‘Say Hello to 1984’: Beck Explores the Frightening New World of Big Brother Technology

Glenn Beck Talks About 1984 & Big Brother TechnologyGlenn Beck devoted much of his show Wednesday to the growing surveillance technology in the U.S., drawing comparisons to 1984 and Big Brother.

Among the developments that are cause for alarm: President Barack Obama’s proposal earlier this month for a national ID card for the online community, where instead of having different accounts and passwords for different sites, there would be an “identity ecosystem” that would centralize personal information and credentials through the government.

There’s also the “Media Monitoring Initiative” — the Department of Homeland Security’s OK to collect information from journalists or anyone who uses “traditional and/or social media in real time to keep audiences aware and informed” — and the Congress-proposed “Internet kill switch” that would shut down private sector or government networks in the event of a cyber attack.

“You can see the Internet is a very big concern for those in power,” Beck said. “Why? Because they do not control it.”

Other points of discussion: A recent article on whether Google has the responsibility to stop the spread of “fringe” beliefs on the Internet, including: 9/11 truthers, people who believe HIV and AIDS aren’t linked, global warming deniers and those who oppose the Darwinian account of evolution. And don‘t forget the search engine giant’s recent announcement of new changes to their privacy policy, which users are forced to accept.

A few more security concerns: The capability for using passports photos in facial recognition software — the reason you’re instructed to keep a neutral face — and the possibility for someone using the right equipment to steal credit card and identification information even from several blocks away.

“Say hello to 1984,” Beck said.

If your looking for a job… most are strict about signing an application online and most force you to use Linkdin and Facebook. Which as you if they can post in your name.. in brief use your account, have access for your account. I would like to see a lawyer start taking companies to court on privacy of a citizen of USA. I would also like to see the SSN laws being enforced. There should not be a request of a SSN to be used for hire. Exception would be top secret or secret and after a hire is in process.

Will you people Realize this has NOTHING to do with the Democrats, Republicans, Obama or the Bushes.
This has to do with a 1933 Bankruptcy !!!!

WE are victims of the CRIME of the CENTURY !!!!!
Income Tax Started in 1913 due to a Loan to the U.S. from a Private Bank; The Federal Reserve.
It is NO MORE FEDERAL than FEDERAL EXPRESS.
Before 1913, our federal government operated on import tariffs.
In 1933 we defaulted on that loan and had to declare bankruptcy.
The Gov‘t gave the Bank all it’s Gold but it wasn’t enough.
The Gov‘t demanded that it’s people give all the gov‘t it’s gold, to give to the Bank. It wasn’t Enough.
The government then had to resort to pledgeing land it‘s gov’t agencies and branches (Including executive, judicial and legislative ) and most importantly, it’s PEOPLE !!!!
      WHAT !!!!!!
      HOW !!!!!
Social Security became law in 1936, these are interest-bearing securities (Social Security)
held by the receivers of the Bankruptcy.
We have been Bankrupt ever since and lied to, ever since.
The Democrat vs Republican politican paradigm is a distraction and lie.
95% of them work for the Corporation.
93 of 100 Senators voted in favor of NDAA.
      Only 3 republicans opposed.
The 3 Democrats and 1 Indepenent that opposed are also patriotic representatives of the people.
The U.N.‘s IMF gained control of America’s federal Government in 1944, and became the U.N. in 1945.

A recent study conducted by a German university found very high concentrations of glyphosate, a carcinogenic chemical found in herbicides like Monsanto’s Roundup, in all urine samples tested.

The amount of glyphosate found in the urine was staggering, with each sample containing concentrations at 5- to 20-fold the limit established for drinking water.

This is just one more piece of evidence that herbicides are, at the very least, being sprayed out of control.

Glyphosate in Monsanto’s Roundup Impacting Global Health

This news comes only one month after it was found that glyphosate, contained in Monsanto’s Roundup, is contaminating the groundwater in the areas in which it is used. What does this mean?

It means that toxic glyphosate is now polluting the world’s drinking water through the widespread contamination of aquifers, wells and springs. The recent reports of glyphosate showing up in all urine samples only enhances these past findings.

Monsanto continues to make the claim that their Roundup products are completely safe for both animals and humans. However, many environmentalists, scientists , activists, and even doctors say otherwise.

