School Reading List Featured Books on Lesbian Sex, Gay Orgy

Most of us can remember many of the books on the assigned reading list in middle and high school — from Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations” to Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s “Crime and Punishment.” Today, however, required reading for students apparently includes “Tweak: Growing up on Methamphetamines,” a book that features a scene depicting a homosexual orgy and “Norwegian Wood,” a book that features a sex scene between a 31-year-old woman and a 13-year old girl.

That’s right. Books on gay orgies and lesbian sex as required reading for students.

Fox Nation reports that a New Jersey school district has apologized to parents after requiring high school students to read the graphic books.

“Some of the language is inappropriate,” said Chuck Earling, superintendent of Monroe Township Schools in Williamstown, NJ. “We were not trying to create controversy. We were just trying to get students to read.”

Even more disturbing, is that the books reportedly on the required reading list were not just for high school students, but for middle school  students as well.

“There were some words and language that seemed to be inappropriate as far as the parents and some of the kids were concerned,” he said.

Fox adds:

One book, “Norwegian Wood,” was on a list for incoming sophomores in an honors English class. The book included a graphic depiction of a lesbian sex scene between a 31-year-old woman and a 13-year old girl, according to a report first published in the Gloucester County Times.

“I don’t think that’s relevant for any teenager,” parent Robin Myers told the newspaper. Her daughter was assigned to read the book.

“I was just kind of in shock,” she said.

The other book in question was “Tweak: Growing up on Methamphetamines.” That book included depictions of drug usage and a homosexual orgy.

“That has created a controversy,” Earling told Fox News Radio, referring to the drug usage – along with the lesbian and gay sex scenes. “We’ve pulled them from our summer reading list.”

In a misguided effort to keep ahead of the curve, school districts are substituting classic literature — that has served to educate millions of students for decades — with graphic books that are perhaps only intended to push a social and political agenda on the students who read them.

    I went to a University of Wisconsin school (go figure nothing going on in WI these days) but I graduated in 2003 and I had to read a similar book in which there were homosexual sex scenes and a whole mess of bizarre free-love stuff. I also had to read the Koran, the Bible and the Spider Indian bible. I was fine with those, hey the more you know right? But this was a mandatory general education 3 credit course I had to take. It was rare for me to skip class since I paid for my own schooling and worked my butt off to do so, but I skipped this one for 2 months yet still got a B. Didn’t see a conservative professor till junior year.

      I am going on Felenous Munk right now! Gross, just gross!!! It is not school that is responsible for teaching the kids social acceptance, social issues, social tolerance, social issues, IT IS THE PARENTS. G-Damnit! And they get mad when the SWAT team lets kids handle their weapons ( live in the County that did that). I am just so PO’D. The behavior that is decpicted in these books will get our children stoned to death in Sharia law. I just don’t understand why this Social Justice crap is being taught. Must be population control for the future.

      Here are a few way to fix this problem and it can be done right now.

      1. as a parent, get with other parents in your childrens classes and DEMAND, that your children be tought from the book, not the internet. this will put pressure back on the schools to make the schools spend money on books, when they use the argueement that we do not have the money to buy these books for all the children, then you counter with, i guess we will have to use the old books we have.
      2. DEMAND, that the teachers teach! every night sit down with your children and find out what they have been tought that day. when you actually find out, make a list of a few questions for the teacher, and send it (with your kid) every day back to the teacher. AND STOP DOING YOUR KIDS HOMEWORK FOR THEM, make them do it, and make the teacher correct them on it.
      3. GET INVOLVED AND GOTO YOUR SCHOOL! go once a week be known as that pain in the asssss parent, why you say, IT IS YOUR KID!
      4. put your views out for the teacher to realize. stand firm, tell them that you kids will not be reading this material, they will not be exposed to this porn, and when they say well we will just fail your kid, you tell them sorry you can’t do that either! (although i hate it thanks no child left behind, use it to your advantage) as long as your child attends class they cannot fail him/her. it is a win, win!

      There is no doubt of a push by those groups espousing alternate lifestyles to indoctrinate school age children with their views on sex, religion, drug use, political ideologies, etc. These books are so ubiquitious, I might understand a committee missing controversial content when making recommnedations for a reading list, but I doubt seriously any recommendations are made for books that someone on these committees hasn’t already read and want to slip into the curriculum.

      I’m 50. My parents are conservative religious people. I remember looking around at the “Now Generation” and wondering at the age of `12 what the country would be like when the ‘hippies’ were old enough to run the country. We are now finding out: Ideology above conscience, bad decisions veiled behind a bastardized “it’s a free country” scentario. Each day our country is less and less free, less and less productive, less and less respected because of decisions like these reading lists made by persons more than willing to put ideology before sense.

      We had this BS in our school district being shown to 3rd graders! We fought it…However, these so called “tolerant” morons send us hate mail, threats, compromised our bank account, shunned us at school functions. However, it was pulled and to God be the glory!! It went from “what do we do” to on every news station.

      Moral of story… get active people. It is only getting worse. Enough complaining…get to work we are losing our freedom section by section!

      Obama appointed Arne Duncan, who appointed “safe schools czar” Kevin Jennings, a homosexual. He is also the founder of GLSEN(gay,lesbian, straight education network).
      None of this is a coincidence- Jennings openly advocates “exposing” children as young as 6 to gay themes.
      I check everything my kids read- and so should you. “Save the planet, love mother earth, Jack wants to be Jill”. Enough already- teach them math & science and let me worry about the rest.

