Scarborough: ‘Terminally Stupid Ideologues’ Should ‘Stop Using the Tea Party as a Piñata’

Following Senator John Kerry’s outburst Sunday in which he referred to the S&P downgrade as the “Tea Party Downgrade,” Joe Scarborough fought back on his Monday episode of ”Morning Joe.“ The host called on ”terminally stupid ideologues“ that ”really don’t understand” anything because they’re “so dogmatic [they] can’t think for [themselves]“ to ”stop using the Tea Party as a piñata.”

Here’s how he started off:

I am not blaming the President exclusively. We have blamed the Tea Partiers here for not moving. We have blamed Republicans. We have blamed Democrats as well. But please – I know it makes you feel better, but, you know, stop using the Tea Party as a piñata. We’ve got systemic problems in this country. The President could have done something for two years when he had Democrats controlling the House of Representatives and controlling the United States Senate. He did nothing on entitlement reform. [Emphasis added]

According to NewsBusters, Scarborough went on to assert that, contrary to what the liberal media presented, President Obama never offered cuts to entitlement programs in his “grand bargain.” NewsBusters adds:

More importantly according to Scarborough, Obama knew full well that Democrats in Congress would never have go along with any cuts to entitlement programs thereby making this “offer” a cynical one the President knew would never go anywhere.

In Scarborough’s view, Republicans would have been wise to call the President’s bluff, agree in principle to raising revenues, and then allow the entire deal to be scuttled by Democrat intransigence over Social Security and Medicare reform.

Instead, by Republicans backing away from the poker table with a clearly winning hand, the Democrats and the White House have been able to blame everything on them and in particular the Tea Party while demagoguing Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) for having offered the only budget that attempted to solve our long-term fiscal problems.

  Terminally stupid is a good way to put it. These fools are so blinded by ideology that they actually believed people would believe it when they blamed the Tea Party?! How can they blame the Tea Party when they all said not to pass the bill. That’s like blaming the “DANGER: THIN ICE” sign for the drowning of a child that chose to ignore it.
  It’s too stupid to not notice, yet John Kerry and David Axelrod said it anyways. The only reason I can imagine that they did this is because either they are stupid beyond belief or they are hoping their people are so stupid that they’ll believe them. They’re throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something will stick. Only crazy Liberals are stupid enough to believe it. Maybe they‘re hoping to get people who weren’t paying attention on board the “hate train.”

  Morning Joe gets 30 minutes on my tv screen today for this.
  
  When the msm/lsm does something resembling intelligence, we should reward them with a bump in their ratings. (Since ratings are gathered electronically now, yes, what we watch is counted)
  
  Reward good behavior and punish bad behavior.
  
  They have been punished with very low ratings for a long time and still occupy a channel on our tv tuners. They will either die a long ratings death or they will awaken to REAL AMERICANS and broadcast HARD NEWS, not simply toe the liberal propaganda line.
  
  Of course, this is msnbc, which will never change.
  It was built into their DNA from day one by bill gates and company.
  
  Perhaps it is best to perceive this as JOE issuing a job resume, showing that he is CAPABLE of rational thought? Perhaps he knows msnbc is going to #FAIL soon and he is looking for a new home?
  
  Not gonna get my hopes too high, but I will give him 30 minutes of ratings today.

I agree with him. The president has had ample time to do something about this and he sat back and did nothing. He is continuing on as he has been all along. He will not commit. He will watch the others hatch it out and then condemn who is not a part of his party. He is very sly, like a fox. He knew what he was doing and now the whole democratic party, especially the ones who are so damn crooked that they can’t write their name on a straight line, at attacking anyone who opposed them. What a sad bunch of people we have in the government. Kerry is stupid to think that the American people are going to believe him, they know the kind of politics that he plays.   Had he allowed it, it would have passed and we could have kept the triple A rating because we showed we were trying to get the gov’t back in line with their debts. This is the Cut, Cap & Balance.
  Since Harry wouldn’t allow it, he is the ONE AT FAULT for the downgrade, NOT THE TEA PARTY.
