Science Czar Holdren on Climate Change Skeptics: ‘It Is An Education Problem’

The Hill reports:
President Obama’s top science adviser said there’s a need to “educate” GOP climate change skeptics on Capitol Hill as the White House seeks to advance its green energy agenda.
“It is an education problem. I think we have to educate them,” said John Holdren, who heads the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, in an interview broadcast Sunday.
Obama, in his State of the Union speech last week, called for deriving 80 percent of U.S. power from “clean” sources by 2035, and funding increased R&D of green electricity and fuels by repealing billions of dollars in oil industry tax breaks.

Perhaps that ol’ nuclear fire ball in the sky is doing what it has done for billions of years – fusing a little hotter or cooler now and then. I think that solar activity probably dominates any small perturbation caused by the activities of man.
The generation of CO2 by humans is easily countered by plant life, as plants grow faster when there is more. They use it as food! That’s what chlorophyll and photosynthesis are all about.
Probably the most dangerous practice that man does is slash and burn farming. In 3rd world countries, this practice is literally cutting out mother earth’s lungs and burning them up for minimally sustainable farms that last only 2 or 3 years.
Every tree that is cut needs to be replaced by two. Every acre of arable land needs to be growing. The oceans must be conserved and protected from pollution, as the other lung of the earth is the algae in them.
Remember that we all are in a small fragile lifeboat floating in an abyss of vacuum, fusing hydrogen and barren rock. Conserve and protect what is here indeed, but do not believe in anthropomorphic global warming as this is just another fear tactic used by those that wish to take all the guns, gold, women, food, water, and last but not least – power over you. Call them politicians – statesmen only want freemen to be able to pursue life, liberty and their own personal happiness.
Remember that the Second Amendment to the Constitution is the Amendment that guarantees all of the rest. Do your best to arm yourself, stock up on ammo and supplies and follow the Boy Scouts of America motto – “Be Prepared” http://usscouts.org/advance/boyscout/bsmotto.asp Check it out!

Report Post »I agree the problem IS education, as in I’ve had too much education to know this to be true, the CO2 concentration is .083%, It’s a trace gas, one that’s essential for half the life here on earth. The highest CO2 concentrations in Earth’s geologic history occured during the Cambrian Explosion when, fact is, the greatest number of animal species evolved during this period. This is not science this is perversion! The sun or CO2 concentrations or bio-accumulation are NEVER mentioned by these eco-fascists because there going to preted like the Earth is constant and unchanging. The climate of our Earth is cyclical in nature. It’s been that way since the beginning, no matter if one is a creationist or evolutionist. Right now we are in a cycle where our temperatures are on the cold side.
The whole global warming/climate change has been discredited, and is a hopeless cause that the Progressives are trying to force on the USA. Really?! We know what global warming is all about, and it has nothing to do with global warming. It has to do with putting money into the pockets of Progressive supporters.
If the Progressives think November 2, 2010, was bad, they should consider what November 6, 2012, is going to be for them!
They’re gonna work hard, folks — harder than they did in the last weeks of the 111th Congress — to get this done. What they have forgotten is that the states have the authority to nullify federal law when it’s unconstitutional! We have our work cut out for us!

Subspot activity (which is what drives warming) has been almost non-existant for the past 8-10 years. It appears that the average daily temperature is down by about 2 deg f. The best estimate is that the Maunder Minimum, which ended about 155 years ago, the average temperature was down about 2-1/2 deg f.

However, I reminded him of the CA Sequoia forest (Giant Redwoods,– if you have not seem go, they are magnificent), glaring empirical evidence that stands before you, called, …..the rings of the trees. They tell of hot, cold,drought, fire….some trees are 2 thousand years old….(by the way I was delighted to see Glen use this same example recently on his program). I guess the facts stored in the trees is just another “Inconvenient Truth”.

About 1300 to 1100 A.D. when the Viking, Eric “the Red”, was ejected from Iceland for “some slayings”, he and his group went to Greenland. Unlike today, Greenland had stands of birch trees, grazing pasture, and tillable soil. The Vikings created a thriving settlement exporting grain, hides and other animal products. They built stone churches that are still there today.
Now here is the interesting bit; they buried their dead. Why is that interesting? Because the bodies cannot now be exhumed without serious mechanical technology because of the permafrost. Thus; it must have been warmer then than it is today.
Church records and other written data from that era show that, all over the world, it was much warmer than it is today. It is known as the “medieval warm period” and no serious scientist doubts that it occurred because there is too much evidence. The global warming crowd try to ignore it, but all you have to do is google for facts.
“Climate change” is natural and is caused by the sun. “Global warming” is a cynical political attempt to grab our money and control our lives.