    Why didn’t the superintendent think the contents of the books were inappropriate???? What is he playing dumb, or being politically correct???? Fire all those involved in picking this REQUIRED reading list.
    It seems they have more of an agenda then to just get kids to read. These people should be charged with corruption of a minor.

      The superintendent likely was so removed from what’s actually being taught in the classrooms that he really was clueless. He’s a beaurocrat. A form signer. A meeting attender. What‘s happening in the classrooms and what’s in the “required reading” is beyond his knowledge. Some liberal **** likely told him these books had some kind of redeeming value and he signed off on it without a second thought. As soon as you start holding these idiots accountable..SERIOUSLY ACCOUNTABLE, you’ll see an improvement in our education system. Until then, you’ve got bloated beaurocrats signing off on policies and materials that liberal elements put on their desks. Sure..some of these superintendents are liberals themselves and agree with these polices…but many aren’t..they’re just beaurocratic idiots going along to get along. This is a mindset liberalism has created for them.

    What ever happened to great works like“The grapes of wrath”, “Of mice and men” etc. etc. My son was educated abroad, Graduated from High School at 13, from college at 19 with the equivalent to a Masters degree in Computer Science.       I’m going to describe the literary contents of a book and please let me know if you feel it contains themes appropriate for high school students.

      - Portrays American workers as open hostility to non-white workers as an almost innate quality.
      - Strongly advocates the ideals of socialism and unionized worker representation listing together as comparable the ideals of “Paine, Marx, Jefferson, [&] Lenin”
      - Focuses on a destitute family dabbling in socialism and collective living.
      - Contains detailed depictions of the actions of an alcoholic frequenter of prostitutes.
      - Contains a character meant to represent Christ that is described as a preacher who has lost his faith after repeated fornication with numerous (married) members of his church.
      - This same Christ representation finds his lost faith through union activities and is considered a martyr for dying in defense of the unions.
      - The main character is represented as heroic for murdering a union buster.
      - Contains a closing scene in which a teenage woman breast feeds a grown man.

      So what do you think? Is this work appropriate? Do you know what this book is?

      Nice artwork. Very upsetting article and we must take back public education. The first thing to do is destroy the teachers’ unions. Remove their control of the curriculum. I suggest reinvestment into parochial schools. Footnote: I have gay family and friends and they find this behavior appalling. It’s not ok to corrupt children through pornography by anyone ever. And we wonder why Muslims call us Infidels.

      Home schooling is simply giving up and letting them win. Instead of fighting the system to get it back on track, home schoolers are simply giving in and allowing the whacked out liberals to win. Think about it. For every good christian conservative that removes their kids from the school system that is one less person standing in their way. Wake up people and fight the school systems that do these things. Be the squeaky wheels that get the grease not the silent disgruntled that run to home schooling and hide. True home schooling would be spending time with your kids after school and finding out what they are being taught so you can address it. Get more involved in the election of school board members. Otherwise you leave those behind who‘s parents don’t care. STAND, DON’T HIDE.

Do you honestly think that you can combat the eight hours per day of brainwashing that your child will get in public school? Don’t kid yourself!       In many states, adult pornographic magazines have to be under a cover or placed in a back room where children can’t see them. Furthermore, store owners can be prosecuted for alowing children to purchase such literature.

      But now, we have a school district making pornography required reading. Well, the School Board, the Superintendant, the principals of each school and every teacher who required their students to read this literature should be prosecuted for CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUINCY OF MINORS!!!!

    Hmmm thats weird, they can have the kids read that kind of B.S. but if they mention the word GOD…. they go out of their minds….. But if you think about it, if you take GOD out of the equasion this is what happens !!!!!!!!! My grandaughter just started kindergarden this year, she is going to a charter school, and they actually recite the pledge every morning !!!!!!! You can bet your ass that I will be keeping an eye on their school work, and if it starts to go awry in the near future I will be there to straighten them out !!!!! as should all parents and grandparents !!!!!!!! Take your school back

      Be careful. One of their “charter school” tricks is to hide communist propagandist code in advanced mathematics. As soon as you stop understanding your granddaughter’s math homework (whether that’s at the algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, or even the long-division level) you need to really ramp up the vigilance!

    Why are no Republican canidates for president speaking out about this type of thing? This is one of many examples showing the difference between the lib elite and the common conservative. This is a real issue and someone needs to own it and run with it. Are the Republicans afraid to talk about issues that the common conservative is concerned with?

      The Republicans have an agenda all of their own.

      Our schools have lost there original purpose and have become buildings of indoctrination of our children.

      Listen to Charlotte Iserbyt or Norman Dodd-Look them up on You Tube. They describe exactly what is happening in our schools.

      Any parent who sends their child to any school-public or private-needs to be on top of what their children are learning and taught. This kind of thing happens in private schools as well-yes even Christian ones.

      Wake up America!!!! It begins with the woman and children.

      So true. Charlotte Iserbyt explains what is happening in our schools and she is dead on the money. There is a reason why her book is so expensive to buy and why she made it free on her web site. Those that don’t want you to know what is really happening bought it up, so that we couldn’t get it.

      My only question is should I get the less costly Glock 19 or splurge and get the Sig p239?

      I’m leaning toward the p239 because the DA/SA + decocking mechanism of the p226 has served me so well, but $900 is a chunk of change.
