and volcanoes serve as pop-off valves to release excess pressure – hence the ancient stones in Japan, and Israel which read: “Do not build your house lower than this line” (of course we do and we pay for it….)

We have a role, too… we’re SUPPOSED to consume oil, and natural gases. God gave us all the cheap energy we would ever need and if you review the above, you will easily see God’s hand.

Nobody knows jack about the reserves other than the exploration experts and neither they nor the governments will EVER tell us the truth because in all likelihood if they did they wouldn’t be able to substantiate the prices they now get away with charging for crude oil.

I‘d bet there’s literally oceans of oil in our globe’s core and it would take 200 lifetimes to deplete the oceans were they filled with crude, as there’s 343 quintillion gallons, or put another way, 343 billion BILLION gallons. It’s all a sham.

The only reason we really buy oil from the impoverished middle east is to ‘spread the wealth around’ and nothing more. I‘d bet my soul there’s enough reserves in America alone to supply us for at least a couple hundred years as I’m one who believes that oil regenerates far quicker than scientists claim.

Look how correct they all are on Global warming… I just take what they tell us, turn it on it’s head, and that’s usually the truth. Just apply that to Weinergate and that proves my point.

North America has vast oil resources that we haven’t even touch because our friends the Democrats feel the need to turn those areas into national parks or national monuments. Actually they have unlimited oil because their wells are being fed by an underground process DEEP in the earth. Oil is made by a chemical process and not from fossil remains. The Russians have these super depth wells approx 6 miles down and the psi of the product coming to the surface is about 70,000. The oil is very light and is considered very desirable for refining it is also called Abiotic Oil. It is being discovered at 30,000 feet and below the mantle which is far below any fossil remains may be. The BP oil well in the gulf was 30,000 feet or 6 miles down and they hit the largest reserve ever! The pressure was so high everything failed! We have been told oil will run out.. Thats actually not true. The Soviet scientists tried drilling into the“basement” and got mostly gas and immense pressure. There was a guy from Cornell that did the same thing and got 50 barrels of oil. Petroleum is produced chemically over vast amounts of time and pressure. No, it was not the dino’s. The reason abiotic oil is most likely false, is because at a certain temperature oil molecules crack and it turns to natural gas. Therefore it is unlikely that petroleum can exist at extreme depths because of the pressure/heat. They have found oil at depths deeper than before in recent times but it was attributed to geological conditions similar to shallower depths.
I wish the Earth had a petroleum factory deep below. The chemical reactions petroleum goes through when heated is hard science and demonstrable and makes it unlikely that the Earth “makes its own oil”.

Try as we may the best we can do is produce about half of what we did in 1970. I know BO is anti drilling but dont you think the 8 years of reagan, and 12 years of bush 1 and 2 would have gave us more oil if it was just a matter of drilling more wells or opening the valve? Oil is a finite resourse folks and our demand for it has just about surpassed the ability to extract it.

Do you think more drilling for oil is in America is a good idea? Do you think using the hundreds of years of coal and natural gas we have would be a good idea to exploit? Or should we follow this administrations policies giving us no back-up plan? This administration has less than zero COMMON SENSE. We sent disenters their to be tortured then berate them for their human rights abuses. Then we hypocritically claim that they themselves are terrorists. No one is as dishonable as the americans in their dealings with arabs.[and other people too].Americans don’t drill for oil at home because the policy is to let everyone else run out first so we can then take over the world.

Iran blocked Saudi’s push to increase production in OPEC which never happen and only happened due to Iran presiding over OPEC this year.

A release of “smaller oil reserves” will lower world supply increasing price and increasing demand for more oil to lower the price.

Do oil wells not dry up ? Can oilfields dry up ? Can any country deplete their resources ?

The answer to all three is a resounding YES !

It took millions of years for mother nature to produce that oil and we are using it up at an alarming rate…. we do have to find another source of fuel (liquid or solid) and the sooner the better. The real problem is that we have made it all a political football or really a “hot potato”.

Energy IS one of the reasons we need to get off of the SEX gates, golf, White House Beer Parties, apology tours and continuous campaign modes. We have some problems that need serious attention from ADULT elected officials, and time is running out.

I always figured that we were holding our reserves until the rest of the world was drained and then we have more control……. just thinking here.

I have lived in the country most of my life. Oil is like water. Our water well would go dry. Sometimes when a well goes dry IT NEVER COMES BACK. The return rate of a well determines the quality of the supply. In reality oil does not have a return rate as it takes millions of years to produce by natural processes. Once you drain an oil well you may have some residual seeping but it will never “COME BACK” to the original pocket.

My point is………. oil IS NOT a renewable resource and we can run out.

Are these reports from our best buddies true, who knows? But if we know what is good for us we will not only drill but also find some other energy source to satisfy our desire to be mobile.

The Saudi’s are well known for fudging there reserves. In fact, many oil producing nations over state the amount of oil they have simply because it is money in the bank. Every year the Saudi’s pump more and more seawater into Ghawar, the largest domestic oil field ever discovered, to force the oil out of the source rock. It peaked in production in the 80′s at about 5.5 million barrels per day. This really is old and expected news.
Saudi Arabia is expected to raise production next month to 10 million barrels a day which will ease supply issues. They are moving against OPEC’s wishes to keep production static. Why? I suspect they realize that if you allow supply to get to tight, it de-stabilizes the market causing a yo yo effect. Demand suddenly falls and they lose a lot of revenue. It happened in 2008, the 80‘s after the the oil shocks of the late 70’s and less notable times.
You can bet that this article is probably true. This is not the first or the last time someone will question Saudi reserves. They will not “run dry”, production will just drop to insignificant levels, at some point in the future.

For those who think peak oil is a hoax, it is not. I’m not talking about the doom and despair crowd a quick google search will provide. Peak production of any given oil well is when the production percentage of a well starts to fall, it has peaked. In some cases, depending on the shape and geological features of a well, adjustments can be made to boost production at least temporarily.
The real pertinent issue is the number of new finds keeping up with demand.
That said, I’m not going to far down the rabbit hole of oil production. Instead, read about M. King Hubbert who came up with a mathematical bell curve to estimate energy reserves. Or read about whats known as the oil kitchen, where oil is formed and at what depths. Read how petroleum can turn to natural gas because temperatures are to great, literally cracking the hydro-carbon molecule. Understand that this means the theory of abiotic oil is most likely false. Read how oil was formed (hint: It was not the dinosaurs). Read about how much oil the world produces and how much we use. Understand the different types of petroleum. Learn about shale oil and the difficulties associated with it. Find out that the US has potentially the largest field of Shale in the world and this is good news.
Just read, it affects your life every day, not just at the pump. Mass food production depends greatly on fertilizer and pesticides that are made from petroleum.