We had lead in our gasoline and locomotives plowing across the U.S. Steel Mills and so on… Now why was there no global warming through all those years ?? Here is just one of many things out there that could be a clue as to whether climate change is real or not. Fact is, I don’t know if climate change is real, and you don’t know. I wish both sides would stop the BS and seek the truth about it, whatever it is.

My child had a speaker at his school for three hours, telling the kids that if someone tells you that there is no global warming, they are lying to them. Yes we want to re-educate the public about the population control problem we call climate change. In the old days when we called it eugenics, and our guy in germany took on the problem, things were cut and dry. Every one in germany agreed on the “final solution”. The problems we had with the americans made us re think our approach. In order to get american support we needed the liberal progressive socialist movement to push our eugenics agenda under a more politically correct campaign, the green movement. Eugenics was replaced with “global warming”, the drones on the left who can be told what to think push the agenda. Once again the science is settled and we can move forward with the final solution. The science is not settled, and anyone who makes that claim has no business having scientific credentials. Thats not science, thats a religion. A religion identical in all but name to the german one of the 30s and 40s. Our foreign policy as a nation changed with WW2, we stopped leaving the rest of the world alone, in order to prevent another Hitler. We looked outside. Now has come the time when we must look inside, to prevent another Hitler, time is short.

In our recent past, about 10-12,000 years ago was when the last major ice age started to end. We know this since there was so much water tied up in those mile + high glaciers, that there are cities (over 100, so far) on the floor of the Medditeranian sea, not to mention, along rivers running through the deserts with ruins of cities and towns next to them (they were green then).
A minor cooling period helped bring down the Roman Empire. Crops failed, starvation ensued, waves of plagues came through, followed by the Huns and other tribes.
More recently, about 1300 ad to 1855 ad the Maunder Minimum occured. This period of global cooling caused crops to fail repeatedly, starvation, aided waves of plagues, and one result is still felt today, The grape vines that grew so well in Northern Europe and England died off. This is why peoples from that region still drink an enormous amount of beer, compared to wine.
The data they are using has been exposed as erroneous. There is so much profit in this that the bloodsuckers are not about to go away. They are more than willing to destroy our civilization in order to reap money.
Anybody that is silly enough to buy their nonsense is an idiot. Just like the big lie of marxism, this is about money and control. They want to have it, we are the cattle. the push to accept “Global warming” as “settled science” has been nothing but propaganda and politics from its beginning in the early 80′s when it replaced the first attempt to use “climate” for political purposes. The first attempt was, you got it, “global cooling” back in the 70′s. Mags and papers published front page dire warnings about global cooling, a coming ice age, bringing global starvation.
And who was a part of that scare? You bet, it was our current science czar, John Holdren! Back then he blamed “global cooling” on man’s activities too, particulate emissions. But soon after he realized that he had chosen the wrong polutant. His writings indicate he found the “marxist’s” perfect polutant, carbon dioxide emissions. It took just a few years for him and like minded to figure out how to make carbon dioxide the enemy of the planet, the cause of the next scare, “global warming”. What makes carbon dioxide emissions “perfect”? Because it is emitted by virtually everything mankind does. If you have the authority to control carbon dioxide emissions, you have the authority to control everything mankind does, a “marxist’s perfect polutant.
For the most part Europe bought it but Americans did not. So Al Gore announced a couple years ago that he was provided $300 million for a campaign (his words) to convince Americans that “global warming” was settled science.
Tens of thousands of scientists, not on the government grant dole, and the nation’s top weather people, PHDs all, have debunked the supposed science behind “global warming”. And as others have posted, just a brief check of our recorded history will reveal that the “climate changes” and that we had far warmer (and better) weather in the 1100 to 1300 AD period, long before the industrial age….Greenland was green then! Secondly, we now have enough “history” for science to reveal that the concentration of carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere is a “lagging indicator” of warming, not a “leading” indicator or cause.
All that is needed to debunk this politically motivated scam is common sense, the willingness to do your own research and the courage to question with boldness…..hmmmm, I’ve heard that before somewhere…..sounds familiar…,no matter, it works.

Now if CO2 which comes from factories and vehicles is our main culprit, than explain what happened centuries ago when the horse and buggy ruled the earth. Lets insert a little common sense into the equation and say that Global Change is here and all we can do is roll with it. Oil rules until something better comes up and Green should stay a backseat option until you blind can really see.

Or are you one of those people who believe that everyone’s opinion counts the same even on matters requiring specialized knowledge? In which case, why do you go to a doctor in the first place??
The fact is, climate change is complex and requires expertise and knowledge that many Congressional leaders clearly lack. I have heard them comment on the issue, and their words give them away as individuals who lack that necessary base knowledge in science to evaulate the issue. You would not object to someone saying that Congressional leaders need the help of experts to understand the physics of anti-missile defenses or stem-cell research, so why do you complain if the same is observed in the case of climate change??