In New Jersey military helicopter gun ships fly regular patrols 24/7 over our neighborhoods. I have tried to identified these gun ships with binoculars but they are unmarked and do not have tail numbers that can be seen. They fly very low all the time at tree level. Their schedules are predictable. Since the are unmarked they could be foreign military gun ships, how would we know. I have used Google Earth to search US military bases within 100 miles and none have any helicopters that can be seen. All of the US Navy and Air Force bases don’t have any aircraft and that scares me.

For Some Reason, Many TEA Party Meetings Are Switching From Private Places To Public Libraries. WHY?

Public Libraries all have video surveillance cameras. Libraries are government buildings where recording devices can be placed in gathering rooms. When I attend these meetings, I wear a scarf around my face and pull the battery out of my cell phone. I have always believed in making the spies job harder at spying.

We are fast becoming a Guided Democracy, where we have the ILLUSION of freedom, the ILLUSION of the right to vote, but our candidates are chosen for us with the goal of nothing changes.

In that first clip, Glenn talks about our military being replaced by independent contractors. that phrase, “Independent Contractors,” is how businesses get around hiring illegal aliens. I know, I’ve seen it. They hire them as independent contractors, responsible for their own social security in put, their own taxes, etc. as a person working for themselves. They don’t check their SS#’s, they pay them cash, and just leave it to them to pay their taxes. With the military being replaced by these “Independent Contractors” congress doesn’t have control either. Makes one wonder who does? Our enemies know this, why do you think so many of them are captured and accused of spying?

I Hope Glenn And TheBlaze Readers Realize That The Government Records Every Phone Call In The US If Not The World.

NSA has the technology available to record every phone call in America and if they have the technology they are doing it. When Tanya Harding arranged for her boyfriend to attack Nancy Karington at a winter Olympics, the Government was able to produce phone calls made at pay phones during the planning before the crime was committed. In NJ a Exxon Executive Russo was kidnapped and held for ransom in a storage locker. After the crime was discovered, the Government was able to produce phone calls from pay phones and private phones that were made in the planning of the crime before it happen. How could this have been done?

NSA has gigantic communications intellegence satellites in orbit as big as houses that are really orbiting data switching centers. These CI satellites are capable of recording every cell phone call being made on earth. Other nations also have this capability too.

      Check it out.

I’m all for getting out of foreign conflicts that have little or nothing to do with US interests, but Ron Paul takes it too far. He‘s shown that he simply doesn’t understand the threat that radical Islam poses to the United States and the rest of the free world. There’s nothing that we can do that will stop them from trying to destroy Israel and kill us “satanist” infidels who live here in the US, so what we must do to ensure our safety is to have a strong and vigorous military and to keep Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

I look at foreign policy in a micro-security way; would “you” rather fight/contain gang members in the “high crime” neighborhoods where they grow, form and fester or wait until they are 20 of them breaking down the door to your home in the “low crime” neighborhood and then play defense? Like in sports, defense is used to maintain the status quo (just don’t get scored on) if the score is already 0-3 and all you do is play defense, you will loose. I’ll take the first option thank-you.

My dear brothers & sisters, this IS the truth of the matter…ALL these things are a very real possibility & every scenerio is ready to boil over at a moment’s notice. Will it be one scenerio, two, three, or a domino effect involving all of them? This year will reveal the beginning, they have all reached a ‘critical mass’ if you will. Take heed though, it’s not bullets, land, or well laid plans that will save anyone. It will be only your faith in Heavenly Father & His son Jesus Christ. Get right with God, both heart & mind! Where your thoughts are there will your heart be as well. If your faith isn’t strong you could very well fall by the wayside from fear & material needs & spiritual weakness. Get yourself right with God so that you will hear the Holy Ghost when the warning voice tells you when to flee & where to go to find God’s people & dwell where HIS power is in their midst. Nothing else will matter & DO NOT turn back for anything when that voice comes to you…or you stand suffering much in the same manner as Lot’s wife did in the Old Testament. Obey the commandments & love your neighbor, whether they be blind to the truth or not, blind to their own sins. Only in this humbleness of heart will you be purified & guaranteed a warning voice. And YES, it is right around the corner, you all of faith feel it in your soul because that same Spirit testifies of it to you. The power of God will deliver you through the coming tribulation, & only the power of God.

Hi Fed! My name is Robert Pemberton from Utah and I’m planning on buying a gun in the next couple weeks. I already own a shotgun and ammo, have about 3 months supply of food (working on that).

