Schwarzenegger & Palin Trade Twitter jabs

(AP) — Flying over Alaska on his way to Asia, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn‘t help but take a lighthearted jab at the state’s former governor.

His Twitter message Thursday night said he was “looking everywhere but can’t see Russia from here,” a reference to an infamous remark from Republican then-vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential campaign.

That prompted a tart response from Palin on Friday.

The former Alaska governor says in her own Twitter message that “Arnold should have landed” so she could explain to him her state’s multibillion dollar budget surplus. California has a $19 billion budget deficit.

Schwarzenegger, also a Republican, was leaving for a weeklong trade mission to China, Japan and South Korea.

I can see russia from one of our satellites. Other than that, i don’t care. Hey Arnold, Run for president some time…ooooooooo sorry. Seriously man, make another movie, your great. Your an action hero and everybody love you doing that stuff but you failed as a governor. It’s not the easiest thing to do, you should know that by now, so give the woman a break, She can’t be an action hero loved by millions and you can, but you can’t run a seven eleven and she can run a state and man has she got millions loving her. BTW I voted for her, not john mccain.

If he couldn‘t see Russia he wasn’t looking hard enough, because you can see Russia from Alaska. Russian bombers constantly violate US airspace over Alaska and are routinely intercepted by American and Canadian fighter jets.

The Terminator of the Golden State’s economy, couldn’t land, only because he, like most liberals, are simply not grounded. I served on the Alaskan Aleutian Island of Shemya, now known as Eareckson AFS, from Sept 1992-1993, Mr S, and I DID see Russia from there! The tip of the Aluetian Island chain is a few hundred miles from Kamchatka Pennisula. Please don’t insult the Republican Party, however flawed, by including his name as a member, Ahnold, is, was, and always will be, a RINO, and a tentative rino at that. His policies follow the folly of demokrat policy, and one is defined by what they do, not waht they refer to themselves as. Great movies though. The Californians whom recalled Grey Davis from office and elected this buffoon must be very cynical by now. Meg Whitman, however, will be a refreshing change to the land of fruits and nuts. Career politicians beware, the gravy train is coming to a stop.

Sorry to say Jim, there is no way you could possibly see the Kamchatka peninsula from Shemya. At a distance of 450 miles it just isnt possible due to a number of factors eg curvature of the Earth, atmospheric refraction etc. Even Everest cant be seen from more than approx. 240 miles

Even if she did say “her back door”or whatever, you have to take that in the way people exaggerate things like, “that store is a stone’s throw away” when it might be a mile.

Some people get so worked up over what‘s literal and what’s not. The point is, Alaska does neighbor Russia.

There is not too much room for humor, when you are governor of a state that is for all intents and purposed is bankrupt. As to making fun of Palin in regards to her Russia comment, as she pointed out he should send a delegation to Alaska to find out how California can create a budget surplus.
California also needs to send a trade delegation to states like Tennessee, Nevada, Arizona
and other states that have been taking jobs from our state. California produces nothing but spend
happy politicians, who would sell their children for votes.

Let’s be honest, Alaska plays the redistribution of wealth game, taxing the oil companies and giving that money to citizens. If Palin were a true conservative, she would have led the charge to repeal that tax.