Ah yes, GB the conspiracy theorist. It’s okay for him to indulge in conspiracies, but if anyone else does (AJ/RP) then they’re nuts, crazy, and on the fringe. You Dopes! Wake UP! GB is a total hypocrite. AJ has been warning about an Orwellian Society for a decade or so! Santorum would march us right into more of a 1984 state than we currently experience. It seems Glenn has a thing for re-education camps. Notice how he always acts as if he is THE ONLY teacher. Why dont you share your real findings on Fema camps!?

To most people war is a supreme evil to be avoided if at all possible. And yet, we go right on having wars. To those who rule nations, war is a tool of power which is used deliberately. War provides the perfect excuse for a government to impose increased controls on its own people. By citing ‘national security’ the government can persuade the people that even highly dictatorial controls are for their own good.

Thanks for the link. Will check it out. For something more specific about war The Art of War clearly explains that war is “simply” a political tool. A sub-point is War is a Racket by U.S.M.C – Smedley Butler. He wrote a couple great books on the topic from his own experiences in the Corpse.

This is all Domestic Issues. Which man running for R Candidate is MOST revered on Domestic Policy? Hint, the Constitution does not allow for 1984 type government control.

    Obama is FOR it.
    Romney is FOR it.
    Santorum is FOR it.

Paul is opposed. BUT, too many still freak out over his foreign policy.

Doesnt matter if Iran has a nuke if we lose our state from within.

The chances of Iran getting a nuke and using its are still pretty slim.

The chances of “big government” people taking all of our freedoms and turning us into a police state are very high. Who are the big government people? Obama, Romney, Gingrich and Santorum are all for more government control.

      Ron Paul 2012!!!

He will get my vote no matter why. If you want to get rid of Obama’s policies which are pretty much the same as the other three candidates he is the only real choice.

i agree that ron paul is the best candidate, and i want him to win. but RP could do with a little tweeking on his foreign policy. U.S needs to return to being a watchdog power, where we have forces keeping an eye on those 130 other countries. we need a chance to heal and take care of our own, and maintain a boogyman-type of front to the rest of the world where other countries look at us and go “dont piss them off or they will beat the crap out of us” instead of “americans are greedy d-bags.”
we also need to come back as a nation that other countries look up to and want to be. obama has apologized to every other major country we deal with for our “fault” and made us look weak in the eyes of both our allies and enemies. he is a failure as a potus and as an american, if you can even credit him as one.
and santorem is a communist. he would place policies that would violate at least half of the bill of rights alone because he believes “there is no such thing as privacy.” and i’m still dissapointed in beck for supporting him even personally.

Are you really going to trust something like this… this massive infrastructure of surveillance and control… to Mitt Romney? Newt Gingrich? Rick Santorum? Barack Obama?

None of these men have ever spoken out against central control or a police state. It is highly unlikely that they would do the only thing that SHOULD and MUST be done to this digital, automated tyranny… destroy it.

A vote for anyone but Ron Paul is a vote for your children in bondage. Who cares what his foreign policy is – if our homeland isn’t recovered, it won’t matter if Iran builds a nuke. It won’t matter at all.

PLEASE stop collectivism. It’s time. Our parents passed it to us. Their parents passed it to them. I will not pass it to my children.

we’ve been there for the past 70 years. the technology has brought the situation to the point that there has to be a change in the way the “government” implements it’s “control” over the populace, that is to say, the “shadow government” is coming out of the closet and will do things in the light of the day. In spiritual terms, this is the infrastructure that needs to be in place for the enemy of your soul (anti-christ) to have his seven years.

I have been in the “telecommunications ”industry for over 30 years and I can tell you that everything word you have said over a telephone of any kind has been “screened” for many years. Every e-mail every blog comment any electronic communication of any kind is at least screened and in many cases archived. IMO in today’s world its necessary. The camera’s and face recognition stuff on public streets and the GPS monitoring are IMO another story.
What I find really ironic is while many of us are screaming to get rid of or greatly reduce the Postal Service it is has become the only secure way people can communicate across town or country. In the future or sooner big brother will figure out how to read the letters as well but for now we probably should lay off the USPS.

What you mean we weren’t already in an Orwellian Nightmare? I thought this stuff was old news, but apparently some people are just now waking up to the fact. I mean the National Identification Act passed in 2008, after the Patriot Act went through. In case you don‘t know once the NIA gets implemented EVERY American will be required to carry a Nat’l ID to prove your an American citizen of course you have to use it for almost everything then.
